  1. I'm looking for Buna or Hardin to upset EC. Kountze even has a shot shutting down the always speedy, Tenaha. This District is shaping up to be a shootout. Warren doesn't seem to have an offense to stay in competition in a high scoring affair, but their defense is pretty stingy. I'm not ruling any of these teams out. Buna by a bundle.
  2. ....This year. I won't argue that. We'll get a little better look when Warren plays Buna. If it is a close one, we might rethink this one, if not... Buna might be able to rack up some points.
  3. I hoping ths "year of the under dog" carries over the NFL. How bout them Texans so far!!
  4. After watching tonight, I'd say Buna would win this year handily. Probably 3 scores between the two schools.
  5. Its from the movie, 300. Leonitis screams, Spartans, what is your occupation!? they reply OWUU!! 3 times.
  6. Oilers better find some offense. I hope B.J. Meche can make a difference when he gets back in there at fullback. Defense is hard to run against... but pass defense hasn't shown up yet. Very frustrating to watch Warren run 4 button hook routes to the same receiver on the same drive and get fifteen yards a play on them. Somebody better step it up boys, or it'll be another 1st round and out!! Good luck Oilers!! You're gonna need it in Hardin next week. Them boys are playing some good ball.
  7. Hardin can air it out, and West Hardin can't stop the pass. This is going to be one of those lopsided years, I'm afraid. Hardin by 3 scores.
  8. Yeah, Ben Wilkerson. That was him. I was playing Strong Safety, trying to line up the running back in my sights. When the cornerback turned him inside, I had a killshot.... but I got earholed by big ben. He had already sat one of out d-linemen on his butt and came after me. He had so many pancake blocks it wasn't even funny. And he didn't stop there, he went hunting heads. He was a 600lb squatter in High School. But on top of that, a really nice guy.. after the game. He grinned and shook my hand. "Steve, that had to of hurt." I laughed and replied "is that all you've got?" wincing all the while. ;D
  9. Whoooaaa Nelly!! I didn't see us driving nearly as well as Groveton. When it came down to the end of the game, it was a tight one though.. Too many mistakes and false starts. Couldn't punch it in from twelve yards out. I even saw the O-line get into an inter-team tussle inside the huddle. It was caused by frustration. I would consider that rusty. If the O-line doesn't protect a little better, this could be a long game. If they come out firing off the ball, West Hardin can pull it out. I'm very excited, and warming up my lungs right now. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!????????
  10. Buna would probably have the upper hand this year... but I don't see the blow out people were speaking of early in this thread. As for when they played Buna, it was always a good one to watch. A very close, hard hitting, scrappy game. I wouldn't count the Oilers out, but its easy for anyone to talk smack, due to the fact that they couldn't eat crow this year.. The two don't play. I do agree though... I would like to see this one.
  11. I don't know man, I know, at one time, we were a pretty solid 2A team and they would show up with about 14 to 18 guys total and would smack us around pretty good. Several years I can remember dreading the "Burkeville" game.
  12. I'm from West Hardin... I.. uhhh.. don't have one. ...Yet!! And I mean YET!
  13. Dang!! Good Job Hornets! Dis has definately got me a little nervous.
  14. Burkeville ain't what they used to be... Prediction-Buna. fo-shizzy.
  15. Some fellow from Hemphill who must've had a license plate on his butt jacked me up once... to this day my ears still ring. He got a ring at LSU and went on to the Bengals, I think. Can't even think of the guys name.. if that tells u anything.
  16. After an impressive win over Tarkington, I'm gonna take Hardin, but don't get me wrong, in a few weeks, i'm still gonna be backin them Oilers. Groveton loves to stunt the linebackers and always sends a man in motion that cracks back on the linebacker or end as they sweep. They have speed and are pretty well balanced. The quarterback has a gun, while the receivers have iron mitts (in the rain.) On a dry field, who knows. Its anybodies game.
  17. BH ... by 10 ...errr...7 Barbers Hill, nonetheless.
  18. Athleticism is the key word for this game. I've heard from many people that H-D is fast and Kountze always has athletes, however Kountze usually excels in basketball with their athletes jumping out of the gym and not sprinting across the football field. I'll take Daisetta by a touchdown, but not looking for either to score a pile of points. These two teams are usually very similar as are WH-Warren, who will also take the field this week. We got two great games shaping up here folks!!
