Not much being said by the Huffman folks.  I'm kinda disappointed.  They usually have a lot to say.  Well good luck to both teams tomorrow.  I think the Trojans will show some folks how good we really are.  That schedule to start the season was very difficult and it has helped us thus far.

Problem is that it looks like we will have to go back through those pre-season teams in the playoffs.  We should get 3rd place out of 21-3A for BiDistrict, but then I think it is LaMarque in round 2, and Navasota in round 3, followed by WOS in Week 4.  Should we get through that maze, semi finals and championship should seem easy.
2. Made the trip this summer.
Been trying to talk my wife into moving there ever since.
If you are bringing home fish, get them frozen and packed and bring them on the plane as baggage.  Much cheaper than trying to ship them back.  It is $40 or $50 for a checked bag (up to 50 pounds) on most airlines, and $8.00 a pound to ship it back.

I predicted shepherd by 21 but wow. I also predict they will beat Liberty by 7, Splendora by 14, and upset Cleveland by 6. Everyone is going to underestimate Shepherd's QB Everitt's running abiity.

This was a pretty impressive win by Shepherd, and I think they are getting better, but don't get carried away with them making the playoffs just yet.  They might compete with liberty and splendora this year, and may pull off 1 or 2 wins with these teams.  Beating Cleveland may not happen yet this year.  Good to see the other half of San Jacinto County getting better, and looking forward to an all San Jacinto county playoff game in the future.

It appears that part of the problem is a lack of coaches in the football program.  They really don't have middle school coaches, the varsity coaches all grades.  Long, long hours for these few men that are doing this and still teaching classes.  I see it every week.
Question, how many coaches do other schools Liberty's size have?
Coldspring has 9 high school football coaches that work with Freshman, JV, and Varsity.  We have 4 Jr. High coaches that work with the 7th and 8th grade.  Then, they help scout for high school.  All of the coaches except Barbay who is considered an administrator as Athletic Director teach classes all day along with coaching.

I can't wait to get on here later and see what kind of excuses and dumb crap my fellow Liberty folks have to say!

Huffman is good. Liberty isn't so good. It's simple!
You think kissing huffmans ace will get people to like you? ROFL. just sad. Huffman is far better than Liberty, everyone knew that going in. Point blank period. Liberty ran cover 2 all night and 6 different plays over and over on offense. Definitely a key to success. Still say they make playoffs and get blown away in the first round by whoever they meet.

Don't think so scooter!  Huffman, Coldspring, Cleveland!  Only 3 teams go.  No room for Liberty.
Your opinion is the gospel.
Nope, but let me know how it turns out at the end of the season.
Cleveland has a good team this year.
Coldspring has a good team this year.
Huffman has a good team this year.
Liberty does not have a good team this year.
My opinion, the 3 good teams go to playoffs.  They not so good team doesn't.  Is that easier for you to understand?

If Tarkington thinks last week was bad! Gonna be worse!
I'm afraid that will be the case. The main reason being that Coach Maple, last week, called off the dogs and played his reserves late in the 3rd and all the 4th qtr. This is a discipline that tends to escape Barbay.
Honestly Barbay is pretty good about calling off the dogs.  The only touchdown that Coldspring scored after half time on Shepherd was an accident.  It was a busted play and the running back reversed his field and went across the entire field to score from mid field.  Most of Coldspring's blow-outs from the past two years were done at half time.  I know it is bad to run up the score, but you also have to let your starters get some reps and conditioning in games.  Last week we would have had to pull the starters after 5 minutes to keep from running up the score.  That is not realistic.
However, I feel sorry for Splendora this year.  They pulled some crazy stuff during baseball season last year in Coldspring and I think they have a blow-out coming to them.

Are we talking about passing QB's? Cuz if we aren't if we are just talking QB's then i have to throw Montana Quirante in the pot.
Coldspring's QB Scott would also have to be in if we aren't simply talking passing yardage.
31 Wins 5 Losses as a starter.
Finals in '10 semifinals in '11.
He has an excellent arm, and great speed and quickness.  Coldspring is mostly a running team, but he is a big part of their success.  He doesn't have super numbers anywhere except the stat that counts - WINS.
9. Since we have some of the best minds in High School Football on this board, maybe ya'll can enlighten me.

If you stand no chance against an opponent.  You know going in that you are going to get spanked.  You start the game by letting the other team take the kickoff, and in 2 plays they have scored.

Why not throw in some trick plays?  Throw the ball deep down the field and pray?  On-side kick on the opening kick-off?  Fake a punt?  Try something different?

I don't understand why most coaches continue to try to run their regular offense and keep going 3 and out.  Our district seems stuck in this rut of insanity.  Doing the same thing over and over and expecting it to change.

10. WOS is one of the best 3A teams in SETX.  They will be around when the playoffs come, and then we will see if they are the best 3A team in our area.

I also can't say that they could absolutely beat all of the 4A or 5A teams around.  Who knows, there may even be a 2A team that could sneak up on the right night and beat them.

After watching the Trojan roller coaster this year, I am a firm believer that high school teams can win or lose on any given day.  Some teams are better, and will most often come out on top.  Some teams are worse, and will normally lose.  But, you never know.

Coldspring-69  Sheperd-7  Final
cs must have been angry about somthing!  ;D
Not really.  Shepherd just played like their normal self.  Turned the ball over constantly and had no defense.  Bad combination.  CS could have easily scored 100 points on them tonight.
