Dang, I hate hearing this type of news...prayers to his family, friends, and teammates as well as the entire community of Vidor

Two programs that have been great seem to be struggling this year (WOS and Dayton)...despite how good their replacements may be and despite the fact that they both came from within the system, there is still a transition and it is showing for both of these programs this year...just validates how difficult it is to replace a legendary coach...I don't think you can lose leaders like that and just assume business as usual...it's possible, just harder than people make it seem.

Vidor and it won't be close...Central is in real trouble this year

Dogs will be ready either way...they have been pretty tough on QB's this season...the last two we faced have taken a beating

Also try the Houston Chronicle...you have to make some menu selections, but it has everyone's numbers...Chipman and Lacour are the #4 and 5 receivers in the district, respectively and deserve mention, although this is good work by two cents, especially if he is doing this on his own

Using the same logic, how do you figure Central will score 28 on Nederland when no one else has? my prediction sticks at 28-14, Nederland.

Running right at Nederland will not yield consistent results, but feel free to try

soulja, I am just telling you, not the same type of Nederland team at all...gone is the spread, which while it had quick strike ability, also yielded alot of 3 and outs that put the defense on the field for long stretches...also this defense has not been guilty of giving up long, time consuming drives...I believe that teams who plan to make a living running right at Nederland are setting themselves up for failure...Central could prove me wrong, but no one has been successful running on Nederland all year...furthermore, this could be the first time all season that the defense will be at full strength...big game for both and I certainly won't underestimate Central's athletes because I am sure they are good, but I do think they will have to do something besides cram the ball down Big Ned's throat...the QB will have to make some plays on his own

Not much to read into it...I know for sure that Nederland was Central's homecoming a few years back...I think most schools just schedule homecoming when it fits the schools schedule and whoever happens to fall on that date, that's who it is.

I agree jake...Central may have similar circumstances, but this Nederland team and the '08 team are really not very similar at all...this team's strength is good old fashioned, punch you in the mouth defense...kind of reminds me of the way LSU is playing this year, defense and field position with an offense good enough to compliment that strategy...as mentioned before, I am really looking forward to possibly having the entire defense together for the first time this season

Big game for both teams...Central needs a win to stay alive in the playoof hunt and Nederland needs to keep winning to keep hopes of a district championship going...good to hear that Central has committed more to the run, but unfortunately for them, this plays directly into the strength of Nederland's front 7, which has been outstanding and may actually have a chance to be at full strength for the first time all season (injury reports pending)...Nederland playing the game in a way that I really like...defense and field position with the offense making enough plays to get the job done...just don't see many teams making a consistent living trying to cram the ball down Nederland's throat, especially with a long field...Nederland 24, Central 14

Eyes on the prize, Dogs...bring it every week and play one at a time
