Silsbee could not hit anything in the 1st half but picked up the pace in the 2nd.

Did not like the way the Tigers looked tonight but the 2 things I did like was.....

1. The "W"

2. The alley hoop slam dunk that Robinson threw to DC Stallworth

Tigers shot 5 for 35 1st half actually played good defensely..2nd half turned defense up a notch and hit some shots..Byars had 4 3'sin the 3rd out scored WOS  30 to 12 in ....the alley was to Thomas...

Why does it make a difference when evaluating a defensive player?  Silsbee plays some zone, I've seen Orangefield do it quite a bit this year.  I know HF, Bridge City, and WOS all play lots of zone too.  You can't be a DPOY if your team plays zone?  Because a team plays man to man and one plays zone then the player whose team plays man should have the edge in defensive awards??  Seriously??  You can either defend or you can't.....it doesn't matter what style of defense you play in.

Don't you think that teams play zone because they don't have enough players that can play man and a zone puts players in a position to help. Not saying Turner can't defend and it certainly allows him to take more chances but I was saying that there is a difference between on ball defender and someone pressuring the ball in a zone. you are also right everyone plays a zone so you can't use that as criteria

up until this season i wouldve gone with shannon robbinson.... but... since he played football this year he has changed... the thing i liked the most about shannon is that he always got the open guy and the right guy the ball... it used to be about him getting his team in the position to win now its turned into "im gunna get m points"... im not saying JB the best because i really think shannon is but with the play ive seen from him id pick JB right now.... he's gotta get it out of his head that he's the only one that can get this team to win... until he does its just gunna be the shannon robbinson show and silsbee will lose

HJ plays a zone..so I'm not sure which time he shut him down..Shannon knows how to play point guard.. never has tried to win an HJ game by himself

Saw West Orange play last night ...very athletic and high intensity...can see why they're 16-5 doesn't matter who they have or have not played.....they will be ready when they come to silsbee Friday when all the talk has to be backed up and it counts

Both HJ and Silsbee have played what they needed to play. Saw HJ play Newton they looked as good as anyone we have played with exception of College Park .HJ's organized chaos looked to be right on track and extremely effectice as Newton had  a ton of turnovers  Silsbee was more than competitve with WCP except for about a quarter when they could not answer College park. So at this point all that doesn't matter it only matters did your team get what they needed to get ready for the real season where games actually count! that starts Friday 16 Jan.The good news is that HJ and Silsbee will get to answer this question on the court..Can't wait!

Congrats to Legacy but I am sorry, I did not see this coming.

What in the world is going on with Orangefield? They are a better team than this. I have seen Legacy play a few games this season and Orangefield should not lose to these guys.

Saw a few Silsbee players and parents in the stands last night.  First quarter and 4th quarter were very similar.  Total domination by the Hawks.  Second and 3rd it seems as if the Hawks just kinda relaxed and took it easy.  We do not want to show too much to you Tiger fans when you come to scout us!!!! ;D ;D :D ;)

The top 3 point shooting team in NCAA this year is California at 50.3% thru 14 games the second best team is at 42.9 and the number 10 team is at 40. So to your point NOS ....60% 3 point shooting teams do not exist..  probably will not be anyone who shoot 60% in warm up for the year..(stats from web college stats at si.com)

I believe it is because of the level of how many coaches recruits players now days. You could take a small school coach and he'll go and search for athletes. As he recruits many athletes he can competes at the level of higher classifications. A 2A school has some new players this year and dominated all the small school teams in the area and they can hold their own with some 4A and 5A schools. They have more athletes than they started out with from last season. And that what makes them a whole lot better because of recruitment and it keep the smaller schools competing with bigger schools.
