The mayor of the town is a black man. I saw an interview with him earlier and he seemed to think the officer was justified in the shooting. Hopefully, people will listen to him and behave!

I would hope if someone stepped up he would not be shot. No one has shot Sharpton and with his past and tactics, I would think he is more likely to get shot than a modern day MLK. The shooting of MLK has had a horrible impact on our country. His ideology and leadership have been missed. Many of those who stepped into the void left behind him have been out for themselves and have damaged our country.

This mess is going to get out of hand! If someone respectable from the black community doesn't step up and calm people down. There are going to be more idiots out there looking to get even, and that will lead to more shootings. No matter which side wins the gun fight, the other side is going to get more defensive. Soon we will have truly innocent black people getting shot because the police officers will be paranoid of any black person that looks like they may be able to carry a gun. This is going to become a self fulfilling prophecy. A few more police officers will be killed, and a bunch more black men will be killed. It will get out of hand! We need someone more like Martin Luther King and less Farrakans and Sharptons now. Stirring the pot is only going to get more people killed.

I forgot, the press will have a field day with each killing. The more black men or police that get shot, the more excited these vultures will be. They would be happy with all out civil war. Get to report from the battle and not leave the country. They are licking their lips and fanning the coals hoping for the flame to light.

And if the prosecutor did press charges on these idiots for perjury, you would be on here squealing like a stuck pig that they only got prosecuted because they are black. If they intentionally lied to try to change the outcome of this case, then they should be prosecuted no matter which side they lied for! You are either ruining an innocent man's life to help your cause, or trying to free a guilty person. Either way that is wrong and you should pay for your crime. If not, what is to stop 500 people from lying next time?

There is a time and a place for everything. In some situations and with the right people, open carry will be fine. Walking through Walmart or te mall is not one of those instances in my opinion. My entire family traveled to Alaska a few years back. We did a lot of fishing and hiking in the woods with 7 kids. My father, brother-in-law, and I all carried our pistols along. When we went into town to shop, we took them off and left them in the car. After the new wears off, people will go back to not toting them everywhere and things will get back to pretty much the same as now. But, there will always be some idiot who wants to stir trouble that will march into the mall wearing it. I have grown up around guns and my children both have been shooting since they were old enough to hold a red rider and then a 22. When someone walks down the sidewalk or into a store with a legal gun and I don't know that person it makes me very nervous. There are too many crazies out there who want to do evil things, and when people try to prove they have a right to carry a gun and show up in a crowded place, it is scary.

The mentally deranged person will find a way to hurt people. Maybe with a gun, maybe with a hammer, maybe with an airplane, a bomb, knife, or car. You cannot take any possible weapon away from a person who wants to hurt others. What you can do is arm yourself and your family so that when the mentally deranged person shows up, you have a fighting chance. Taking away guns from people who would only use them against another person in self defense will not make the world safer! It gives the bullies and thugs the advantage.

Gun control didn't help Australia recently. Criminal still had a gun and no chance anyone else had one. Gun free zone ensures no one can fight back.

A few months back, you were whining about someone else getting a supervisor position instead of you. Maybe this is the reason. I know you claimed it was because of racial discrimination, but maybe it was dedication to your job that caused you to get passed over.

Not sure of the details, and I am sure the government will somehow make this into a fiasco, but I can see a valid point in this change. If you are only making 28 or 30 thousand a year, you should be able to draw overtime pay. Working 50 or 60 hours a week as a supervisor should be worth your time.

Does it really matter where they were born at this point? If they are nominated by the democrats or republicans they will be out to screw the rest of the country. Neither party will allow an honest candidate who will follow the constitution and choose the country over their party!

The governor of Missouri is a democrat stooge. Just like the lieutenant governor is a republican stooge. No, he would not give up that Obama called the plays, and the republican will blame Obama no matter what. Both parties are playing us for fools. They keep us arguing with each other so we don't pay attention to what they are doing. They have successfully split the country and working together to keep it that way.

The political correctness is getting out of hand. If you are born with a bat and balls, you play baseball not softball, and keep your rear end out of the locker room or bathroom with my daughter. No matter what any psychiatrist or sociologist says, unless we learn to change a Y chromosome into an X chromosome, you are a male. I know you want to be a girl, but you are not! I know I feel really sorry for the poor ISIS guys who are cutting the heads of if children and putting them on stakes. And, when they have to take their own daughter out into the street and beat her to death with a rock. Poor guy.

Do they have to actually get shot, or can they beat someone to death with a hammer? If you don't have a record, but loot stores and burn police cars and businesses, can you still be a thug? Michael Brown deserved everything he got and officer Wilson was defending himself and needed to stop him immediately. This guy is a slightly different case. Although he was breaking the law and didn't immediately comply, the officers were awfully quick to dog pile him. It seems like they could have used a little more calm approach and probably got a better result. These officers did not intend to do great harm to the man and probably never dreamed that they were killing him. Still, they should be accountable for their actions. Ultimately their actions helps cause his death. When I worked at TDCJ and we had to take someone down, we were taught about positional asphyxia. As soon as he was under control they could have move him to a different position and it would have allowed him to breathe. The other officers who were piled on top were just as responsible. Putting weight on top of his body while he is face down causes this problem. Should they be tried for murder, no! But they should have some repercussions from their performance by the PD. they did not do a good job at work! Fired, suspended, demoted, I don't know what NYPD policies are for officers not doing their job correctly, but all of the officers involved should receive some sort of punishment. In addition, NYPD should be sued and held liable by his family. They need to do a better job training their officers to handle situations than this!

Just saw where Michelle Obama had a press conference condemning the looters and rioters in Ferguson. She scolded them pretty harshly!
You could tell she was very angry with their choice of items they were stealing. She kept repeating "instead of fast food and liquor, you should be looting carrots and celery"!
