Soulja, I respect you and always have but I believe some may be placing too much value on attendance at an internet broadcast...people have lives, work and activities, many of which already center around MCM to be called out for not making it last night...I realize that may be disappointing for the guys who put the show on ( and it's a great thing ya'll do), but in the words of Keyshawn...CMON MAN!
Razor, you and I have been around message boards long before there was an SETXsports.com and I have had the biggest respect for your insight and believe me this thread changes none of that. However, this "internet broadcast" was a little more significant than I think you are giving it credit for. First, this is not just a show where someone flips a switch and 3-6 guys just start rambling for 2 hours. A good bit of work goes into it. I know, because even though my attendance is sparce due to distance, I am one of those who put a bit of work into the show. Second, those that do host the show...Mike, Aaron and Robert...all take time out of their schedules to make this show go to help bring a little more information and a little more entertainment to the posters at SETXsports. Robert tears himself away from his daughter's activities to be there, Aaron's two hours there account for about half of the time off he has all week and Mike puts several civic functions that he is involved with for a better half of a day. Apparently that is recognized by some as you look at the Legacy Sports Network lineup and while they have game broadcasts from all over the state, they have seen fit at this time to have only one preview show be part of their lineup, ours. And to move the show to Nederland for the week of Mid-County Madness creates further sacrifice for the guys, both in time and these days more importantly distance. But it is a lot more than that. It was SETXsports.com paying homage to what is the most storied rivalry in Southeast Texas and doing so for the second year in a row. It is SETXsports.com showing appreciation to Hamburger Depot, a company who I can't just say has been very helpful to this site since it's inception because that we be an understatement of such proportion to be laughable. It was an attempt to further help our sponsor by getting folks to come in and patronize a business who had enough faith in that community to put down stakes there. Yet, despite the show setting up in their backyard for the second year in a row for the week precending MCM all of this was met with by both the Nederland and Port Neches-Groves contingient as, "Well, we had better things to do." Given that sentiment, for you not to understand that the staff and regulars not to look at Mid County Madness with the same grandeur as they may have viewed the rivalry in the past, then I would have to pose to you "C'MON MAN." Now, I know what I said doesn't change a whole lot. MCM was the most storied rivalry in the before the show yesterday, it was during the show and is today. But after what our efforts have been met with over the last couple of years, I think you should be able to understand why we may not look upon it with the same excitement that you do.
no argument here, grad...believe me, I know these guys work hard and sacrifice to make this thing work and I acknowledged as much in my prior post, although maybe not enough...what they do is certainly admirable work and I know they would have preferred to have more Nederland/PNG attendees...fact is, they didn't and while I understand the disappointment, I really didn't see a reason to be quite as critical of the fans for not showing...heck, I didn't even know it was that big of a deal, not that I could have gone anyway...but again, I do think that what they are doing is good stuff...I will listen when I can and find it entertaining...my thought would be for these guys to press on and keep doing what you are doing

look, I am a Nederland fan and I am not crazy enough to think that it isn't possible...it is MCM and these are teenage biys we are talking about, but if both teams play their best, the Dogs come out on top...one thing that you can bank on is that neither team will be flat for this one

no doubt!
It's all good...rob can talk all the ridiculous anti-Nederland spew he wants, but if he dishes it out, it may very well come back at him...who said we weren't having any fun??? Besides, his smack is kinda crazy...he spends a year talking about how vidor is going to spank Nederland (despite a 10-55 all time record) followed by talk after the loss of how the refs stunk and screwed vidor out of the game or some other lame excuse...it is entertaining although all too predictable...either way, he gives us someone that's easy to give a hard time thus keeping us all amused to some degree...I guess we really should thank him

if you don't like the thread, don't read it...I would think by the title of it, it would be pretty clear what the discussion is about...just do what is simple and don't read it or are the Republicans making you read it...lol

proud for Korbin...I have watched this kid and many of the others on this team grow up...it really is quite a group...Korbin was lights out last week and has really been playing great the entire season...I look for more of the same this week from him. Again, congrats Stamp! Keep up the great work! -
Keep heads straight PNG and you may take Ned. I still think they are overrated :o, lost to Angleton who lost to a first year school last week :'(. Close game with Crosby and they suck. :o ;D
think what you want about the Bulldogs, John...we really could care less, but the Crosby game was not close...they were never in it and were totally dominated...Nederland scored on their first 3 drives and then took the air out of the ball and let the defense do the rest...watch the game or at least read some stats before making a comment like that

MCM is never in the bag...BTW, you have just as many PNG posters who think the same thing...this board has never been so quiet with regards to MCM. Nevertheless, emotions will be high, the crowd will be big and anything can happen in this rivalry...PNG has had a disappointing season that could be made up for with a win Friday night...if the Indians end up 3-7 and one of the 3 is against Nederland, the season will not be a total loss in their minds...on paper, Nederland should win this game, but the game isn't played on paper...fortunately for us, Neumann and his players know this, so I don't look for PNG to sneak up on Nederland...I also don't expect PNG to lay down for the Dogs either...as always, I am looking forward to MCM -

Y'all are about on the same level...talk at ya next year...I will eagerly anticipate your prediction of Vidor beating Nederland again...followed by your complaints of how the refs screwed you again...too predictable...same garbage every year -

Rob, you are pathetic....Vidor never loses to Nederland, they just get hosed by the refs every year....take your loss (again) like a man and maybe, just maybe, you will get some of that respect you so desperately want...guys like you give Vidor the lack of respect that you whine so much about -

Neumann's system is built by kids who do what is best for the TEAM and has been that way for years...this kid and all of the Bulldogs will do the same...that is one of the reasons for their success -

Yep, Kirby was a good one, too who we also lost to injury his senior year unfortunately.
