A buddy asked me to throw them up on here. Some Vidor peeps havent been able to see O'Neal yet so there is one of him ripping up Porter. Yes Dayton I know its Porter but impressive. The second is a hit my baby threw on CE King. He was hurt and didnt play the Crosby game excempt a few plays and none on defense. He has been looking good on defense. Super excited about Tomorrow!!!!!!!! We aint going down without a fight baby!!!! [Hidden Content] Second one....... [Hidden Content] The other LB in at this time was a sophomore, before y'all Dayton people start thinking it was Dolan out there. Good Luck and stay safe to both teams........ Lets rep 19 4A big time this year in the playoffs.
Dayton does have a bit of trouble stopping the run, Crosby almost rushed for 300 yards on them. We don't try to run it straight up the middle every time though, plus we have a threat to throw. O'neal had a pretty good game on Crosby, I think it was something like 12 or 14 carries for 116 yards with a long of 76. Can't wait to play Porter the last game of the season though, from the looks of it Austin could have his 3rd 240+ yard game of the season.
COOG8BRONCO... serious question, do you have 2nd half stats from the Dayton/Crosby game? I've been wondering about those for a while.
Nah, just the box scores. The stats from the Baytown Sun and Chronicle differ a bit though. Crosby had just under 200 rushing and right at 110 passing in the first half per my running tab in the stands. I'm usually within 20 yards by the end of the game once I check the stats in the a.m. Nothing concrete to give you though. -
Don't think PAM can hang with Manvel.
Manvel got their head boxed in by North Shore, Mustangs put 42 straight on them at one point. I think PAM played the best they could but came up just short. Manvel airs it out where NS runs it, so unless PAM can't defend the pass I would take them in that one. Anyway, I got Crosby losing a nailbiter to Texas City in the D2 regional final at Stallworth stadium. -
This might change the game KP starting QB is out for the rest of the year.
From the research I was doing he was their best player. Still a sophomore though along with the rb so he has time to bounce back. Short week, loosing the qb against a D coming off two consecutive shutouts, Crosby might blow this one open. 38-10 Coogs if this is true.
Huffman and Splendora are playing some teams now that they are almost double the size of. Six of one, half a dozen of the other as far as fairness goes.
Huffman wouldn't stand a chance in 19-4a, they moved them up one realignment and they went 5-15. I thought 950 was the cutoff giving Huffman 4a numbers and they haven't dropped below that so I really don't know why they went back down, maybe I was mistaken and it's 1050 though. Splendora might have a chance if they came up though, KP won one of those northern districts last year and won't make the playoffs in this one. -

I just hate how hard it is to get out of the region over here. Potentially two top ten teams could be at home after the first round.

Just doing my usual stat geek stuff. Walter boys got it going this year. Aston #3 in the area in 4a passing behind Sharp(SC) and Isadore(NCP), Austin #3 in the area rushing, Justin #4 in the area receiving. They're doing this with the easiest part of the district schedule still to come. Liking the Thursday night spotlight this week.
I hope it rains like cats and dogs and every time Dayton tries to pass the ball flutters into a BH hand. That way Dayton tries to run the ball against a team that has NEVER allowed more than 25 yards rushing. ;) ;) ;)
Odds are Kyle McBride has at least two rushes that surpass 25 yards.
Odds are he becomes a yard dart if he tries......... ;D ;D ;D
They might be right Smoke. Y'all do seem to have a hard time with feature backs. Gave up 163 on 19 carries to Jeffery, Austin put 258 on you with 17 carries. The two best backs you've faced BH has given up 421 yards on 36 carries. McBride is a smaller scat-back they run on the edges which is exactly where BH is limited. I read McBride was leading the district in rushing with 516 yards but Austin has 776 so I don't know where that guy that wrote the article got that but he had 126 on 15 carries against Crosby, about 60 of it came on one play though. -
Besides turnovers, I really can't find anywhere to give KP more than 14 pts. They had a hard time with New Caney last week until the 4th quarter, they gave up over 400 yards to Porter, and they can't throw which doesn't expose Crosby's achilles heel. Barring a major meltdown Crosby wins this one by at least 20. 38-14 Crosby, solidifying playoff positions for the top 4 in 19-4a unless we were to lose to Humble and Porter with their one combined win.

ParK to SC -54 Dayton -6 BH -36 Crosby -59 Of course this means points scored - points allowed but only in head to head games. Does not look good for K.Park and BH against Dayton. The #'s show exactly how the district is now. We will see Friday if they stay correct. Dayton by 6 over BH SC by a lot over Porter Crosby by 50 over K. Park ( think Crosby wins but not that much)
With this theory you're saying that Dayton will lose to SC by 36?

It looks like Livingston is in with a win over Central. Looks like LCM is going to be the other team sending Vidor D1. Can't believe Central is 2-5. If Crosby beats KP then the D2 bi-district matchups are Crosby-LCM and Barbers Hill-Livingston. D1 would be the winner of the SC-Dayton game vs Vidor and the loser vs Nederland. Big time matchups round 1. I think 19-4a would have to give points in all of these matchups vs the spread though.
-
It doesn't matter how 19-4a plays out. Nederland can play with and beat any of the 4 possibilities when they play up to potential. Just having no injuries for the remainder of the season would be more important than who our 1st round opponent is.
I think Ned played their best game against Vidor or Crosby, niether was good enough to beat SC or Dayton this year. Dayton is Ned's best opportunity for a win though. Ned's d-line would have an advantage of Dayton's o-line but they would have a disadvantage everywhere else. Not 'cause SC is better than Dayton, but because SC's o-line is the best I've seen since Dawson's which would mitigate Ned's best feature. It also doesn't hurt they have the most prolific passer in the region.

I think the reason they can't make the 6a we're all talking about is strictly because of travel. Splitting the lower classifications and having playoff games with 3500 people would make the same money as letting a weaker high enrollment school in due to attendance they would have at the game. Where would you make the cutoff for 5a though? 3500 gets you a district with Deer Park, NS, and the next closest school with that type of enrollment would be Westfield. After that you would be looking at one of the Cy schools for another member. Except for the Cy or Plano districts, schools that big just aren't that close to each other. 5a division 1 and two are pretty evenly split, the issue is when you have Dayton playing 4a D2 against Manvel who realigns to 5a but the two bigger schools in the district stay 4a?

Crosby has at least made the playoffs, went two rounds deep or better in 3 out of 4 years. Vidor had its glory moment last year and won the game, but why does there have to be so much negativity. Trash talk or not, no need to constantly bash when you havent been to the dance very often
So I guess you have something to say, blow your horn or put it up. ;D
He's probably just shocked by how a team with a loss to 3a Silsbee, less than 100 total yards on Dayton, and no wins over a team .500 or better could be talking trash.

Definitely not our best offensive performance, only the second time all year being held to under 400 yards but I don't think many teams in this region have the kind of athletes to run that scheme. CE King is a good football team, matter of fact I think they would make the playoffs in 20-4a, and Crosby shut them out and only allowed 147 total yards which was King's lowest district total so far. Our corner never got tested but he did have an interception and an awesome tackle for a loss on a screen play. If Crosby can get playoff matchups against running teams I think the regional final is a real possibility.
how'd that work out for ya last year?
Worked pretty well. Outgained Vidor by over 100 yards, averaged over twice what Vidor did per carry, and exposed Vidor's athletes in space. Flannigan just refused to adjust the defense for that three yards and a cloud of dust offense Vidor ran. Heck of a lot better run D for Crosby this year though and the offense is scary when we play clean ball. I think Crosby underestimated Vidor last year, won't get that same disrespect this year now that y'all have playoff win.
well, our simple offense (as you call it) ran for 308 yrds on your defense. and since you are so stuck on stats, did it ever occur to you that you gained a good chunck of yards after we went up 35-20 and started playing conservative. oh, here is another stat. only 7 second half points for crosby. guess all them yards don't mean much if you can't punch it in. hmmmmmmm.
Played conservative? What do you mean, you were giving up 9 yards a carry so you backed off and gave up 12? We gave you the ball inside the 20 three times, punts of 6 and 8 yards and fumbled the opening kick. Like I said, Crosby didn't respect a team that hadn't won a playoff game in 47 years so we thought we could just show up and win. No such problem this year though and bad luck against Barbers Hill, the Eagles should fire y'alls decrepit streak back up.
Nederland stopped Crosby
That was Crosby's very first game of the season with a new coach and offense. Not even close to what we're doing now. I don't think the 21 pts Ned scored could beat us now.

You played one 19-4a team and got held to under 100 total yards, 18 more yards than 0-8 Porter. I know Collins didn't play but either way he wasn't getting 300 yards. Livingston isn't geared to stop the top 19-4a offenses, plus y'all have 487 passing yards with 5 td's and 7 picks. Looking like it's one and done for whoever in 19-4a the Lions draw. Anyway I think BH would win this one 38-17.
Don't compare 19-4A to Dayton, stop holding onto Dayton's coat tail. Dayton is in a league by itself, and Crosby is not in that league, neither is BH or anyone else in your district, maybe SC but that is still to be determine as for as them being in Dayton's league. Crosby Sucks, you might as well get use to it, all you have is a twin engine that can be stopped by any good coach.
One twin ran for 131 on 18 carries, the other threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns and that's what you called being stopped? Man, if that's getting stopped then you're holding Crosby to a higher standard than Livingston. Crosby was 19 yards shy of half a 1000 on Dayton, Livingston had 19 more yards than the sorriest team in our district and couldn't break 100. No comparison there, Livingston wouldn't make the playoffs in our district. C.E. King at Crosby Game Thread/Crosby wins 24-0!

You're right, they might show us how to score. KP only managed 294 yards of total offense, gave up 187 on D and scored 29 pts. Crosby held them to 100 total yards with the backups in the last quarter and half.Crosby could have easily scored 63 or 70 pts on New Caney. King had the second best combination of size and athleticism I've seen since SC, plus they had a great scheme with the kids to pull it off. You can really tell those are the two biggest schools in the district. Very physical game and some of King kids started scrapping towards the end, but I guess they didn't realize we have hay meadows and hoods over here. Bold prediction. . . . If KP doesn't score on Crosby they could end the season with 5 consecutive shutouts. . . . . Now feel free to ream me.
Ican tell you spent some time lookin up the stats.Fact is ya'll lost to Dayton and they have beat all 3 of the teams we're talkin about!!! Crosby might want to keep the starters in the whole game!!
What? Are you telling me something I didn't know or just wanted to throw in a "Crosby beat dayton"? You said KP might show us a thing or two, I told you why they probably won't, and you said dayton beat all three? Guess comprehension wasn't part of the curriculum.
