Yes, with or without the AD title...

Its worded..... Director of Athletics/ Head Coach.... not Head Football Coach....leaving the option open to hire head basketball or baseball coach as AD?

Still not sure what is going to happen but, it seems that the hire will be from the inside. Wheels of motion are turning too slow for an outside hire.When this first broke I was convinced it would be an outsider, but all indications now seem to point to a promotion from within. Im of the opinion that the AD needs to be the Head Football Coach, any other way could spell disaster for the program. JMO.

If Barrow is hired, the slow process means little cause all wheels are still in motion. If a Coach is hired from the outside, the sooner the better.

Its no secret that certain members of the school board wanted Neumann out. Those same members are also the very ones wanting to make the bball coach the next AD. Im not saying that he was run out cause I dont know that but, it sure is strange the way it all went down. If the AD position is given to anyone other than the next Head Football Coach it could spell disaster for the football program. As for myself, I will voice my concerns to our board members when the opportunity presents itself. And remember, they are all elected by us.

Best case scenario imo...Barrows named HC/AD and things roll on. Or you hire a HC/AD from the outside. Lets say you give the AD position to another coach already there, and the HC to Barrow..... What happens if Barrow leaves and you need to hire another HC with an AD already in place? Gonna be a tough sell to get a proven HC without the AD stipend. The salary wont be right, and no proven or seasoned Head Football Coach would accept these terms, you would have to find a diamond in the rough. Giving the AD spot to anyone other than the HC could come back to haunt you.But hey, Im a football guy.JMO.

If they give it to someone from within, my vote is for Barrow.....I would love to see him get the opportunity. But the AD position is Administrative,and requires a masters.

Yes.....Bmt has three Head coaches and a seperate AD....

Ned will probably require a masters degree.....Imo , this will allow one person to fill both jobs, AD-HC and get the money right...Would love to see Monte get it but cant see Ned hiring two rather then one....
