I agree with that assessment completely I was referring to 10-4A-Div 1 as it is currently constituted.. And really referring to this years team, not what they have coming or what others are losing.

You put Lumberton and Ozen in 10-4A-Division 1 and they both struggle to make the playoffs.

Well, regardless if it is about them or not, I hate that coaches have so much power. It is one thing if a kid is still living in your district and just going to a school outside where they live for athletic purposes. But, if a parent decides they need to move their child for whatever reason, and picks up and moves the entire family, then a coach should sign off on the PAPF.

No trying to start a storm of any kind, just curious to see that notice on the UIL agenda.

I would say Lumberton, Ozen and Livingston would all be more competitive in 4A-Division 1, but in no way would it guarantee a playoff spot for any of the 3. The one good thing is they would feel better about scheduling 4A-Division 2 or even 3A-Division 1 schools in Non-District. Might help the appearance of that overall record.

Not arguing that most All-District teams are watered down. But, what most Districts do is take nominations with the intent to pick 11-13 players for each side of the ball. However, they usually stipulate that all ties get in. So if they are choosing 5 offensive lineman and 4 players are tied for the final 2 spots, then they give it to all four. That is why you usually see so many chosen.

If IMG thinks enough of him to recruit him, then I think they would give him a full ride, all expenses paid scholarship.

Has IMG been in contact? I'm sure he would fit right in down there.

Unfortunately, TEA probably has to take over the district and put people in place as a long-term solution. I don't know how else you fix the problem. Seems like a certain group of individuals in Beaumont are dead set on using BISD as their personal play ground. And they have effectively "pulled the wool over the eyes" of their constituents.

Oh, I'm sure they will have to sprinkle in some "improvements" to west Brook to get those Westenders on board, but a good salesman can get that done. Then they Harvey angle will have to be used to get some to vote for it, but i think the Bond will get passed in the long run.

It really does stink for those Central graduates that are proud of their school, but it was terrible for the graduates of South Park and Hebert and French as well. There is a long tradition of consolidation of schools in BISD. This will be just another step in the right direction. Doing what is best for the students NOW is what is important.

And Westbrook is in the 2400 range correct? So, sounds like the solution, 2 equally sized schools.

How close would the numbers be if they simply kept the boundaries as is and just left West Brook alone and combined Central and Ozen?

It would be a "Monumental" upset if Silsbee were to beat Carthage.

Saw them play Jasper and they looked small, slow, weak and not very tough. But, Jasper makes a lot of teams look like that. I kinda figured they would struggle with Madisonville's size. And that running back from Madisonville is stout.

Picking Center is definitely an East Texas homer pick, a lot like picking Atlanta. Atlanta and Center are very similar in that they both got off to very slow starts, but found thier footing late in the year and were able to win the games necessary to get into the playoffs. Slisbee could very well be the most athletic team in the entire Region. They play a smash moth brand of football that will give Center some problems. However, if you are able to stop the run they have the ability to throw the ball effectively and a very talented group of receivers. Silsbee wins this one and gets on a roll that takes them all the way to a showdown with Carthage (again).

Probably not worth it unless you are a hardcore H-J fan. Madisonville is solid and they have a running back that is as good as any H-J has played and an offensive line as good as Jaspers.

Still have it and it still fits!!! Wore it to my Home Town teams first State Championship game a few years ago.
