  1. If I were putting money on it, this is probably how I would lean. I could see the stros winning this one in 6 or 7, but if the rangers can extend how they've played the first 5 games of the playoffs for another 10 games or so they'll be lifting a WS trophy the first week of November. Should be a lot of fun.

  3. He’s an awesome coach, but I think a lot more of it has to do with A) Silsbee becoming almost unbeatable for the last decade and B ) the road to regionals including 1-3 4A AAU Houston teams every year. You wanna make the argument that Sutherland might’ve done a little better, it’s possible. But he’s not beating those Silsbee or Houston teams any more than Davis has. I think he saw what was coming down the pipe and got out while the getting was good.
  4. So you’re saying that you don’t think HJ will be one of the top 10 teams in the area? It’s also laughable that you’re worried about ole bullets still.
  5. I liked the big school and small school rankings we used to do. 6A/5A has a totally different feel to it than 4A and lower. You also have to start making some weird decisions when comparing 2A to 6A in the same poll. A state-ranked 2A school is going to get boat raced by a mediocre 6A school. How do you factor in their skill level vs. like-sized schools, versus what they would do in a literal head to head matchup with a team in the same poll that is 4 divisions higher?
  6. regardless of who that is, it will be a blow. but that being said, there are always plenty of decent players floating through the halls there, and always the possibility of a move in here or there. a down year for them may mean they're not a top-25 team in the state, but it doesn't take all that much to be a top-10 team in the area. what's a down year for them? 22-11? 19-10? I'm willing to bet that's better than several squads listed by the two folks above.
  7. a qb throwing for 175 yds and 1 TD a game isn't going to win crap over the course of the season, but that's what he averaged during that 4-1 stretch.
  8. HJ graduated some seniors, but they went 30-6 last year, have key pieces returning, and always reload. Just like the last several years, they'll be a fair step behind Silsbee, PAM, and BU, but to see two people make top-10 lists and neither put them on there is laughable.
  9. I can't comment on Lance, but Rush isn't half the qb that Dak is, as little as that says.
  10. The difference between the two was Romo would put up 35, the defense would allow 38, then everyone would call Romo a choker for not being able to go 70 yds in 15 seconds to win it. He also was awesome without an offensive line
