We held them very well at the end of the first half!! We held them within 3 yards of the end zone on all 4 downs!! Keep it up Pirates!!

Sending many prayers during this difficult time.  I have known Lori for many years and her sister, Jeannie, and Lori's husband sit right behind us during football season.  Prayers for the entire family.

I have always taken my kids about 6 in the evening instead of when it gets dark when it falls on a Friday.

I always HATE to hear about any injury to any of the players.  Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

I have always loved the fact that we pray before each and every home game, and I love the roar of "AMEN" throughout the stadium at the end.  Nederland is the first visiting team that I can ever recall cheering at the end of the prayer, and to that, I applaud all of you.

Very good article.  I completely agree with him.  Social media in the last 5 years has exploded and yes, it's a lot for some of these kids, heck even adults, to have to censor themselves but it is what it is when you are in that spotlight.

 

I have a friend of mine who plays in the NFL and I am friends with him on facebook.  Of course his FB blew up once he was cast into this huge spotlight.  Over the course of the last 2 years, not one time has he ever posted anything that was out of line.  In fact, everything he does post, has to do with his own success and articles that have been written about him and his teammates.  He was the same way in college. 

We have to stop our mistakes, penalties, fumbles and so on for this to be a close one.  With that said, my Pirates by 3.

I checked out his FB page after finding his post on the PNG Tribune page and he made one thing clear, he will never ref a NED game.  I agree though, he should of never expressed what he did on a public forum such as FB, etc. 

Yes, they raised the funds on their own to go, and they will have about an hour to enjoy the beach Friday evening.  They have a team meeting at 9:30 Friday night, then bed.  Jeff told them if they are caught out past curfew, the building better be on fire or they will not play in the game.
