The kids that Warren have playing give it all they got but they are going to have to get more upper classmen on the field in every sport if they are gonna turn things around.When you suit 18 players in a 2-a district and most of your skill players are under classmen you are gonna have a hard time being successful.Hopefully the numbers will improve and if they do the team will do the same.

I'm gonna have to get a program to keep up with him  ;D

Coach Williams will do a great job at Evadale.His style will be dictated by the type players he has.Evadale looked good in the Kountze league this summer. I don't know who they have in their district so I can't say if they will win it or not.They have some pretty athletic players but I don't know if they will have the true basketball players to make a deep run.I didn't see anyone close to 6'7" for them this summer.

Kountze's system will help them be successful year in and year out.McDaniel and the blonde headed kid that shoots the 3 will be their go to guys.I see them in a dogfight with Anahuac for the district title(which they win) but I don't think they have the big bodies to go deep this year.

One of the most respected football coaches in the state of Texas.Prayers go out the entire Newton community from the folks in Warren.RIP Coach.

Not sure how long it will take to get this program turned around.The majority of this club is extremely young but they don't suit but 18 players with very few upper classmen.I hope more of the kids buy in to the young coaches philosiphy,if they do we'll start seeing a better program in Warren.This is a brutal district for a young club to be playing in.

FYI= Coach Andrews sat beside a pretty good coach for years.You won't find a coach at any level that can't learn from someone but there is only enough room in the first chair for one person and that will be Andrews.Don't cut Anahuac short last year, they were in the regional finals and came real close to winning it.Hate to break it to ya blue but I don't think you were the reason for EC'S loss.

1. Newton- Never bet against the Eagles in this revamped district. 2.Anahuac-Panthers have turned the corner withe AD firmly in control now. 3.Hardin-They will shake things up with a versatile offense. 4.EC-If The QB is back at 100% this spot is interesting. 5.Buna- Not a turnovers difference in the 3/4/5 spots. 6.Woodville-Getting closer every year. 7.Kountze-Roll out the roundball 8.Warren-Real young and learning the basics. I think Hardins passing game will give the advantage for the 3rd spot but if Hank is back at full speed the edge will go to the home team in that head to head matchup,didn't look at the schedule so the pick is based on the EC QB situation.

Duane will have em ready.

This one was closer than I thought it would be.The Warren kids are very young and gritty.They will be fine as they get a little older.

He showed it by even trying to play that night but He tryed to play and was not able to finish. I'm right on by this one too. Kountze won the game and was there best team they had in a while. I will say only 2 down things that year was 1. Chad Morrison getting hurt early in season out for year and 2. No playoffs. [/quote]You said TT couldn't take the beating that night.It wasn't the beating he was taking it was an ankle sprain he could barely walk on.That may have been Kountzes best team in awhile but that year the district had some very good teams in it EC/Buna and Hardin were all very good.What do ya think about makin the Bball coach the AD??He knows how to run a successful program and make the kids buy in.

While watching Ohio State vs Miami I saw a familiar face playing TE for the Canes. Chase Ford from Corrigan was wearing #9 and was on the big stage.Last week it was Vance McDonald drawing praise for his play with the Rice Owls.Congrats to both these kids.They both did it the right way.These days when we so many getting coverage for the wrong reasons this is refreshing.

Kountze has the answer to their problems already there.Make Duane the AD and give him a free reign with BOTH programs.He won't play politics and you'll be amazed how quick the kids will buy in.Pay the man what he's worth to the district or you're gonna lose him to someone that will.FYI questioning Tramain Thomas toughness is ludicrous.TopDawg you are usually right on but I think you're talking with your heart on that one.JMO

The residency rules are pretty cut and dried as far as the UIL goes.Kids who move can be required to set out for a calendar year but then the old coach has no control over them being released.The ones that don't move are the ones that are usually not given the opportunity to play.FYI kids who move repeatedly looking for a place to play usually find out why they aren't playing in the first place.

[/quote]Which one was winnable???This group of kids have 21 players dressing out and a large number of them are sophomores.Not sure where all the upper classmen are but they are bound to be a bunch that aren't playing.
