  1. BH wins 10-0 against ST. Pius. Jr. southpaw Ross Hales goes the distance (5 innings) throwing a 1-hitter. Hales was bringing some heat with his fastball and buckling some knees with a nasty curveball. Soph. Alex Rocha starts up the BH sticks with a 3-run triple. After Rocha's triple, all BH bats come alive. LF Colby Townley with another home run...not sure if it was in game #1 or # 2. Game # 2 BH wins again, 4-1 over Milby. JR. lefty Kendall Thamm throws a 7-inning complete game with 14 K's and no walks, giving up one run in the sixth. For the season Thamm has 31 K's and only one walk...with 2 complete games. BH moves to 7-1 on the season and will play @ 1:00 tomorrow @ Butler....not sure who the opponent is yet.

  2. Game was at BH...very good game. Colby Townley with another HR for BH. Kyle McDonald yet another great game in center. Take nothing away from HJ, they are going to make some noise in 3AAA, very good squad.  However, because of Thursday's start of the Ewell Jackson tournament BH held their 2 soutpaws pitchcount down. Thamm threw first 2 innings ( 4 K's, 1 BB, 0 hits, 0 runs ). For the year the JR. lefthander has thrown 11 innings ( 17 K's, 1 BB,1 run scored..ERA of .082. The other JR. southpaw, Ross Hales threw last inning giving up no runs. I believe he struckout 1, maybe two. Very exciting game to watch.

  3. BH dad w/ an apparent biased opinion...Here goes....Taking nothin away frm HJ...BH 3-1. Beat state ranked B. West Brook, dominated # 9 Houston area, lost to AAAAA  Flower Mound by 1..in a game that should have been won ( Eagles Up 7-3 in the 5th ). Opened the season with a 1-0 victory aginst avery good Bay City team.  G-14 classified info, Jr lefty Ross Hales will not throw against HJ ( no injury, resting for Ewell Jackson tourney starting Thurday. Other JR. southpaw ( Kendall Thamm ) slated to throw 1st 2 innings only..again resting for EW weekend tourney. Look for JR righthander Hunter Silva to get some work in due to Saturday's rainout... Depending on if HJ's ace goes the distance..if not BH 12, HJ 2..

  4. In fact, all the kids from BH deserve Kudos far a job well done. As far as the pitching goes, Hales wasn't at his sharpest despite throwing 4 scoreless innings against Westbrook. Hales has only been pitching for a month due to surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. Hales will be fine. The other JR. southpaw ( Kendall Thamm ) was dominant. Thamm tossed a 92-pitch complete game against #9 area ranked Houston Christian, finishing with a 3-hitter w/ 12K's and no walks ( 1 solo HR and 2 infield singles ). BH's other strong pitcher Hunter Silva did not even throw this weekend due to Saturday's rainout.  All said, we will take the #2 board ranking.

  5. Not a problem BH146...thanks for the link...BH is on cloud nine right now...My opinion all along...BH has some unknown arms that can throw it...The Barrera injury caused many to discount us...Fact is Barrera is a great kid, well liked by his teamates...he's in the dugout always smiling, always positive...Kid's a born leader...BH is playing with some extra incentive now... My son has Barrera's number in his hat, on his socks, on his glove...on everything...My son is one of the JR. southpaws....Chase has been given the job to keep him loose, on an even keel. Without playing one inning, Chase is still a very, very important part of the BH team. Thru 3 games, I rate him an A+..They say everything happens for a reason...stayed tuned..Chase Barrera is going to prove that's the truth !  This year's BH team is made up of with kids that truly like each other, they pull for each other, some of the best chemistry I've seen..Barring the unexpected, BH is going to be just fine !

  6. BH Eagles look like the real deal...Two impressive wins to open the Houston Christian tournament. Game #1, 5-3 over 5a state-ranked Beaumont Westbrook. JR lefty Ross Hales throws 4 shutout innings. Jr. righthanders Jonathan Kelley and Hunter Silva close it out on the hill for the Eagles. Recent San Jac commit, LF Colby Townley with a solo shot to complete the scoring for BH. Game # 2, BH 11 -1 over #9 area-ranked Houston Christian. Jr. southpaw Kendall Thamm the story in this one. Thamm goes the distance, throwing a 3-hit, 92-pitch gem with 12 k's and no walks. Gives up a solo HR in the second, then it's lights out...allowing only 2 infield singles the rest of the way...one of those a very questionable call..based on the sounds from the entire BH faithful. BH bats come alive in the top of the 6th...Entire lineup bats this inning to bust open a 1-1 tie. BH moves to 3-0 on the year with all wins against ranked teams. Tomorrow doesn't get any easier with a noon matchup against a very good Flower Mound Squad..

  7. I agree very unusual game for a season opener..BH 1-0 in very well played game by two good teams. Pitching, pitching, and more pitching still the key for BH...along with a little timely small ball. Thamm ( 2 IP ), Silva ( 4 IP ), and Ross Hales ( 1 IP ) all looked sharp on the mound combining for the shutout. Very strong game from catcher ( Campbell ) and CF ( McDonald ). 6th inning single by McDonald, sac bunt from Garner, and RBI single from Soph SS Tony Carmona was the difference in the ball game. Competition doesn't get any easier as BH faces Beaumont Westbrook and Houston Christian on Thursday @ the Houston Christian tourney. Friday's opponent is against a very strong Flower Mound team.

  8. Pre-season srimmage is over... Tuesday regular season opener for most (WEATHER PENDING) ...May no player from any team get hurt...may the best man win ( yada..yada..yada) and............let's play ball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NC, HUFF, and BH looking forward to some great baseball !! Good luck to all ! Throw BH in the hat...we're ready !!

  9. Friday night scrimmage...BH 12,13, or 14...HF 0...Pitching still the plus for BH...defense looks promising...although not much defensive opportunity because of the pitching. BH rolled the ball more impressive this night. Campbell w/ 2 hrs, sophomore Jake Ponder launched one...I do mean launched one...that was..to me..questionably ruled foul..Couple of great oppo hits with men on base..to work on "small ball". Pitching still the plus...Jr. southpaws ( Hales/Thamm) combined for four innings, no hits, 10K's, 1 walk, no runs. JR. righthander Hunter Silva, 5 k's in two innings of work...his 2nd impressive appearance on the hill...Jr. righthand transfer from MIlby, Jonathan Kelley had his most impresive outing to date..All in all....BH will be in the mix...I'm staying with BH, New Caney, and Huffman..all in the mix in a dogfight for the final order.
