One opponent stands between the West Orange-Stark Mustangs and a return trip to the Texas 4A, Division II State Championship Game and they take on that opponent, the Geronimo Navarro Panthers, tonight in this Class 4A, Division II State Semifinal from Houston. Cornel Thompson's Mustangs, 14-0 on the season, began their 2016 playoff run with a bi-district game over Tarkington, 73-0. They followed that with a 47-14 area round victory over Robinson and a 49-7 regional semifinal win over Bellville 49-7. And then the Mustangs punched their ticket to this game with a 48-5 Region III Finals win over Giddings, 48-5. Meanwhile, the Panthers, also 14-0 on the season, started their playoff trip with a 70-14 bi-district win over Poteet. They followed that with a 42-0 win over Sweeny and a 55-34 regional semifinal win over Wharton. Finally, they defeated Cuero 35-21 for Region IV Championship. The winner of this game will face the winner of the Sweetwater/Gilmer game which will be played at 7:00 pm at Baylor's McLane Stadium in Waco.
