Worst officiating crew I've seen in a while. The game should've never been close enough for it to matter though. My hats off to Trinity. They definitely came to play tonight. We were fortunate they missed that extra point. Get it together Cats. Next week is huge.

Thanks for your response @Ragin Cajun!! I am glad Coach Barbay is working out for the Newton Eagles. He was a great coach while he was at Coldspring. Wish you guys the best. I just think the players, fans, & parents did not buy into his system & did not respect him anymore. I am glad he is working out for Newton Eagles!! Well my point exactly. If Porter can't beat a (4A) WOS team, then how in the hell could they even be in a conversation about being the best team in Texas. Yea I know about the depth of these bigger schools and what kind of athletes they have. I do not need a lesson. If you needed to get in a dig at WOS they do it on your own. I am not from there but I still say Porter could not beat them. As far as Porter's QB being better than Jack Dallas, I doubt it. Not only could Dallas beat him on the football field, he then could strike him out on the baseball diamond then hit a homerun off of the Porter QB if he tried to pitch to him.

My point with Barbay is that if you win games some of the small things can and will be overlooked. Every team in the state of Texas has some cracks in it. Sometimes it is the coaches and sometimes it is the players. From the outside looking in, The Coldspring team last year was not a well coached team, they still had a lot of the kids from Barbay's time on it and that helped them last year. Now you are in the full year of this coach and this team is not coached well at all. When you do not make adjustments, the kids do not play with the same passion and fire (that everyone is accustom too) and you loose that "it" factor then things are different. Most from Coldspring will say it is a lack of good quality players. I will have to call BS on that, Colspring has the quality of players they need, this runs much deeper than that. Like I said this is just my $.02 so take it for what it is worth. I do agree with you about Coach Peveto, as bad as we wanted to be him and his teams he was one of the great ones.

So what this Coldspring loss says to me is, Coldspring will be looking for a new HC and maybe a new Supt. for running off Barbay. I'm just taking a guess at this, but losing to Shepherd and now not winning district, will not sit well with the folks in Coldspring.
 
Disclaimer: I am not starting a rumor, I am stating what I believe will happen. So take it for what it is worth.

We need the real CS team to show up to a "flat" Wdvl team week 10. Buna defeat Kvl and let all the math begin!!!! 

Ok so someone please correct me if I'm wrong..
If Kirbyville beats Buna, that'll create a 3 way tie between Kirbyville, Buna and Coldspring which would take it to a point spread tie-breaker.
Right now, Coldspring is a +7 (12pt win, 5pt loss) So in order for us to take 2nd place we'll need to be at a +8...which means we need to beat Buna by 20 or more (20pt win, 12pt loss) That would put us #2, Coldspring #3 and Buna #4.
If we beat Buna, but by less than 20, then Coldspring goes as #2, us #3 and Buna #4. 
If we lose to Buna, then they'll go as #2, Coldspring as #3 and us #4. 
This is all of course assuming Woodville continues their dominance and beats Coldspring, and nothing else crazy happens when these 4 play the non-playoff picture teams.

No excuses from this Coldspring Trojan fan!! Buna Cougars wanted it more, they did what it took to secure the win.  Congrats to the Buna Cougars great win!!! The 1st time we ever played you guys but you all brought your A-Game and deserve to win!!!

In the Celina vs Community highlight which can be found on Max Preps. You can view a clip which at the 1:38 mark clearly shows the Celina Qb (Pingleton) walk over to the pile and stomp on an opposing players ankle by placing all of his weight on it. The Community player tries to get up but is in too much pain to do so and when I saw the video my mouth dropped that he would even do something like that. What is worse is the Celina faithful on Fox Sports Friday Football app that are actually trying to blow it off and that is down right sad. I hope the UIL gets a hold of the video and sends out a message that intentionally hurting another player is not to be taken lightly. What was he thinking and why did he do it?

I was bored, so I went and viewed Liberty's win/loss history. I didn't count it out , but it appears we have played Dayton and Hull-Daisetta , then Cleveland, more than any other teams in our history. It's been a long time since we have played dayton since they moved up a classification, and it's been awhile since we have played Daisetta since they moved down. We played Dayton a total of 52 times in our history more than any other team, HD and cleveland were close I didn't count it out. Now I know other factors go into a "rivalry" not just how many times we have played but I would say dayton being the next town over only separated by the trinity river, i would say that is a rivalry. But that's not why I made this thread I wanna know how many games yall think it even takes to start a rivalry, and if you guys would consider HJ and Liberty a rivalry game, with 37 meetings between the 2 teams, Liberty leads 22-13 with 2 ties, met in the first round of the playoffs twice and were in the same district for several year, and are now in the same district again.

buna is better than i thought they would be but woodville wins 44-20

Kountze Will have it tough whenever you lose a player like Grayland Arnold but they have some nice talent returning 
T.J Stanford. One of if not the best shooter in the area along with a lot of good role players like Dante Carey Jeremiah Barker Marcus Harford.. But will need a big season from Tiger Edwards and not sure if Michael Cole will play 

Madisonville:  10-2 overall against Shepherd
So, I would agree that Madisonville always plays Shepherd "Tough."

I've seen both play and I do think Woodville is two scores better but that's just my opinion.  How games have you seen either play?

Actually y'all did have a chance against Kirbyville. Now do I think y'all can beat Coldspring? Yes . Will y'all ? Possibly. Will y'all blow them out? No.

That's gonna be a no. We competed very well with Coldspring despite the odds against us with so many key players out. We never once were in the game against yall. CS earned this win...no complaints or whining on our end and all due respect to CS. But they won't beat Woodville. It'll be a 3+ score win for yall.

Grate game Trojans enjoyed it. Proud of the Kats they played hard and gave it all they had.  
Not having #1 Erving # 5 Smith #28 Reeves #34 Adam's  and #7 Fentress (didn't practice all week but tried to play),  big #70 Z.O. tried to play too but just not ready, and #85 Diggers looks like pretty serious shoulder injury early, made for a tough week against a good Trojan team. 
But CS earned it and did what it took to get a well deserved win  on the road.  Congrats 
 
 

How in the world do you get 5 penalties for too many men on the field???? One is understandable. It sometimes happen with high school kids, but five? My lord.........smh

I read back on the thread some and saw this crazeddeer dude was complaining early on when they were down 28-0 that Newton wasn't good, they had only gotten lucky. Lol.. My apologies for defending him. I mean there are some frustrating games to watch because of the refs, but this does now look like a sore loser grasping at anything. Good win Eagles, and congrats to Crockett on not giving up. 

No disrespect to you guys at Coldspring but no, you do not match up with Woodville. I'm afraid you're in for a rude awakening. Woodville is playing at a different level this yr. I'll be very very shocked if yall can keep it within 3 scores. Jmo...good luck though proving me wrong.
