1. 22-3A may be fun to see this year.  Looks like it is going to be more competitive than it has been for the last couple of years.  Seems to still be 3 better teams on top, Huffman, Cleveland, and Coldspring, but they all 3 seem to have their issues, and a couple of the other schools seem to have improved.  Even if it shakes out with the same teams on top, the games should be better and more competitive.  District starts this week.  Time to see which teams are for real, or who's pre-district schedule just worked out for or against them.
2. I see Cleveland playing Huffman and Coldspring tough and maybe even beating one of them.  I don't think Liberty has a chance at 3rd this year and may be lucky to stay off the bottom.  Shepherd and Tarkington still have a long way to go, but they are definitely improved this year.  District may not fall out so easily as it has for the past few years.

This preseason schedule has been brutal.  Not only have we lost twice, but we have had a ton of injuries compared to the last couple of years.  Team is pretty beat up, but I think they will be fine in district.  Hopefully we heal up before playoffs, or it could be an early basketball season.
Kirbyville have the same problem with the injuries. Cleveland have a pretty good defense, but Kirbyville had way too many chances to put them away. They gonna give yall a ball game. Sounds like next season the Trojans gonna be in a rebuilding year.
Maybe they are in that rebuilding year now.
Hardly a rebuilding year.  Navasota has a great team, losing to them is something that a lot of people are going to have to learn to live with this year.  LCM has a good team, but we played bad, turned the ball over too much, and got slaughtered by the refs.  Pre-district schedule was a beast.  This week district starts and the Trojans will be fine.
Next year's team will be fine as well.  The linebackers on this team are young, and will be back for a few years, JV and Freshman teams are slaughtering people.  Looking at the kids that are coming up, we should be good for at least the next 10 years barring any major coaching changes or some random disaster.  Coldspring is going to have the talent, it is just a matter of having the right coaches and schemes to match it.  We have a bunch of huge wood cutting country kids mixed with a bunch of speed.  Their is a 6th grader right now that is 6'1" and weighs 285 pounds.  Can't wait to see him in 7th grade football next year.  Heck, I can almost pick out the starting offensive line for the future from this year's 6th grade class.  As Barbay says, "We don't rebuild, we reload".

Getting Ready to start district play this week, and things in 22-3A look to have been shaken up a little.
What are your predictions for the final standings, and which teams go to the playoffs this year?
You guys gonna have trouble with Cleveland an Shepard is what i think. How many seniors on this Trojans team?
Cleveland game may be close, Shepherd won't be that close.  By my figuring, there are about 14 or 15 seniors on the team right now.  13 were starting last week, but 1 Offensive lineman was out for the season, and I think we lost another this week, possibly for the season.

Liberty sucks. Full of injuries, be interesting to see how this season goes. Hoping for A SINGLE WIN.

I know things aren't going the way you thought they would, but aren't you the one who has been complaining about everyone being negative on Liberty?
6. LCM played a great game.  Congrats to the bears.
As for the Trojans, they will be fine.  Don't give up on them just yet.  Hey, the passing game seemed to be better last night than at any time this year.  Two TD passes.  The fumbles are eating us alive, and the penalties last night were a killer.
It does amaze me though how fast people can turn on their team when things don't go as planned.  If you don't want to be a Trojan fan this year because they lost 2 games, fine.  That will make more room in our tiny bleachers at the 3 home games.  This loss was a let down, but it is not the end of the season.  They have played an extremely tough pre-district schedule and lost a couple.  Oh well, I guess we should fire the coaching staff and forfeit the rest of the games.  :-[ :-[  Yes they need to do a better job holding onto the ball, and maybe every play call wasn't perfect, but when they go deep into the playoffs, don't come crawling back talking about how great Barbay is and the great blocking, tackling, or running backs.
7. Polls don't mean anything on the field.  They are fun for the fans to discuss and that is about it.
Two years ago Coldspring didn't break into the top 10 until there were less than 10 teams left playing.  Even when the went to the Championship game they were ranked like 5th.  5th out of 2 teams is hard to do.  Now all of a sudden we start the year 2nd.  It is based too much on the past, and not on actual facts.  Most of the people voting have never seen most of the teams play.  How could they rank them acurately?  Heck most of the people voting couldn't find Coldspring on a map closer than to say it is in the woods of East Texas.
Enjoy the polls for giving us something to brag or gripe about and cheer for your team on friday.  Next week the polls change.
8. Stephenville goes big school.
Carthage goes big school.
Brownwood is in the middle of their district size wise.  Could go either way depending on who makes the playoffs.
Navasota is 2nd biggest behind Taylor.
Giddings is 2nd biggest behind Gonzales.
Waco La Vega goes big school.
La Marque is in the middle, but should go Div II.

Removes a few schools from Div II contention, but some others may be gone also.  Have to see how things shake out.

I still stand by my pre-season prediction of WO-S vs Brownwood in the 3A D2 State title game.  ;)
Although I am definitely cheering for Coldspring and looking forward to a trip back to the Championship Game soon, there are way too many great teams in our region to start trying to pick out the region champs just yet.  La Marque, Navasota, Coldspring, WO-S, Carthage, and some team that no one is giving any credit yet, could all make a run at state.  Between now and then, too many things can happen.  One injury, or a bad game in the playoffs against any of these teams could doom a state run.  However, how does Stephenville fit into the playoff picture in their region?  Do they go DI or DII come playoff time?  If they go DII, I have to say it is region III against Stephenville in the championship.

Not sure where people get their information, but Coldspring mainly lost Sherman Gilbert to graduation.  Most everyone else is back.  Trojans should win by 4 TD's.
Sherman was a big loss, we don't quite have the speed or experience in the backfield that we had.  Sherman was so fast that once he got loose, he was gone.  Losing Monroe at running back hurt some also, although I think Cooper may be better at the tough yards than Monroe.
Don't forget about Andries and Ked Harrison on defense.  Those two were almost a defense by themselves.  We still have a good defense, but without them, it is not destroying teams.

Sorry didn't list my source, it was myself.

Well i was being cool and just simply making a pick, but the fact of the matter is that Livingston won't schedule us because We would smash y'all like we did back in the 90's.  I just think Silsbee is a better team than Livingston.  You can believe Coach Barbay will have the boys ready for LCM
You don't have to be cool, you just need to understand this is not the 90's and the reason we don't schedule Coldspring is because we don't have anything to gain by beating up on our little sister. ;D ;)
Bull Spit! The reason ya'll don't schedule Coldspring is because your coach knows he would get spanked and it would make him look bad.  Barbay practically begged Rowe to play a pre-district game, so that we would not have to travel 2 plus hours every week to find a team that is not scared to play us.  Rowe was chicken and you know it.  Call it what you want.  We asked, ya'll refused!
