There were several local players who were very instrumental in their team's success that went unmentioned.  If you were a fan in the stands that witnessed it all, you know and I'm sure that player knows too.  These type awards aren't always based on talent, just who are supposedly the "franchise player"...don't act like you don't know.
Who are you referring to? What school?

 7.
Madison has some good kids coming back too!
Who? The only one I saw that's returning that played significant minutes was the Sophomore#3. Everyone else was Seniors. Yates returns virtually everyone with the exception of #23 Martin.
 8.
Yates couldve stayed in 4A and they wouldve gotten the same outcome. I guess the experiment failed.  :)
It wasn't their choice to drop down to 3A. They wanted to stay 4A.
 9.
2nd year in a row yates press has killed them...but whats up with swift he doesn't play like a D-1 player
I've yet to see Swift attempt a jump shot. All I ever see him doing is getting putbacks and layups/dunks off their press.
 10.
Yates just fell victim to another big city team who had just as many or more players than they did.  A taste of what all us small town teams get.
Actually Yates has 2x the enrollment of Madison. Madison was the smallest 3A school competing at the Tournament.
 11. Madison's coach pointed out something big about Yates' press. They give up easy buckets on the back-end which is what Madison exploited today. Get the ball past halfcourt and you give yourselft a chance against Yates.
 12. Can't believe they won against the big bad boys in the 1A classification.
 13.
Hey anyone know if you can catch the state tournament on a network other than time warner? I have sudden link(east texas)
You can watch them online. Go to the UIL website.
 14.

I have been told that AAA Academy will be reclassified as 3A in the next realignment.
Nope, they would go as the smallest classification that is in Dallas.  They would be  either 4A or 5A, according to the new rule the UIL has put out
The smallest classification in Dallas is 3A (Madison, Roosevelt)
 15. 18-10 White Oak end of 1st. EC needs to settle down on offense.

This team is the real deal. Even without their leading scorer. Even without McClure I see them beating Mumford fairly easy Saturday.
Heard King hurt his knee but will be back to play ball in month or so. AAA seems to be too strong for 1-A. A charter school with one definite high D-1 guard and possibly 2 more playing high-mid D-1 against 1-A kids.
Exactly how does this school qualify to be in Class 1-A?? No way a 1A school has that much talent in one year.
This might answer your question. Triple A Academy is a high school division/campus of FOCUS Academies that provides academic and athletic development for the student that desires to participate in collegiate sports; junior college, NAIA or NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. Academics, Attitude and Athletics are the FOCUS of the curriculum provided to each student. Academically, the curriculum offered is based upon the continuum of developing skills provided at FOCUS Learning Academy. That is off their school website. [Hidden Content]
Their players have been together since middle school and use to  play on the same summer team, AAA Academy.
Used to? Don't they still play on the same Summer AAU team. I read where they're using the same uniforms. Boys and Girls.
 17. King is the real deal for Mumford! 6'5" lefty guard shooting pull-up 3's.
 18.
Is Jim Larranaga going to let him on the hardwood after football season ends? That kid is ATHLETIC!!!!
Yes, which is the reason he signed with Tha U

C'mon DV, put your money where that big mouth is. ;) ;D
Maybe in your old age, you have forgotten that Yates returns Swift AND JC Washington next year along with the PG JoJo Anderson....It will be much of the same next year in region 3-3A... 8)
You do realize that 21-3A runner up would not see Swift, Washington, Anderson and the rest of Yates team till Regional finals. That means the runner up would make regional tourney. That is what we are discussing, Hardin County team making regionals. Should you even be coaching with that ineptness? ;)
Which would explain his success, or lack thereof.
Who? Kountze? They might...I mean they ARE in 2A.... ::) ::)...Should make it EVERY year... 8) ( I am really stirring that pot today, aren't I?) ;D
Why is that? We have the same classification size as all other 2A's so what gives us an advantage? I'll wait to hear your response.
Actually I was speaking as you Kountze fans speak...You guys feel that you should be in it EVERY year..and for good reason...And honestly you guys dropping to 2A from 3A is similar to Yates dropping to 3A from 4A...It SHOULD have be a cake walk as it is for Yates.... ::) 8)
That's the most asinine statement you've posted. You can't answer the question as to what gives us an advantage on the 2A level. We don't have millions of kids to pull from for our basketball PROGRAM. When we competed at the 3A level we were actually one of the smallest 3A's competing and we won, yearly, with those numbers.

My team was beat last Friday and you haven't seen me complain one bit. I just mentioned something about you talking about Jefferson County when the thread wasn't made about Jefferson County. My team will be back, NEXT YEAR and you can count on it. Trust me, I don't know you one bit. Outside of your screen name you're probably a standup guy in person but honestly you come off as a messy character on this forum. That's what I have a problem with!  ;)
ME? A pot stirrer? I am shocked and appalled.... ::) ::) ;)
Maybe a pot stirrer behind the name "Dick Vitale" but as soft as a box of kleenex in person.
