  1. I agree, and that's why they play the games. All it will take is one off game and you've got Anahuac sneaking in with every team in the district getting two losses. I'm all about small schools and I'm more excited about this district race than I am about any other. This is one of the most competitive district (distance between top and bottom team) in the State.
  2. Oh yeah... I think Buna could handle Corrigan. Hardin-Buna is going to be a good one!!
  3. Yes they do. I wouldn't call it an upset, either. Its gonna be a shootout. I was impressed with them tonight.
  4. Evadale by 4 scores... at least. Legacy's fundamentals are not very sound and Evadale looks to be pretty competitive this year.
  5. 3rd spot? ...I'm thinking Hardin might sneak in at least at #3, and I'm not ruling them out for the top two spots. They've got potential. Kountze seems well rounded, but I haven't seen them in action. I'm curious to see how West Hardin fares against them.
  6. ??? ??? ??? This is an old Rivalry that is rarely lopsided. This year was expected. West Hardin has made the playoffs the last 4 or 5 years straight and Groveton is constantly a playoff contender. No one is giving Hardin credit. Their run and gun offense is going to give everyone they play fits. Nolan is very poise. He sits calmly with a blitz in his face and hits his receiver, knowing he's going to get hit. West Hardin is having a down year. They WILL make the playoffs this year and the WH-HD matchup is still going to be a good one!! Hardin is a good team this year. This is a fact people need to accept. They will make a run for the playoffs this year. Bet on it!! Congrats Hardin. Your boys looked good tonight.
  7. 70+ yards, wind aided or not, is freakin unbelievable. WOW!!
  8. Close game and I agree, Thomas has speed and is very elusive. I think this one is a toss-up. If HF can shut him down, they win, if not, EC takes this one. I was hoping WH would play Hardin Saturday so I could go watch this one. P.S. When's our next road trip, Brent?
  9. Agreed. Kirbyville is playing some ball this year. Wow!! your karma is pretty awful.
  10. From what I've seen, Liberty has had problems beating Stafford in the past. I look for it to be much closer this year. I hope the Panthers can pull out a win. Go Panthers!!!!
  11. Man, I thought we were gonna take a licking. We were in Beaumont with the winds gusting over 50mph and got outta there. We came home and hunkered down but nothing more than a nice breeze over this way. I can't believe that thing formed in 14 hrs. I bet the wind never got over 15 mph at West Hardin School and probably less at Hardin.
  12. ....keep in mind, this is all in good fun, fella's.
  13. Drug testing is overrated. ;D And I ain't jumpin on the band wagon, I'm just saying Buna is playing some ball this year. All I said was,"I think Buna could handle Corrigan." Its my opinion and I'm sticking to it. However, there'll be no concrete proof until the playoffs if, by some remote chance, these two butt heads. P.S. CC - 28 Tarkington - 0 Hardin - 39 Tarkington - 0 ....Guess Hardin couldn't play with the almighty bulldogs of Corrigan either.
  14. This is a confidence boosting game for Deweville. They will have this game in hand by the half, and their second string will score a few in the second half too. The cardinals have been playing for pride the last few years.
  15. I think scheduling WH and HD (on an average year) are just like scheduling Warren, Hardin, Deweyville, and Buna. All 6 of these teams have butted heads in the recent past and the score turned out different nearly every year. Hardin and Buna are flying high so far this year, but its not like Newton trying to play Chester.(Sorry, Chester. Ya'll got heart)
  16. What's that suppose to mean? I'm only elaborating on what I saw. WH will do fine in their own district, I would just like them to get past the first round. I love to watch them do good, what's wrong with that?? You know as well as I do, West Hardin has never won a playoff game. And for sure, when I played was not the Glory Days at West Hardin, by no means.
  17. HD by 6 touchdowns, I agree. WH scored at will in the game situation half. It was 26-0 while even playing the second string. Legacy has got some good athleticism but their defense takes horrible persuit angles and besides the linebackers, noone wants to hit. They get excited if someone makes a big hit after the other team gains 30 yards. I think Legacy's quarterback will get sacked at least 6 times and throw 4 ints... He gets nervous... On a good note for Legacy, they do have raw talent, it has yet to be molded, though.
  18. I'm thinking Woodville in a pretty close game, but I don't see them scoring higher than the twenties. Warren has got a pretty tough D.
  19. It would be great if they could, but the reason a team doesn't look that good is because they play a team that is pretty good also. Kountze was matched up pretty close with HD but Kountze came up with the plays needed to come out on top. I don't think Evadale has the athleticism to play with Kountze, but I'm pulling for Evadale. That being said, an over-confident Kountze comes out flat, but by the end of the night, the Lions by 3 scores.
  20. Deweyville is a good school with players that have a lot of heart. I think they would do good in 1-A, but wouldn't wreck shop like everyone thinks. We always played them just a few years ago and they played us one heck of a game, but we usually won. It was kind of like playing Warren, though. Who ever won, it was rarely a blow out. A state football team in the state of Texas can usually play with a state team in 1 to 2 classifications above them. Like last year, Alto.. they could have played with any 2-A and almost any 3-A team out there. In the state of Texas, you can't just drop a class and go to state unless you were a near-state contender in your previous class. Newton dropped the right year. Toddrick Penland was a manchild, but they still didn't blow everybody out in the playoffs, and they would have went far in 3-A play offs that year. The coach said 2-A is easier than he though it might be, but he was loaded and didn't realize it, I guess. Now they have problems getting past the 2nd round. Yeah, I agree the average team, has more talent in a larger classification, but the cream of the crop is hard to beat at any level.
  21. I think the Cougars could handle Corrigan-Camden this year. Buna looks to be playing better than them this year.
