All I know is it will be a heck of a game. Last 4 teams in the state in 4 a2. Playing for their right to make it to Dallas. And play for all the marbles. Know matter what we say as fans. Those kids have put in the work. Day in and day out. Long season. Every team. In my opinion play's just a little bit better. At this time of the season. Hope the game is injury free. Let the chips fall where they may. Still gonna root for WOS though. See everyone Friday. Good luck to both teams. From a fan of high school football. Safe travels everyone.

WO-S fans are truly grateful for the support of other schools for this game, especially those in our own district and throughout the Golden Triangle. I have one request for these other schools - wear your team's colors and/or jackets so we can identify you. We want to thank you when you are spotted at the game. We want to pack our side of the stadium and make more noise than the Navarro side. Again, the support is much appreciated. 

HJ will be there rooting on our district. I've read Navarro has speed. Well I can tell you that will be put to the test. WOS is loaded with speed. Does not always look like it on film. But in person. Well we all shake our heads some time. Js. Go Mustangs.

Control the clock, keep the ball off the ground, take advantage of all opportunities. Hawks fly high when they do those things.
Coaches have certainly put the kids in situations to be successful all year. We execute, we win a hard fought battle.

From what I have seen. They are just trying too get 12 involved more in the O. Boy got some wheels and moves. He's a gamer imo.

IMO this should be one hell of a game to be at.

OH we are here. We have a lot of respect for HJ and their fans, seem to be a good group of parents and players. Both teams are going to be matched pretty well.
To answer the question about Shepherd being banged up, yes we are banged up, but tell me what team that is still playing isn't? Every team will have some kids that are hurting, does that mean they are not going to play, well no!! I look for this to be a good game. I am interested to see how Shepherd responds from last Friday Night. If they respond like they did after Liberty then they will be ok.

I wouldn't be so quick to count the Bobcats out. If i remember correctly last year Bellville were supposed dismantle Hamshire Fannett but that game went completely down to the wire with Bellville winning by 2 points 21-19. It's playoffs anything can happen. This game will be a lot closer than people are predicting

I went to this game the other day. I pull for Liberty, but like to sit on the visiting side (better food and typically better seats). Anyway, I sat up next an old coach who was a pleasure to visit with. I never got his name, but his son is a coach on the HJ staff and he coached the 1985 Electra team that won the state title.
In my opinion, HJ won that game due to some great coaching. HJ basically wanted to wear Liberty down and was hoping for a few turnovers. It felt like HJ had the ball the entire game. They got more than a few turnovers and their last couple of possessions Liberty was just too tired to stop them. On the other side, I am unsure what Liberty was thinking on offense. Honestly, they had 0 reason to throw the ball and basically gave it way a few times whether that was through throwing an INT or killing their own drives. I think the Liberty coaches were trying to force the passing game when they didn't need too. That coach and I were wondering why Liberty wouldn't just keep running the trap. Seemed like they got 5 yards all night on it. Needless to say, it was a fantastic game and great display of coaching and determination from HJ. Their kids were ready to play and though they seemed undersized and a bit less athletic they were the better team that night. They had a great plan and executed it to near perfection. Also, if their field goal kicker would have been playing for the Arizona Cardinals or the Seattle Seahawks he would have saved us all some time back on our lives from that Sunday night snooze fest of missed field goals.
Once again, just one man's opinion, but that's how I saw it. I would be interesting in watching these teams play again in the playoffs. I am unsure how the bracket would line up because if WOS is between them playing again that won't happen, but I think it would be another close well fought game.

You are correct sir ..... a lot of teams practice ball stripping regularly as part of their warmup or conditioning drills, but some don't, and it shows right along with those tackling drills they neglect.

No you're right.  Hanging on to the ball is part of the game.  But I know for a certainty that every year a team wins a state championship that may not be the best team.  Teams that shouldn't win find a way to win all the time.  That's the beauty of competition..knowing that it's possible to win.
But here's what I expect from now on.  When any single person says "we should've won" or "we could've won".. I expect everyone else to say "nope.  That team was just better"

Way to hang in there and pull out the win. Congrats HJ.

Tx Panther, the only thing you should expect is to be 8-1 going into the last district game and come out of it 8-2 with a 3rd place finish.  One game at a time buddy.  Good luck

Not surprised. I don't even know why HJ would even put Hardin on the schedule other than to get an easy W. They will be tested next week though.
