  1. Just saw Coach Neumann on the Tailgate Party.  Confirmed what I've always thought of him, classy, as I think of Coach Matthews.

Also Bulldog fans, don't be to critical of your defense yet.  You played a tough pre-district, and remember the Pirates scored 28 pts (as I remember) on Channelview, and they're a pretty good ball club.  Perhaps your defense did a good job holding Vidor to 30.

We said the same when we watched him on the tailgate show. He gave major props to Vidor and Coach Mathews.

on a side note - it's even funnier to me watching him because he and my dad played HS football together in Houston. He's always been a class act.

  2. Being down 21-0 in the first 3 mins of the first quarter, you could tell our boys had their spirits down. Coach Mathews gave an excellent pep talk (I've never heard our stands dead silent) but it seemed like their heads just still weren't there. Second half starts and we come alive!!! Defense doing awesome things, offense doing great and slowly closing the gap on them!!

I can't be anything but proud of our boys and how they came back from being down 42-7 at halftime and come to within 21 points of them says something. I hate the first couple of plays resulted in CV being up by 21.

  3. This is sad, and the worst part is that they have multiple athletes to put on kickoff return to let catch these balls. If your guys drop 2 kick returns and dont even attempt to get on the first one, someone who can return kicks and have an idea of what's going on needs to put put there. Maybe one day vidor will teach these kids some ball skills, especially the ones who are going to possibly have the ball in their hands. pretty sure sean obannion is a coach there, let him teach the kids how you return a ball or a lil something about ball skills.

Berg is typically back there catching, he's out this week.

  4. Another pooch.  Fair catch called.  We fumble the ball.  CV ball on V 28.  TO #4.

they were not botched.  They were pooched. They do it every kick.  Should have been scouted.

I call it botched.... ;) Either way, the one we fumbled, the kid had no business backing up to catch it!! He knew he had a man behind him.

  5. After watching us play (and hold a close game until the last 5 mins of play) against Bay High a week ago, I was excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us!  Our boys held their own against some big 'ol boys that night!  The score was close until a few mishaps very late in the 4th.

We will surprise quite a few folks this year!
