Was Punishment to Hard on Devin Mccain
WOSgrad replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
It did happen to have one article about a fight at a basketball game. A couple of things to note in that article. First, that the incident happened so long ago that both Jasper and Kirbyville were still in the same district as WO-S, Second, the team which the Mustangs had the altercation with is one that is quite familiar in this thread. -

Okay, I did. In fact, here are the results: [Hidden Content] -
Yes. All of the entrances will be off of Newton St., the street which WO-S is located on. How far you have to go will depend on where you enter Newton St. If you enter Newton from Burnett St. (right by Dan Hooks Stadium), it will be the last WO-S parking lot on your left. If you enter Newton from Western Ave (Hwy 105 which means you will go by the old Oates Elementary School) it will be the first parking lot on the right just after you pass the tennis courts.

No, what is ridiculous was that the notion that this game should be moved out of West Orange given that West Orange-Stark had nothing to do with Tuesday's incident. And I serious doubt such a notion was forwarded by Coach Hancock, Coach Thompson or any WO-S or WO-C CISD official (although it was obviously forwarded by someone in the district as it was voted on by the 22-4A DEC).

Then for tonight's game, it appears that Silsbee fans will use the parking lot on the opposite side of the high school from where you usually park. The tennis courts that you are to park next to are right off of the street so you should be able to see them.

Another rally? Or another protest?

That would be a foolish move by the remainder of the Tigers on so many different levels. Most notably, they expose themselves to potential punishment by Silsbee ISD. This is already an unfortunate situation, but if the players carry through on the threat of not playing tomorrow, it could be disastrous. -
Neither, since the beginning of the year the two admins of this site (me and AAW) have been playing a game of "Can you top this?" to see who can develop worse flu like symptoms. Current score, we are neck and neck.

Not only your two cents, but I think also the state of the law. The UIL does not have jurisdiction to intervene in a individual ISD's decision based upon its Code of Conduct. -
Let's make sure that we are posting fact, not rumor, here.

I think we are gonna put this to bed. -
I did the same, But it is when I realized that the live broadcast of the game nor the weekend was much better. Particularly, I had a real problem with the color guy for the game (Colt McCoy's dad) and the constant mistakes he made not only as to WO-S players, but Sweetwter as well. For the game, Jack Dallas, maybe all of 5'10" (and that is generous) miraculously grew to NFL tight end size, prompting McCoy to call him "Dallas Clark" through the entirety of the game. When, we wanted to give credit to the WO-S line, I didn't hear names like "Ryan Ragsdale", "Paul Ivory" and the like. No, he went on to call out the name of the Sweetwater linemen. But perhaps his biggest guffaw, which he ultimately had to acknowledge after what appeared to be a torrent of texts to his phone, was incorrectly stating the name of the Sweetwater coach who lead them to the SC in 1985. Of course, the bigger travesty of the weekend was the Highland Park/Temple SC game. Look, I love Jerry Jones. He is the owner of my favorite NFL team. However, that does not mean that I want to see a shot of him in the stands every 5 seconds. Heck, he doesn't get that much air time when his team plays. It is a good thing that John Steven Jones played quarterback for the Scots or he might have risked being the first player in high school football championship history to get less air time than his grandfather. In this game as well as the resulting medal ceremony, the UIL and Fox Sports Southwest made donkeys of themselves. And then finally to my ALLTIME, FAVORITE Fox Sports Southwest personality, Ric "If It Ain't in DFDub, I Really Don't Care About It" Renner. Mr. Renner, who for some god foresaken reason, has been deemed appropriate to anchor the pregame, halftime and postgames of these games, did his dead level best to let the viewing public (presumably from all parts of the state) how many SC's the "DFDub" has accumulated. Yeah, I know Ric, it is 3, you said it enough to where anyone who devoted any portion of time to the weekend knows that. I may just seem like a guy from Southeast Texas bitching and moaning, but to me it appears that the UIL and Fox Sports Southwest have morphed the UIL State Football Championships into the "DFW Invitational" where only a select few from outside the area are graced with the opportunity to participate. It is truly disappointing and the even more disappointing part is that it will not get better, but indeed worse.
