Vidor has a belief in each other right now. They are playing with intensity, passion, and executing their game plan! If the Raiders plan to compete and be in a position to get the upset, they must meet the Pirate's intensity, passion, and execution! They must mentally decide if they want it as bad as the Pirates do. Must not strive for perfection, but for excellence in their execution.

Everyone chunking Vs up, its a nationwide epidemic lol

Black and Gold was the toast of the night, but who would win in this physical fight
Many times in the past Vidor has taken the lead, late in the 4th the defense they'd need.
Nederland with history on their side would snuff out the hopes and send Vidor on a long ride.
On this warm night at the Bulldogs home field The tension for Vidor began to build.
Late in the 4th Nederlands kicker was there a made field goal would only add to their despair. 
As the kick flew out there was change in the air the kick missed wide to Nederlands despair.
This battle royal ended 21 all To overtime we go to see who would fall.
 With Vidors defense set with its look 3 plays later letting  Nederland off the hook.
The crowds were wild as Vidor readied their O a touchdown a must or this chance they would blow.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd didnt go so well but on fourth they did not fail
A new set of downs was all that they cared Vidor was tough they were not scared.
Three more plays and another fourth did appear what would they do what crowd would cheer. 
The play came out another run thought most but a pass from Vidor shocked their host.
With six points on the board thoughts did apear In Jeff Matthews head he showed no fear. 
Coach Matthews decided this is no place for the weak. The Vidor crowd was yelling lets end this streak.
Out of the blue there came an I. The Nederland defense wasnt ready for the surprise.
The ball was snapped and 2 points was made On this night history was weighed.
As per usual Black and Gold would win, but on this night it was Vidor who would grin.
Friday night football is an awesome sight, this is why they come they play they fight.
Nederland should leave heads held high Vidor was better for this one night.

Sportsfan, I didn't say they were so bad and if you know so much, you should be able to tell the same thing. I think we will match up with png way better than y'all. Memorial is a whole different animal. I'm not a sore loser. I already congratulated vidor with no strings. Maybe some on here should act like they have been here before. Y'all win the game last night and it was legit. No matter penalties, injuries, or turnovers, Vidor win. Congrats once again.

Matthews is a class act!! I said it before, but I was impressed when y'all played central, every time a central player went down to injury coach Matthews was out on the field checking on him. That's a man who loves the game and loves the kids.

OK Pirates, we're sailing the Black Pearl to nederville with the best all around backfield I've seen us have ever. Quirante, Humble, Stogner and of course Leckelt (who will break Tim Hagler's record this year) are averaging 450 yards per game and haven't punted in three weeks. Our defense is playing to 2012 form. Our cheerleaders are prettier. Our band is better. You have the talent. So, let me bring y'all back to earth: you're down 7 - 0 right now. Don't believe me? Where did you play nederville last year (hint: puppy pile stadium)? Where y'all playing this year (hint: puppy pile stadium). You're gonna have to defeat the officials, their football team and a bunch of booger eating morons barking at you from the nederville stands. Maybe sometime in the 2020's we'll get a home game against these clowns (I think we deserve two in a row like them) but for now, it's time to lace 'em up tight and hit somebody hard. I'm calling you seniors out: this is your opportunity to knock nederville out of a playoff spot and your last time to play them. We are the TRUE BLACK AND GOLD! I said rivalry as a joke. Should be good but the rivalry is waiting for us at the end of the road. And no matter how well they play or what they say, png people are nervous to play us. I agree. I couldn't figure out whether we were talking about week 7 or week 11.

Montana was moved up as a freshman and started as a LB towards the end of the 2009 season. So, for sure he was playing as a starting LB in the 2010 season. He did not begin play at QB until 2011 as a junior.

Been quite a few years since Vidor's had a decent pass defense.  But if the Pirates control the ball, Ned won't be throwing to many passes.  One thing for sure, be plenty of black & gold.

Yeah i was at the game last year vidor was running all over ned they couldn't stop them,and with a minute left in game vidor was going to score to win with out a doubt they fumbled the ball on about 18yard line with a bad hand off or vidor won that game,ned better have an answer for that run or its over they chew clock down on you while your off is on sidelines watching,lol

Man give it up. Vidor hasn't called it a rivalry in years. It's a good game that we always play hard but rivalry? No.

Nederland fans spend more time arguing and convincing themselves that this isnt a  big game every year, Vidor fans mentioned rivalry about a decade ago and some Ned fans cry about it every year.  Just enjoy the football and be glad we'll have an electric atmosphere everytime these two play.  Vidor brings a fun and solid fan base and plays hard nosed football, lets just enjoy this matchup.

Well said.  Any team in the district would be happy to have a win over Nederland due to the Bulldogs' success since Coach Neumann has been there.   The matchup doesn't need to be a true PNG vs Nederland type rivalry game for fans of the opposing team to enjoy a victory.  And yes, for the past 5 years Nederland has set the bar for success in this district.
