  1. ok well ill let imma and granny tlk but ill make a prediction and we'll see wut happens..

At HJ - HJ by 10

At Silsbee - its a toss up..

but best of luck to silsbee till then.. lets show this district who the two best teams are.. i think Orangfields a little cocky right now...

They should be they almost upset PNG
  2. yeah, in the past there've been a couple of posters from HJ who were pretty bad, but Silsbee's had their share as well.  It seems to me the only thing that the HJ team has done to disrespect your team over the past few seasons was beat them.  It's hard to hold that against somebody, but i understand that it's tough for you to let it go.

As for you trying to justify making classless posts full of arrogance and insults, why bother?  Quit making excuses for your behavior and take responsibility for it.

I Think you guys are pretty hypocritical when your hecklers(although very entertaining) can't even spell the word class

either on the threads or certainly in the stands. The problem this year is  imma and granny23 although  loud are accurrate...as indicated by deafening silence from everyone but a couple of you and you aren't even defending your team your just dogging imma and granny23

Hey I like Immabeaking and granny23 because they are Tiger fans like me... :)

I have my Silsbee vs. HJ perdiction.....I took the average of both teams PF scores and came out with this.......

    Silsbee-77

    HJ-68

    good job
  3. I find it very amusing that all the bashers from Silsbee are looking for ANY reason to be on HJ.  Silsbee has been in the regional finals the last two years (one of those making it to state).  However, these same Silsbee fans have easily forgotten that those Silsbee teams that were so very good during district and the playoffs were also the exact same Silsbee teams that BARELY beat (a couple of points) MILBURN ACADEMY in the Orangefield tournament early in BOTH of those seasons.  HJ, over the last 3 years, during their first 16 games has gone 15-1, 15-1, and 13-3 this year and I hear quotes like "they are taking lumps" and they have some "growing up to do".  Geez, it is amazing what success does to some people/haters.  HJ has lost 3 games to Nederland, Central, and Kingwood Park.  I would say given the results of this past weekend that the loss to Nederland ain't lookin' so shabby now and HJ was 3 days out of football at that point.  All 3 of those losses are to 4A playoff teams.  If these are the "growing pains" that we must endure then I like the direction this season is going and the prospects of how it will end up.

you guys are right it is ridiculous for anyone to question the mighty hawks they can lose a game and move up in the rankings to #7 in the state polls..imma and granny23 that is out of line you, guys bashing HJ, please be nice to them..they are headed in the right direction..while Silsbee continues to deteriorate

  5. considering the fact that they are 13-0 and defending state champs id consider them a threat but hey other people will just go off the fact they hate HJ and say they are a joke

chill out dude im not haten

The Silsbee and HJ game will be a good one

who cares about the record of the two teams

if you want to look at the two teams record you need to also look at the teams they have played ;D

Yes lets look at the teams that they have played........

HJ-----#1 AAA Chapel Hill, PreSeason Top 10 AA EC (twice), #4 AA Hempstead, LCM, WOS, and another decent team or two in the Huntington tourney.

Silsbee-----Kountze, Ozen, EC (two of which where loses!!!!!  You can hardley compare the records at this point.  Besides Silsbee beat O'Field by one point this week!!!!

Silsbee may give HJ a run this year as they did last year, but I think that the leadership, confidence and once again coaching is on the HJ side!!!!!!

same time last year only ...sound familiar only reversed
  6. Silsbee didn't have their best shooting night but they still dominated that game. Depth, talent, defense, and quickness is what the tigers are really best at. BS just didn't have an answer to Silsbee defense and there were some questionable calls. At one time at the beginning of second half Shannon Robinson took the ball to the hoop and was faking a jump shot and then tried to shoot it #21 of BS was on him and no foul were called at all. DC Stallworth and Pheal Hill likes to take the ball inside but majority of the time they took it inside there  were a BS guy there just fouling them and ref just kept overlooking that call. BS has no class and respect for no one they just need to except there lost and learn from it.

Ditto no reason to go where you went Master T..Big Sandy puts on a class tournament every year and that includes the entire community

Master T, you are very wrong on the class comment. Big Sandy is a class program led by a 1st class coach in Kevin Foster. I met Coach Foster last year when I broadcasted a couple of their games, very nice man and very cooperative with me in my broadcasts. I spoke to Kevin and a few of his players before and after the game last night, trust me, they are class people. Your comments are very uncalled for.

As for the questionable calls, it went both ways. Yes there were a few no-calls that the Tigers didn't get, but Big Sandy didn't get a few themselves. It definetly wasn't one-sided. Typically an officiating crew may make or don't make a few calls just to keep things flowing. It was obvious who the better team was from all standpoints. Even Coach Foster told me before and after the game that he was glad that his team got to play Silsbee, it would only be good for them down the road. He commented that they would not see a better team the rest of the year, even if they made it back to Austin.

The only thing you got right in your comment was that Big Sandy will learn from this loss. The Wildcats do have respect contrary to what you think. You are the one showing no class and respect with these comments. You need to represent our Tigers a little better next time.

  7. I have no idea yet. But I heard it too. he was a beast on the court last year, he would do wonder if he play this year. And you are right about how we have the height players. We had an transfer from Ozen a few weeks ago but I don't think he will be able to play for awhile that I know of because his credit arent good for SHS. Silsbee will be deep in every aspect of the game. They have the height, the speed, the defense, the guard, and most of all each other. Alot of their players will be a big factors on the team. I cannot see silsbee going any shorter than state this year.

there is no player from ozen, if johnson were a beast he would have played last year...silsbee will be competitve again this year

Going to the state semis, reaching the regional final for the 3rd time in the last 4 years, winning more than 26 games a year the last 4 years is what you call competitive?? ::) Give me a break! I believe you are intentionally selling the Tigers short. Must be a personal problem. ::)

was being sarcastic about competitive..just so everyone is clear I think the Tigers are underrated at #6 they have worked hard since they left austin in march and have improved at every position with every player they will be able to play big or small,,, fast or slow,, have great senior leadershp.. could and should be consider a legitimate state champion

  9. #1 1a-3a Kountze

summer never tales the whole story and kountze didn;t have Roman and Devin but for sure Silsbee and Hj

will be ahead of Kountze, Had orangefield came to the Silsbee tournament they might have a better perspective,

Summer means nothing..just a chance to practice.

so your prediction was based on....
  10. It been a minute since I been on this site and I really miss hearing everyone opinions on all teams this year. I been following some of the team this summer for summer league basketball. Like always it anybody game on any given night so you have to bring your A game. There will be a 21-3A team representing State again this year (hopes it Silsbee). Silsbee does bring back there big guy and good group of experienced players. HJ got there duo threat it Jarvis Benard and Trey Burrell. Truly I don't think HJ has a big man but Burrell will step up and take over that leadership in the post area. Jarvis will take over the guard area too. Silsbee will still have that full court press team like they have had for years and it will be better this year too. Now Bluedove3 unless HF really got a new set of players don't really bring them in because I don't even see them running for a playoff spots this year. As a matter of fact all 3 spots are taken by now with Silsbee, HJ, and O-field. Exactly how good will O-field be this upcoming year.

saw the of/silsbee game this summer silsbee had 3 varsity players and 5 freshman all played equal time and the won by 12

I agree with Master T, Bluedove, until HF does something on the court and shows they are a competitive team in this district, then there isnt really a reason to talk about them.  Maybe there will be some day but thats just how it is now.  To answer your question Master T about Orangefield, they will be pretty good again next year.  Their 2 biggest losses were Jeremy Granger and Jared Helton, but much like HJ and Silsbee, they still have a lot coming back.  In fact, this year they have a chance to be better.  They had a strong JV team last year, and some of those guys will step in and fill roles on varsity to give them a deeper bench than last year.  I heard from one of the players that OF played Silsbee once in summer league and played them close till the end but lost.  I also heard in summer league they have beaten Nederland, LCM, Kelly, Vidor, and Legacy (sometimes without all the varsity there too).  I know a group of these kids has been playing in summer league and weekend tournaments, along with open gym.  I know HJ and Silsbee get a lot of hype on this board, but i think Orangefield will give them a run for their money again next year like they did in some games last year.
