  1. Wow. Didn't know McMahon was out. That kind of explains it more. So he'll miss the Big Sandy and H-J tournaments but return in time for the Tenaha tournament.
  2. Both teams will be fine and I expect Woodville to use this "moral loss" as a springboard to a great season. As I said earlier, this was Arnold's first game with his only practice being Monday afternoon. Two games into the season and TJ (#2) went from being the "go-to" guy to the #2 scoring threat behind Arnold. It was expected even before the season started that Kountze would need time to gel with the loss of two starters from last year. They'll be geared up like a well oiled machine come district time.
  3. Arnold went for 34 tonight.
  4. First game after the Arnold fiasco and I also believe he had his 1st practice yesterday.
  5. Joubert probably teaching him a lesson. Stanford is usually the most energetic for Kountze and doesn't get in trouble with the refs..
  6. Shelbyville is still in the football playoffs so I'm guessing that game was cancelled.
  7. Kountze and Woodville are playing tomorrow night in Kountze at 7:30. Woodville was originally scheduled to play Shelbyville but Shelbyville is still in the playoffs.
  8. All signs are pointing to Arnold suiting up and playing tomorrow night against Woodville. We'll see. The game is at 7:30 in Kountze.
  9. I agree. We'll know tomorrow if he plays again..
  10. Hearing that Arnold will return to the Kountze b-ball team on Monday.
  11. I don't believe this game is happening today.
  12. Couldn't help but laugh at this when I saw it.. You gotta love the heart of #2 TJ Stanford!! im sorry af ‏@teran_stanford Imma ball with you or without you dawg
  13. It's going to hurt early on but you'll now get to the see the younger players step up. I'm talking moreso about McMahon and Edwards who are both Sophomores. I don't think any others players stop playing as Arnold is making this decision to focus on prepping for College. You really can't blame him and I'm glad he made the decision now instead of later. I'm fine as long as they're ready for the playoffs, which is what counts the most. With the exception of Palestine Westwood and East Chambers I did not see any other contenders in Region 3 this year for Kountze. Or course there are some sleeper teams out there.
  14. Yep. Grayland Arnold has walked away from Kountze basketball and will instead focus on preparing for football. If your heart's not in it then you have to do what's best. Better to do it now than mid-season. The Grayland Arnold era will end a year earlier than expected.
  15. Kountze will face West Brook at the Fred Williams Classic next Friday. They're also scheduled to play on 11/24 but I'm still looking for the opponent.
  16. Due to yet another scheduling conflict the 3A Region III Regional Tournament will be held in another city. This year it's scheduled to be held at Waco Midway HS. It was held at SFA in 2012 - 2014 and last year at Angelina JC. Thoughts?
  17. Pool Play teams below: Pool A: Hardin-Jefferson, Dallas Bryan Adams, Anahuac, Longview Pool C: Aransas Pass, Kountze, Brock, LC-M Pool B: Fairfield, Lufkin Hudson, Huffman, Chapel Hill Pool D: Big Sandy, Nederland, Tatum, Shepherd Each team will play 3 pool games. Based on your pool record, you will be placed into an 8-team bracket. The teams that finish first or second in their respective pools will be placed into the “Gold Bracket”. The teams that finish third or fourth in their respective pools will be placed into the “Silver Bracket”. The brackets will then be played out to determine a champion. If there is a TIE in pool play then it will be broken by total point differential (with a cap of 20 points). Bracket Play: Gold and Silver Bracket A1 vs. B2, C1 vs. D2, D1 vs. C2, A2 vs. B1 - First round of Gold Bracket Play - By this alone you will be eliminating arguably two of your top teams on the first day of bracket play since it appears on the surface that Pool's C and D are your strongest pools.
  18. Kinda hard to do that when your best freshmen and sophomores are on the Varsity squad.
  19. No. McMahon didn't play last year and Edwards was the first off the bench. He contributed a lot during district as a freshman. Both kids have huge upside.
  20. Not just any random Seniors either. They lost roughly 95% of their production from last year.
  21. I'm calling the breakout year for Tiger. Dre McMahon will also turn some heads this year.
