  1. Voicing your opinion and talkin smack are two different things. 09 talked smack along with yakity yak and now, must eat crow. So boys.... how do ya' like your bird??
  2. I gotta agree Spinks. Best year overall for the area. SETX is very dominant this year, even though none of the teams are any good. (sarcasm) I think the teams are great and are representing the area very well. But there always has to be someone wanting to throw a damper on someone else's bubble. Ever seen the commercial about the one-upper??
  3. Worst concession food ever was at Hull Daisetta about 6 years ago. Simply due to the fact that the chicken strips gave me the skitters!!
  4. I'm goin with my boys on this one, as always. Hope its a great game. Anybody got some numbers Cayuga or how they fared this year in basketball?? Schedule?? scores?? record?? I'm workin nights and I think I can make it from Fort Worth. Don't want to miss this one. As for Martin's Mill, I think they'll probably pull it out over Big Sandy, but they better not have an off game. Every time I have seen Big Sandy, they have been so fundamentally sound, it was scary and thier hussle is un-freakin-real. Good luck to all, and how bout them Oilers!?
  5. Just out of curiosity, what kind of talnet do these guys have?? What are the height, weight and 40 times of some of the players. Is it like a semi pro team or a step up from that???
  6. Eat em' up Oilers. It don't matter if they dont' have any returning, when WH and HD play, its a dogfight. Love the intensity of this matchup. Always have, always will. I think Sabine Pass might surprise a few folks and Evadale has had their share of surprising teams in the last few seasons also. But, I think the two to watch will be HD and WH and I'm stickin by my boys on this one and sorry High Island, its been a few years since ya'll had much goin for ya'll. Guess the hurricane got em'. I remember when High Island was to be taken seriously on the field and court.
  7. After a first round bye and beating Avalon 71-32 in the second round, I'm not sure how they fared against Blum. Please let me know if you find this out, Yard Bird. -Thanks
  8. HOOOORAAAH!! ..... He He ..... I'm a nerd. :-[
  9. Good job so far Ozen. Hope to see ya' pull out an upset this week. Take it to em' baby. SETX all the way!! (Huntsville is across 59, on 45, that don't count) that's kinda ESETX
  10. Good Job Oilers. Way to get the W. Congrats. Clean it up a lil' and we'll see you in Austin. I'm thinkin the boys got a lil' excited tonight and threw the ball away too much tonight. Coulda been the entire bleachers painted blue, but it should be like all the way as far as you boys go. ;D Elite Eight Baby. 3 more wins gets the title, but lets take it one game at a time.
  11. I think its kinda tough to go off of one night for this award, but this is the performance that is the freshest in everyone's mind. Noone is even mentioning kids that weren't there last night. Seems as if anyone could have been hot last night and got player of the year. And yeah, Letsinger looked a little more like Lead-slinger last night. He didn't hit a three he attempted or any free throws. I've never said he deserves POY, but he is competing against a very tough few. Based on his performance throughout the year, its hard to deny him at least an honorable mention. I think he's more of an MVP than POY, most valuable player to his team.West Hardin would have a tough time doing what they do without him. When WO-S keyed in oh him and was able to shut him down to very few points, especially in the second half, it got ugly and sloppier for WH. Four out of five times he passed the ball off it eventually resulted in a turnover, or a missed/forced shot. So, once again, its hard for me to agree with folks who are giving this "award" who are saying stuff like, "based on the performance last night" or "after last night, there is no doubt" We're not even remembering all of the other awesome talent from schools that weren't even there last night.
  12. WO-S is a a very potent team and has some good players in all areas. They seemed to have the edge on West Hardin in a few areas, but I think in a two or three game series in their usual setting, West Hardin might be able to eek one out or make a nail biter out of it. Am I the only one at the game tonight who saw that?? I know the Oilers couldn't have shot better than 20% including open shots and free throws. Aside from that, good game to both. Very classy match up. Very sloppy, but still, very classy. Wish I could see that stats on this game. Any body got any close tally's. I'm just a little curious.
  13. C'mon Oilers. You're better than that... The game was very sloppy on both sides of the ball. I wish someone would get me the shooting percentage from West Hardin, it couldn't have been better than 20%. From the floor or from the line. Yuck. Hard to watch. You're gonna have to be able to make them open shots and free throws in the playoffs, or you won't last. Going into this game, I thought, okay, keep it respectable and you will be able to hold your head up. After watching it, I wish these two teams would have played a series. One game at West Hardin, one at WO-S. It wasn't that big of a mismatch, just poor shooting and very sloppy play. WO-S was very physical and athletic, but the game should have been closer. Anyone who saw it, would have to agree a little at least. I would like to see them play again, but it doesn't matter now. Hope the bugs get worked out, and ya'll can play with anyone. If not, well, it'll be baseball time next week. Good luck guys. Still luv ya blue!! P.S. Once again, don't mean to be harsh. I just know what ya'll are capable of.
  14. Whoa... didn't think he was reading that. :-[ Hey Coach, good luck tonight. Best of luck to you and your boys in the playoffs. You've got some serious athleticism there. Nah, I definatley never hated you. You helped me deal with the Funderberg tyranny. Anyway, I'll be watching tonight. Oh yeah, and if could tell your brother, hatcher said "whuzzuuup!?" I'd appreciate it.
  15. Anybody watch the 1st round 1A playoff game in Silsbee this last year when West Sabine played West Hardin. From the beginning of the game to early in the fourth quarter, the Oilers from West Hardin looked out matched by the 3-8 underdogs who had lost all of their games to powerful 2-A teams like hemphill and timpson. When they weren't being out played, they were shooting themselves in the foot, stalling on 3 drives, 2 inside the Tigers' 20. One on a penalty and one on a dropped touchdown pass that was right on the numbers. It was a persuasive 28-0 West Sabine with about 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Out of hope, I suppose, friend of mine looked at me, shrugged his shoulders and said,"stranger things have happenned." But the tigers seemed too disciplined and too fast. With the outcome seemingly certain, I was digging for my keys in my pocket .......and then it happenned. Spurred by an awesome punt return for a TD, West Hardin went on a tear. They got the ball back, and just like that, the sluggish offense comes to life. A routine screen pass goes for 60 yards. He looks at me and says again,"stranger things have happenned!" with a little more confidence. On three quick drives following the punt return, and shutting West Sabine down, despite a blown assignment for a score, it was 34-30 with about a minute left West Hardin set up to kick an onside kick, and there wasn't a single seat that wasn't empty for everyone was on their feet. My buddy yells,"Stranger Things Have Happenned!!". By now, I was a believer. The kick comes off the tee perfect, and takes its bounce. And after a second that seemed like an eternity an Oiler falls on it. We're all screaming! One ref signals, its Oiler's ball, and we're going nuts!! But then, another ref comes over. He he had a better view. He says an Oiler touched it before it went 10 yards. He had a better seat than I did, so I'm not questioning his call, but it was very debatable from where I sat, to say the least. Lets just say it went 9 1/2 yards. Yes, it was that close. Tiger ball, an they run the clock out. 34-30 West Sabine was the final. I could watch the 4th quarter of that game over and over and not get tired of it. Probably the best ending to a football game, I have ever seen, even though my boys lost, it was an awesome, hard fought finish for both sides.
  16. whaddya think wildcat 08?? this is your forum, and I'm curious to hear yours.
  17. Dunno. Its a toss-up. Hope its a barn burner! I used to hate playing at the montagne, at first. Your perspective is off when looking at the goal. Enough to make a first timer airball a 10ft. jump shot. :-[ Its way different than playing in a gym, but on the other hand, the goals seem low, and the floor springy. Even ol' whitey here slid a few dunks in in warm up in there. ;D
  18. Yeah, they should just cancel their game with EC and smoke Lamar tonight... Lemme guess, they could, right!? ....and why even play the playoffs, you know they are gonna win cause their five is just way better than any other five in South East Texas. YOU KNOW THIS, MANNN!!!
  19. I've thought about that one too. It heart my head after a while, so I figured I would put a little effort into this one. Its like, for it not to make a sound, there couldn't be any critters either. Cause critters can hear, but where there's vegetation, there's critters. So no vegetation either, and what kind of a forest ........ OUCH!! ........See!! :'(
