  1. Yep, we have been trying to get in touch with Sheffield Productions for a year now.  Even posted on this forum looking for him.  He will not return calls.  At the end of last season he made some mistakes on 2 Lumberton teams videos and he said he would correct the mistakes and send them to one of our moms.  She tried repeatedly to contact him and get the videos but he never sent them.  So, I really hope he comes out of hiding for the playoffs this year so we can finally get money back or vidoes.  If I had my guess though, I bet he doesnt.
  2. What do Chris and Lumberton White have to do with how the Beaumont teams have turned around their programs?  Its a great thing to have a winning program for the players, the coaches as well as the parents and you all should be proud.  Why do you feel the need to put down another team and a coach who also work hard? .... "Its easy to coach a lil talent and have true parent support like the Lumberton team has".....  comment seemed unnecessary.  Lumberton wishes Beaumont continued success and we hope to see you in the playoffs.
  3. Texas Thunder has had a very successful team over the last several years.  We are looking to fill one spot for the upcoming season.  The player must be experienced and successful at the select level and be competitive at the elite level.  We practice twice weekly and a tryout can be set up during practice.  Practices are held at Ford Park and at Marauders field on Keith Rd in Lumberton.  Feel free to call or text Jeff Bridges at 409-656-2966 for details.  Take a look at our page on the Nations site under Lumberton Texas Thunder.
  4. During STJFL playoffs last year many Lumberton parents ordered videos and there were some quality issues.  Sheffield Productions offered to correct the problems and send videos to all of the parents who had purchased them.  We still have not received them or heard back from Sheffield Productions.  The games were Junior Red second round in West Orange and Pee Wee White Super Bowl.  Video guy, if you read this please reply or PM me so we can get this matter resolved.
  5. First I would like to thank Sheffield Productions for giving us the memories captured on the DVDs this season.  However, when a consumer pays $30 for a video of a special event it should be good quality.  For the most part it was.  One of our videos last week had the wrong header at the intro and had many mispronounced names (phonetic spelling was included on the roster).  Our team was even called Nederland Red at one point during the video.  As a parent, I overlooked this until I got a copy of our first game Saturday and this one had the wrong header as well.  I spent $120 on videos between the two Saturdays so I expect the headers to be correct and for the most part the names to be correct and the players names during the plays to be correct as well.  One of our boys had 3 great runs in a row and the credit on the video was given to a boy sitting on the bench at the time.  Isn't that why we provided 3 copies of the roster with phonetic spellings of each?  We expected, not demanded, for the mistakes to be fixed and this was done by Sheffield Productions.  They were very happy to fix them after the mistakes were brought to their attention but that is just good business, right?  Just asking....not (demanding).
  6. BigD, I also agree that size is not always an issue b/c my son was the hardest hitting kid on our Pee Wee team and he only weighs 67 pounds at 8 years old. Now next year when he moves up to juniors I think I have to side with tragichippy in that I'm not sure I would want a kid who weighs 110 pounds (and looks like he drove to the game in his new car) but he weighed 99.8 pounds at weigh in 3 months ago hitting my son. Is that going to be an excuse for him not to get out there and take his knees or feet out because he is a whole helmet and a half taller than my boy? Absolutely not but I think the point of this thread was that certain weight caps should be looked at and some rules could use a little tweaking in the interest of safety for the kids. Now as to what is the best way to do that, I'm not sure but I am pretty sure that when teamraider started this thread he was honestly trying to get some opinions from the forum, not attack West Orange Stark.
  7. We were told beforehand that the cords would not reach to our side, but for next year the visitors side should be filmed equally. Like everyone said, make preparations for next year. Otherwise, good work for such a short turn around.
  8. OK, West Orange fans l want to share a little insight with you from the Lumberton perspective without being argumentative. Your sports community gets to the highest level, the Super Bowl, pretty much every year and respectively so because that takes good coaching, talented kids and dedicated parents. Our community was so excited to have not one but three teams represented in the Super Bowl. After all of the controversy on this board, in the newspapers, on the TV, blah, blah, blah over the fight that happened at one of our games it was a great way to end the season for us, especially for our Pee Wee team since for some reason it was assumed that our team was involved as well, but that is another issue entirely. It was also upsetting as a mom to see my son, who has no part of this board, being called out by someone as "going to get a migrane" if he ran the whole game. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest b/c it has been bothering me for about a week now....and by the way he played harder than I have ever seen him play and I was sooo proud of him. Anyway, I guess what I want everyone to understand is that referrees aside, because there were bad calls on both sides according to both teams, is that when you win as a parent you are elated for your child because he won and he achieved his goal. When you are a parent of a child who loses, your heart breaks for your child when you know he played as hard as he could and you see him crying after the game. When you are dealing with that emotion and you hear the other team chanting a chant that they probably should not have been to 7 and 8 year old boys as they are crying on the field, as a parent, yeah that makes you mad. So as the mother of #20 of the Lumberton Pee Wee White Raiders I would like to congratulate your team for winning because your boys did play a phenomenal game. My son said that every time #4 hit him he would tell him "good run" and my son would tell him "good hit". We all need to remember than these guys are still little boys and to them they just want to play football!
  9. I thought the production was good and it made my son laugh that the announcers did not know who had the ball during his Pee Wee game. He thought it was great that he and his teammates fooled them. Even though we lost, it will be something we can look back on and see how great he played!
