  1. East Chambers, in a game that doesn't end as close as a lot of people think. Should be a great one to watch!!
  2. Corrigan is not having a down year. They are near the top ten in 2-A or at least receiving votes. Groveton is a good team. I'm telling you, watch out for Hardin!!
  3. Why does everyone rip on them for playing a weak schedule?? Tarkington is having a down year. There are years that they are pretty darn tough and competitive for a playoff spot in their 3-A district. H-D was in Buna's district a few years ago, and they have back and forth battle of who won each year. Like I said in the Deweyville thread, the coach has their own reasons for doing what they do and scheduling who they play. Buna is good this year, but they are catching a lot of crap for beating schools by a bundle (who are suddenly perceived as bad) recently instead of getting praised for winning and being good.
  4. Defensive Coordinators in 24-AA are getting restless. Preparing for this sort of offense is a pain in the you know what. Especially if the team is good at running it. If anyone shuts Hardin out, I will be very, very impressed. I'm serious, I see them making a run for district this year... Watch What I Say.
  5. Marsh from Hardin is a big, stong kid. He's fast and runs hard. I haven't seen the others play so I don't feel right voting on this topic, but I know he is a player any coach around would love to have on his team.
  6. Do Not Lose 6 Fumbles in the 1st Half Against Daisetta if you plan on blowing HD out. They have athletes, and given enough chances, athletes can make things happen. I didn't say HD would hang with Buna. I don't think they can, but if Buna loses the ball that much, Watch Out!! H-D ain't Tarkington.
  7. I agree, High Island has always had a great bunch of kids. Just been tough one them the last couple of years. Give em' Hell Cards!!
  8. Alto is a beast. They would be competitive at a most levels. I'm thinking a playoff contender through 4-A at least. Seriously, don't knock it until you have seen these guys. They look like a big school with a stud at every position. 6'+ receivers at nearly every spot. 4.4 guys all over the place. 400 to 500lb squatters on the line. Spooky for 1-A teams. Pray for the division or playoffs they aren't in.
  9. WH can play with any team in their district and I give them a 98% chance of making the playoffs. Their difficult schedule (especially this year) will help them gear up for the district run. The offense will have to pick it up to get past the first round. We've got to find some playmakers and some heart. Play scrappy and knock some heads, boys. That's what you're known for anyway.
  10. Its the only way to go. Football is extra-curricular. Kids who love football but not school try harder in school to play football. If it weren't for sports, some of these kids get not motivation at all to even stay in school. Their mindset is okay, I'll drop out when I'm 18 and get a 40k job a year anyway busting my butt. But with sports, going into the next level, they get motivation to stay in school and even go to college. Again, its a lot of these kids' only chance.
  11. Every coach has his reasons, including the Deweyville coach for playing who they play. Confidence, maybe. Letting his back-ups get a feel for the game, possibly. Its like 4 weeks of practice against a slightly tougher version than their own JV. You have less chance for injury against these weaker schools too. I'm not going to knock them. They have been in the playoffs the last few years. Lets see how this year pans out. That being said. Deweyville big. 48-12 or better. The ajax men will get a lot of playing time in the 2nd half.
  12. Buna by 4 scores. They won't be able to play with the Coogs this year any better than last year, but it ain't Burkeville. By that, I mean they (Buna) probably won't get out of the forties and Daisetta scores a couple of times. I'm not picking this to be close, just closer than Buna's last couple of games.
  13. To blow out the Oilers, you're probably gonna have to pass the ball. These boys can stop a pretty signifigant running game. Their offense isn't explosive, but they will hammer away until they get a score. I'll say for the first time in years, Kountze is favored in this game, as everyone probably knows. But I'm taking my boys in blue, WH-18 Kountze-15. P.S. If I had an un-biased opinion it would probably go with Kountze 22-12, but I don't. ;D
  14. Ha ha. I'm still chuckling at the short between the seat and keyboard. That's good stuff.
  15. Yeah, I know. I should have done the same. When people usually come back at you to argue, they nit pick on small technicalities and run with it like a lawyer and not address the whole topic of the thread. I suppose it makes them feel as if they won. Regardless..... this is some funny stuff. ;D
  16. Ewwww. Dis one gets bad!! Hurricane Hardin.... big. :-\
  17. Why is Silsbee trying to beat up on the smaller Newton this week?? ;D
  18. If 4A teams have hard times with Dayton this year, it makes the WOS victory sweeter, all the more. I root for WOS every year in the playoffs and i'm not knockingthem, but I'm an underdog kind of guy. That's why I loved seeing them beat the broncos. I'm pulling for Lumberton in this one, though my prediction will rest solely with me.
  19. I'll get rattled for this one, but WOS and a 1A team like Alto would be a game I would love to see for all of the skeptics. This will not happen, probably ever, but just to prove a point, I'd love to see it.
  20. Ummmmm.. okay. School pride is great... but being delusional is not looked upon as a positive.
  21. Thanks for the stats... Not to be critical, but how can you have 21 1st downs with only 155 yards??
