  6. I will keep my choice at the high school level... Feb. 10th LCM @ Nederland!! This past season both games ended in a shoot out with both teams getting and extra point... and this is the first district game...
  7. Im confused with the ... choice i think the better choice would have been ---
  8. Well, this is not the case at WOS my sister is the boys coach and she knows alot about the game, having played semi pro in Dallas, and having played soccer almost her entire life, real soccer we as kids played in Brazil, Aruba etc.. it is having no support system from the school on up. She herself is trying to figure out a way to finance her team going to the British soccer camp that we have here at GCYSC every summer and getting the club pro to work with her team, so you obviously dont know who or what you are talking about ??? :
  9. Congrats to Coach Bledsoe and his Bulldogs on a great season!
  10. Coach L just called me and they did beat Pinetree 1-0. Congrats Raiders
  11. Congratulations Coach to you and your young men
  12. The game has been moved to tonight. Time: 6:00 Location: LCM High School
  13. Congratulations to Lumberton and Nederland on clinching playoff spots...
  14. Congrats to LCM Baseball, especially Coach Griffith and Coach Stevenson
  15. To Coach Cooper and the Ozen Soccer Team: I am responding to the above comment publicly, because one of my JV players foolishly spoke out about something he has no personal knowledge of. Last year, he was an 8th grader and not part of Bear Soccer aside from being an occasional spectator. Furthermore, he was not at the game this past Friday night. The games played last year were hard fought games, resulting in well deserved wins by you and your team. I apologize for his rudeness. To be associated with Bear Soccer, players are expected to conduct themselves with class and dignity. This player knows what is expected of him, unfortunately, he chose to act otherwise and speak completely out of turn. Coach Wedel
  16. The game between Lumberton and LCM has been moved to tonight. Both coaches are trying to beat the possible storms on Tuesday. The JV will begin at 5:00 and the Varsity will start at 7:00. The games will be played at LCM High school.
  17. i agree i was going to try to write something funny about Bon's coments regarding the "no" choice but...nothing, I came up with nothing... I see on the inside of the jersey Nike is still using the whole "DONT TREAD ON ME" saying...one more reason why me and my boys wear the 3 Stripes!!!
  18. Bon is right regarding shot count. I don't have my official count with me but I don't think we led in the shot category (I will watch film this weekend and total them up). My hat goes off to Coach Bledsoe and his boys. It was a great game, definitely worth freezing your toes off for. I'm not sure my boys completely understand yet that on paper this game is going to go down as a tie with us getting 2 points for a shoot out win and Nederland getting 1 for the loss. I am positive they understand that they played one tough opponent tonight and they respect Nederland now just as much as they did before the game started. Coach Bledsoe if that was round one, round two is going to be a barn burner!!! I would also like to add this comment. Both sets of parents were on my side of the field tonight, and lets face it the jr. high stands are lacking in the size department, and from what I could hear both LCM and Nederlands fans cheered with class. That does not always happen in the world of high school sports, kudos to all fans at the game.
  19. Here is one coaches point of view...It is a district game. The whole point of playing district games is to see who the best teams are and for those teams to get ready for the playoffs. As a coach I am much more concerned about my teams chemistry, playing style and mental state than the other team. In fact that is the other coaches job. I am absolutely in favor of promoting the game and I do think it is bad form to run the score up. But, I have played and coached at mutliple levels and have given and TAKEN my share of lopsided victories. When my team lost, we took it as a loss. We congratulated the other team and did our best to learn from them and from our mistakes. I do not agree that a 7-0 loss is better or worse than a 10-0 loss. Infact when I played (long time ago) select ball we faced a team that scored 7+ goals on us and then they played keep away for 20 minutes. We looked stupid running around not even touching the ball so we just quit. As a player on the loosing team I would have rather stacked our defense in the back and have them keep attacking than them just playing keep away. And guess what??? I survived and love the game now more than ever. And that was just one of many, many, many defeats I have been involved in. I would rather lose to a great team 10-0 who wins with class, plays hard, and wants you to play hard back rather than a team who wins 5-0 and patronizes you the whole game by playing less than their best. What about teams with back to back games that are against weaker opponents? Should a coach keep his starters out and expect his team to be firing on all eight cylinders when they play a much tougher opponent?
  20. LCM 1-2-1 L vs. Azle 2-2 (shoot out 3-2) W vs. Lovejoy 4-0 L vs Gainesville 3-0 T vs Vidor 0-0
