Update: I just heard HJ is playing in a tournament at Silsbee next weekend.  HJ's first game is 4 PM Thursday at the HS.  Don't know who we're playing or any other details...  Will post any more info I get.

Silsbee tournament does start Thusday 24 teams with pool play thursday and friday and brackets on saturday. most of the 4a district coming,,multiple 2a and 3a,west lake(la) and west brook are 5a teams, jasper, Pa heat and of course HJ and Silsbee could get seek preveiw of the season

How many starters did Silsbee lose? What about the big kid and the point guard?

returns 4 that started during the year Robinson Walters Stallworth and Thomas plus Hill Byars and Bolton which had significant playing time and Lane soph who played well this summer. Robinson and Walters have played in 1 game each in the Kountze league. They all played together in Mcneese Touney last weekend and went 3-1 in the big school divison

you forgot stallworth..Silsbee with those four plus byars, hill, bolton, jackson will be very good team regardless of what johnson does

Silsbee lost 5 seniors. 2 were starter but as the it came to playoff 3 senior starting. Silsbee lose their second leading scorer. They were all big impact on thier teams on thier own terms. Most of them got to play alot due to it being there last season and all. But they still got alot coming back next year

silsbee  had depth and played 8 to 10 players made contributions every game however throughout the playoff at crunch time when the game was on the line they were playing robinson(jr), walters(jr), stallworth(fr), thomas(so). and howard(sr) as far as transfers do not believe an impact players has moved in, they also have byars (jr)hill and bolton (so) who made contributions this year

Silsbee it's your time to shine, don't take anyone lightly, play like you did in Huntsville for the next two games and you will bring it home. I will be pulling for you from home this year, but will listen to it on line hopefully. Go show the rest of the largest state in the US how Hardin County gets it done. And by the way Matt keep shooting those threes that was a big difference in our game, I think he lead the tigers in points in our game with 19, if I'm mistaken. If we had to loose to someone I'm glad it was yall. Great Job Silsbee coaches and players, leave it all out on the court in Austin.

Great season Hawks a lot of people didn't think you would make it this far without Donahoe, but I guess you proved them wrong. Now lets go back to work and build for next year. We will be back stronger than ever next year.

his ID should be "I don't know anything about the game" instead of "i Know the game" I'm not from HJ but a bet you there is HUNDREDs of school high school and college that would jump at the chance to get Sutherland and his staff. I vote not let him post again

ok im going up to sam houston right when we get out of school and plan on watching the silsbee and crockett game and i would LOVE to sit with the silsbee section and help cheer on the tigers.... are people going to have a proablem with that....don't want any trouble or anything....or would it be better if i just sit in the stands and watch?

Travis Williams for coach Robinson was the only returning player out of their top 10 from last year. May have talent but no experience players and still managed to win 25 games and be competive with Hj

So who did HJ and Silsbee beat that they weren't supposed to beat?  I think the reason that Coach Wrinkle is getting recognition for how competitive the bobcats were against those upper tier teams. 

OF went 0-4 (do you want a pat on he back for being competetive?) against HJ and Silsbee!!!!!  Hey lets give Coach of the Year to the coach that went 0-4 against the Co-District Champs!!!!!

I said it once and I will say it again.  I knew Ray when he was an assistant at LCM to Jeff Burke (Ex-Hawk BTW) and he is a great coach and a even better guy.  He did a great job but he lost to the big dogs (yet 2 out of the 4 games were close) and beat up on all of the little puppies.  Congrats on making the playoffs and winning a playoff game against Coldspring but I doubt that there will be any post season awards for the OF coaching staff!!!

Jarvis is a quiet kid who lets his game do the talking, and tonight his game made a clear, certain statement that he is the best guard in 21-3A.  Jarvis and Co. blew the game open when Silsbee made the tactical mistake of trying to play man-to-man D on us.  Jarvis shredded that.  We can all be proud of the effort all our Hawks put on the court tonight.

To Silsbee, don't get down about this one loss.  Your silver lining is that you won't have to play Navasota in your second playoff game.  I am very worried about Navasota.  They are all back from the team that was easily, IMHO, the most athletic team we faced in our playoff run last year.  They will be eager to play us, to say the least.  They have this 6'9" monster in the middle, and even he can run and jump... 

Anyway, what I am saying is that it is possible y'all could go farther in the playoffs than us.  If that is the case we HJ folks will be rooting for you all the way.  Y'all have some really classy, skilled players.  Your fans need to buck up a little, though.  They were pretty anemic tonight.  If our Hawks were down 20, we'd be yelling at them, "OK, you've got 'em right where you want 'em, now get busy!"  We sure as heck would not be filing for the exits.

What a performance by Jarvis! Silsbee actually did well in man they came out in the second half in a soft zone because robinson was in foul trouble and gave jarvis way to many looks and he killed them. Great job HJ ! Silsbee is will re-group and see you guys in the Regional finals,

Nice job Silsbee you did a good job containing their two guards, when they played us they were shooting way beyond 3 point range and making them all game long we kept thinking that it just wouldn't last but it did.
