I just dont understand this . I thought the point of getting to play in the playoffs was you have to WIN . Now you will have teams with losing records complain about an 0-10 team in the playoffs . back in the day you had teams that played 7 district games and if you lost 1 game you may not make the playoffs. Hell , you may share the district title and not make payoffs so i could see 2 teams from the district going . they can only play who is on the schedule. Im an hf alumni, but im a realist and based on this season inability to play defense or stop the run im not to optimistic. Especially considering what happened last night was embarrassing!!! Considering the fact youre going to the playoffs and that is all you came with ? Lamarque has studs on that team . Choates ran all over hf last night , i dont think orangefield has that same fire power Lamarque has which is what brought me to what i said . Nobody wants hf to win no more than i do , but i just dont see them getting that done . i want them to prove me wrong , but from a defense giving up almost 50 points a game is not comforting.

im not taking shots at the team , its the UIL . I thought you had to WIN district games to get in , right ? well scarborough hasnt won a game period !!!! so isnt that a contradiction ? i will answer it , YES !!!!  what about neighboring district teams that won 2 district games but will be at home next week , is that fair to them ? well i have said it time and time again 4 is too many teams going in . yes i know you will have a cinderella story like gladewater last year coming out the district of doom with a 4-6 record and go 4 deep in the playoffs and finish 7-7 . were they a bad team that got in because of the 4 team getting in system ,  or did they just hit their peak at the right time ? because they did better than the district runner up (gilmer ) . i just dont think a team with a losing record 4-6 or 3-7 should get in , hell even when it started being 2 teams per district  back in 82 westbrook at least went 6-4 (winning record) and we all know how that ended . we do have too remember it was a lot of holdovers from that 1981 hebert team that had played in the semifinals and would loose to willowridge 14-15.  plus they were coached by alex durley , enough said . 

Can someone explain too me why there are 2 state champs per classification? Why cant they play one more week and have just the ultimate #1 state champ ? That defeats the term were the best in the state of texas , now you say were the best in the state of texas in division 1 or division 2.

i dont get it that kid can be GRONK if they threw the ball to him who wants to try and tackle something that size in the open field ?? Lets not talk red zone when youre 6'4 and your regular cb or safety is 5'8 , that should be 6 all day !!

king has accounted for 32 touchdowns in 9 games and hamshire wouldnt be 1-9 they would be 0-10 if he wasnt there .  king if im not mistaken is over 1500 yards rushing with 23 tds , 400 plus passing with 7tds , a punt return for a td and a receiving td and a couple of interceptions at corner (when they let him play ), he has  also led  hamshire to their  first playoff appearance in 11 years i think he should be districts MVP ,if not offensive player of the year .  hopefully in these next games and  he can possibly break the rushing record in a year held by anthony semien (1,850)  in 1990 and possibly the td record in the 1991 season held by spencer george (28) . the young man has done a lot for this team and he still has a year left .

Alex Durley 9 years 97-13, 2 state championships (1976,1982) and 2 semistate appearances (1979,1981) . Makes you wonder if he could have coached 20 years or more what he would have accomplished . He was a great coach .

Remember last year gladewater got in on a 4-6 record and went 4 rounds losing too Argyle and finishing with a 7-7 record . Gladewater looks pretty good this year .

2012 WOS defense was great 9 shutouts in 14 games . now when will we see another defense in this area like that ?

Its all geard for offense . I mean you Have 3-4 receivers in a game , the splits are so wide , a lineman just has to turn the d lineman for a second and the qb on a speread option play can trip and fall and make a 5 yard gain . Qb's throwing the ball 40 times a game having 3, 000 yrds passing and rushing for almost 2,000 or throwng for 4,000 its crazy !!! Defense is gettng left in the dust and tackling is a forgotten art . You are suppose to get the man on the ground it doesnt necessarily means you have to knock him out just get him on the ground . How many times have you seen players hit a back hard and bounce off and ball carrier gets another 6 yards or scores ? Nobody wraps up anymore some of these formations the defenses have to go against they cant do nothing with them . Ask yourself this will there ever be another Dangerfield defense ? I remember when todd dodge passed for 3,000 yards back in 80 you didnt think that was gonna happen all the time , but it happens ALL the time now . I just think that with pros and protecting players (which is a good thing) mostly offensive players the advantage is the offense . I agree all of your major athletes are playing on the offensive side of the ball . We can give thanks to don shula for this , LOL !!!
