1. Bulldog Stadium, bia.
2. VERY surprised not to see WOS in the 3A poll...those guys are gonna be good this year
3. entirely way to early to talk about this...wow
4. Double thumbs up, there, phunter...Amen
5. Griff, you make another key point in that there is no game planning for these scrimmages as well
6.

I assure you that if it were a real game, it would be played differently than it will this Friday...scrimmages are used by coaches to evaluate players and look at different situations...score can kept or not, but to me it has little relevance since the entire playbook is not used and many substitution patterns are used that will not be in regular season games.
ou guys tell the coaches it doesnt count or it has little relevance and see what kind of reaction you get, if it had little relevance then the coaches wouldnt do it.. Its a big deal and the best way to test were your team is.. if it wasnt important the coaches wouldnt coach the kids it would be like 7on7.. Come on guys.. Also for the 2nd string comment WO-S has only if i counted correctly 25 kids who will have silver helmets, So really and truly WO-S doesnt have a second string and they havent had a true second string in years if you look at all of their games since last year the starters stay in the entire game..
You are reminding me of politicians with this comment....assuming I meant something that I never said...I never said the scrimmage wasn't relevant, I said the score had minimal relevance...scrimmages have value in several ways, with the final score being down the list...

8. Genius, nobody "wins" a scrimmage...it is a glorified practice against someone other than yourself...I there was a winner, then it would be on the regular game schedule
9. Should be interesting John, although I don't put a whole lot of stock in scrimmages...if nothing else, Nederland is big and physical for certain...this has to be the biggest Nederland team I have seen in years, escpecially on the defensive side of the ball
10.

Bay City was 2000, I believe but that was the regional finals and probably Nederland's most talented team in recent history...Bay City went on to run the table without much challenge the next 2 games...the 2001 season was the year Nederland went to the semis and lost to Smithson Valley...that was a heck of an accomplishment because Nederland lost so much talent from the previous year and was expected to do so little yet parlayed that season into one heck of a run
after Lincoln embarassed them i thought NED was a done dish in 2001
we did, too BG...Nederland had a very mediocre regular season at 7-3...we lost our district opener to Vidor when our QB went down and if I recall, took a beating from Lincoln...the team got healthy at the right time and got hot in the playoffs and went on the win Region 3...fun season

12. Shoot, I will...lol (but with a serious response) That would be a real accomplishment badsanta as the schedule is brutal...no cupcakes pre-district (or even scrimmages for that matter) and the district will once again be tough this season...Nederland has the potential to be very good this season, but potential doesn't win you any games...I have said it before, you need to be good AND you need to have the breaks go your way to have a great season...the pieces are in place, the kids just need to stay focused on the task at hand and hopefully avoid the dreaded injury bug
13. If we didn't "entertain" stupid comments, this board would be dead...
14. Neither Ozen or Vidor were "weak" last year as evidenced by the fact that both made round 3 of the playoffs, but as for your assertion that Nederland is overrated, I would have to disagree...Nederland, too went 3 rounds deep, beat both Vidor and Ozen and has as much or more returning...now that guarantees absolutley nothing for this season, but it is the best information we all have to go on until the season starts. Keep in mind that Vidor and Ozen's success last season doesn't guarantee either of them anything for this season...you have to play the games, boys
15. gotta disagree there, jackthehammer...I think Vidor is as good a bet as anyone to be a playoff team in 2012...I see Nederland, Vidor, and Ozen as playoff teams with the other spot being a toss up between PNG, Central, and maybe Livingston
16.
I think Crosby's new fast paced, high octane offense will put up at least 28 the first half.  This forces Ned out of their offensive style and makes them throw the ball more than they are comfortable with and after a few 3 and outs or turnovers, Crosby really starts to run it up. Crosby 49, Nederland 28
I will take the under on Crosby's 49...WAY under
17.
What a lot of people failed to realize is that the district champions were good in that they played the field possition game better than I've seen in recent years.  The kicking game was part of that.  Good kickoffs and good punts leads to bad starting field position for oponents.  If Nederland's kicker is any good, that will make this year's edition even that much better.
Soulja, that's a real good observation...I made that point last season...Nederland will be very strong defensively this season, as they were last...when you have that going for you, it is smart to play the field position game and make teams drive long distances on you to score...LSU was really good at that last year as well...I look for more of the same from the Dogs this season
18. I believe they hit the field around 7am.
19. Believe it or not smoking baby, nederland couldn't give a rat's you know what about BH...we are busy preparing for a playoff run while BH is usually sitting at home after round 1
20. We already established that the originator of this thread was over zealous...no one should claim to be state bound at this point.
21. I will accept it if he can back it up with some facts...still waiting ???
22. Again, definitely taking the under on your prediction of Vidor hanging 28...Dawson didn't hang 28 on Nederland last year and they are far more potent offensively than vidor
23.
Did you mean "bound" for the state school or State penitentiary? Ain't nuthin' but thugs and riff raff coming out of Nederville.
...and this is based on what exactly?
24. Offense will be the same as last year...base power I with spread and pro sets mixed in...best description of the offense would be multiple set
25. A guy named Micah Mosley from Nederland was pretty good
