Nederland, at home, playing for an outright district title which is something Neumann wants really bad. Nederland 28, Ozen 14. Ozen has some hosses and won't be denied the endzone but Nederland will roll to win district this year. I have to say I believe that Neumann is one of the best coaches in high school football and he knows how to draw up a game plan for the team he's playing. Props to him and his coaching staff. Ozen has coaching issues same as Central. No offense SoulJa.

And what is so funny is that Neumann did not play football all that great when he was in high school.  ;)

On another note, yeah I think Nederland will beat Ozen but I also think the Pirates will beat PNG.  It will come down to who has the ball last and it will be a nail bitter!!

And Jason Garrett was a backup to Troy Aikman and look where he is at now. It's not how well you play the game, but how well you know the game. When it comes to coaching. and It is Larry's time to get him that out right district title. Dogs are gonna roll on senior night.

And Tony Romo was a backup too, look how great that has turned out for the Cowgirls.  Gotta love Romo's 4th QTR chokes! LOL

May the best team win, that goes to all of the games played this week!

Well Yeah Romo is garbage, but I was just using that as an example about people might not play as well on the field, but they understand the game of football. Like Garrett does. I never knew how well Nuemann played when he was in school. But he understands the game of football very well.

I understood what you were saying, and yes, he is a great coach. He played high school ball out of Houston at Dobie High School, he played with my father. He and my father are good friends actually. Just thought it was a funny little tid bit.  ;)

I was reading this article earlier today and I almost cried. It is so awesome to know we have such great surrounding communities. I am positive that tonight as we Vidor Pirate Fans clap for our team as they walk on the field, Central will know we are also clapping for them as our way to say thank you tonight. Thank you so much to the Central Jags and for the outpouring of support you all have shown.

The idea around the blackout in 2009 had nothing to do with whether they were playing a home or away game. It just so happen to be home & senior night. The thought, from a football players point of few, was the thrill you get when you look into the stands and see all the fans wearing the same color. Blackout should be for every game.

Now, for tomorrows game, wear whatever you want to honor Matt and cheer loud and proud for your Vidor Pirates. I'm sure that's what he would have wanted.

Completly agree with you.  When my brother played years ago he would always say how awesome it was to look into the stands and see hundreds of people all wearing the same color.  Now that I am older with children of my own I love the fact that the boys can look into the stands and see one huge mass of Pirate Fans all wearing the same color as our wonderful Vidor Pirate Football Players! There is nothing like our Pirate Pride.  Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate.  Thank you to all of our surrounding schools and cities for all the support you have shown our town.  I thank Central especially, the young man, their Captian (I believe #63) represented Central very well yesterday.  :)

Honest mistake on the black/white out Sleepy. I talked to Jeff earlier and asked about black or white. He said as long as we are honoring Matt, that is all that matters to him and the team, honoring #28.
Also, white is our away game color, black is our home colors. Our game tomorrow (as we all know) is an away game. My "assumption" is that is why it would be a "whiteout" tomorrow. If you do recall I think in 2009 we did a blackout but it was a home game. Our boys should be wearing white jerseys tomorrow night.

Obviously, I'll never make a very good community organizer. :o
This idea was hatched and spread word of mouth amongst friends. It appears that many pursued the original blackout theme and another group (unknowingly and innocently) went the white tshirt route. Early on I had attempted several times contacting administration to coordinate the effort and just to make sure I wasn't stepping on toes. Needless to say, they have been extremely busy taking care of much more important things surrounding this sad event, taking care of the students. So I guess if anyone has more influence or better contacts/information then myself, let us know.
We still have a little time to see how this all works out; but, let's just remember Matt.
Soulja, I don't know if the shirts will be available at the game. There is a main number to the high school and they should be able to tell us. I'll try and find out later today and share that info.
Again, sorry for any confusion I've caused. I just wanted to help everyone get on the same page....which obviously hasn't happened.
Ok.  Let me know the information.
The shirts are available at the Vidor High School only I believe.  You can call 409-951-8900 (main number at the school) to verify.  I was told they will be sold to students during lunch and anybody wishing to purchase one that does not have a student in school can go to the front office to purchase one.
