Top of the 5th inning. Dishon....works a walk, takes second on a steal and on a bad throw takes 3rd base. Hicks.....strikes out. 1 OUT Jackson....strikes out. 2 OUT Warner up to bat.......flys out to left..... So after the first half of the 5th, BC-3 Splendora-0

Splendora up to bat in the bottom of the 4th Reddick(sp) up to bat........gets a base hit(has 2 of 3 hits for Splendora) moves to second with a stolen base Sweat(sp) up to bat....strikes out. (8 for Stringer) 1 OUT Wood up to bat.....grounds out to first (runner advances to 3rd) 2 OUT next batter strikes out.. (9 for Stringer) So after 4 complete innings.....BC-3......Splendora-0

Warner up to bat.......base hit to left field....(struck out first at bat). moves to 2nd on wild pitch. Robertson up to bat......fly out to infield. 1 OUT Delano up to bat.......gets a walk. Dillion up to bat.......gets a walk to load the bases. Stringer up to bat......grounds out to first....but scores a run 2 OUT Bolton up to bat.....runners at 2nd and 3rd......flys out to center......3 OUT After 3.5 innings.........BC-3.........Splendora-0

#8 batter from Splendora........gets a walk. Next batter sac bunts him to 2nd. Parker (pitcher) up to bat strikes out (#6 for Stringer) ........2 outs. Parker hit a double in his first at bat......got all curves this time!! #2 batter, strikes out...#7K for Stringer. End of 3 Innings..............BC-2......Splendora-0

I am in and out on the game......so bear with me. Bolten led off the inning......he was the first out.....on a K. Dishon went deep in the count, but ended up the second out.......on a K. Hicks at bat.....works a walk.....on a throw to first....it gets away and Hicks goes to second.....E-1 Jackson at bat..........flys out to right field. After 2.5 innings......its BC 2 and Splendora 0

End of 2, Stringer has 5 strickouts so far.......

Bolten was on base when I tuned in........Dishon then walked.......Hicks tried to bunt them over and struck out.......Jackson hit a shot to the fence in the gap that scored Bolten and Dishon. Next batter struck out........then the next hit a shot to shortstop and was thrown out at first......

Nope.........don't think so..........the JV won the district so there is more coming around the turn.

Now that is an example of a better memory then mine.....but I was actually wondering how many strike outs in game 3, that were attributed to Stringer.

Good memory!! Angelle got you in game 1 and Stringer got you in Game 3.....I wonder how many were strike outs in that one???

I like confidence, but overconfidence will kill ya!! BC, must play each playoff game like its a state championship game. Leave it all on the field each time. Don't let off until the last inning is over. The experience gained last year should fair well for the Cards. edited to add: Splendora was in the playoffs last year and lost 2 games to HJ. So they have experience as well.

I agree.........but they have to come out playing Cardinal baseball, because on any given night......well you know the rest.

Jasper will play the winner of a game between the 3rd place team from district 23 and the second place team from district 24. edited to add: thise respective teams are Lagrange and Sweeny respectively. Well I am a Cardinal fan as in BC Cardinals!! Even though we came up short in Friday nights game, I still got to see a good game. Some untimely (are there any good time for errors?)errors hurt our effort. Dishon hit a 2 run dinger to the opposite field on what looked like a "check" swing. Jackson hit a smashing dinger to right on a inside pitch. It was good to see fans from around the area at the game, Kirbyville, Buna, HJ were some, but have to give accolades to the Jasper student section! They were hard to miss!! Got to talk a little baseball with Tucker......the Buna Ace pitcher and overall, had a good time at the park. Wish Jasper all the best in the playoffs, and hopefully we will meet again. My Cardinals have some work to do.....the small stuff will cost you a ballgame. There is always room to improve. So lets start off taking one opponent at a time. Don't overlook a "lessor" opponent for a "big name" one down the road. All fans need to support the teams in the playoffs, good luck to all of you and have some fun!!

Congrats to Jasper they deserve this one!! Now, the Cards have to put it together and make a run in the playoffs!

As for as Carthage is concerned, if you plan to make it out of regionals you have a chance to see them. But sometimes a team that goes into the playoffs undefeated has a big disappointment early on. Its like they forgot how bad it was to lose, or they take it for granted that their record will win the game.....my money would be on a team that plays good ball, has a recent loss and that is hungry to go further!! I guess fate will decide who gets the early shot at Carthage.

Looks like "mum" is the word on starting pitchers!! Can't really blame them for keeping their "strategy" close and quiet!! After looking at the brackets, any of the three spots in this district should do okay in thier respective games. I can see it now Region 3 champ being decided by teams from the same district..............heck we can dream can't we??

Well, grasshopper its called paying your dues. If you burn that senior, the message to the underclassmen is that they are all expendable. So why would an underclassman want to stay with a program, that will put them out to pasture when they are seniors when their skills are equal with someone younger then them? I have seen and heard a bunch of talk on the local level about this very same thing. The thing is the facts and figures did not back up the playing of underclass players because they were better. The stats showed they were not performing better but worse then the older ones. Maybe all the underclass players were school board members kids.........either that or that coach is a cheese head.......and that is being nice.
