2. Central@Livingston - Easy pick, Lions roll, 11-1 Ozen@Nederland - Relatively easy pick, although I wouldn't be surprised if this one is not a blowout, 7-2 Lumberton@LCM - Bears get to White and Lumberton doesn't have the offense to rebound, 6-1 PNG@Vidor - PNG stays hot, Vidor scored 1 run combined vs. Lumberton & Nederland, same song and dance, 5-1
 3. March 22, 2013 (this past Friday) Nederland at PNG... PNG wins 2-1 in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 11th March 31, 2006 (seven years ago) PNG at Nederland... Nederland wins 2-1 in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 10th Great bit of 20-4A history! Would love to know head-to-head records between 20-4A teams since setxsports.com has been around. Would lead to great conversation and would show the stability of some of these great programs and the perseverance of others. 10 cheers for the first loyal setxsportster who posts this information and then our faithful admins can keep it updated from here on out. Baseball is all about history, stats, and records. Lets get this information so we can add to the great tradition of 20-4A baseball!

 5.
Ok be honest.  Who had Lumberton all alone in 1st after 4 games? This week will be a big test for the Raiders with LC-M & Nederland.
No one, but congrats to them. In a district where 4 of 8 teams make the playoffs, a 9-6 record will probably get you in and a 10-4 record is a lock, especially since you have a 2 game lead on the teams currently competing for the 4th spot (Vid. Liv. LCM). Essentially if the Raiders can win 5 of their remaining 10, its postseason time for the first time in L-town for YEARS! Here is how their remaining schedule shakes out: Mar. 26 - at Little Cypress-Mauriceville, 7:00 p.m.* Mar. 28 - Nederland, 7:00 p.m.* Apr. 5 - at Beaumont Ozen, 7:00 p.m.* Apr. 6 - Port Neches-Groves, 4:00 p.m.* Apr. 9 - at Beaumont Central, 7:00 p.m.* Apr. 12 - Vidor, 7:00 p.m.* Apr. 16 - at Livingston, 7:00 p.m.* Apr. 19 - Little Cypress-Mauriceville, 7:00 p.m.* Apr. 22 - at Nederland, 4:00 p.m.* Apr. 26 - Beaumont Ozen, 7:00 p.m.* Thats 3 "should be" guarantees so the Raiders just need to take at least 2 from the other 7 contests. As you can see, this week is huge for the Raiders because if they drop both games they will need to win at least 2 of their remaining 5 matchups with playoff contending teams. But if they can pull out both games they would at least have a .500 record with every playoff team avoiding any dreaded heads-up tie breakers from fall against their favor. We should have a much clearer view of where the Raiders stand at the conclusion of Thursday night's games. This week is also huge for the rest of 20-4A, as this could be the standings when the smoke clears Thursday night: Lumberton      6-0 or 5-1 or 4-2 Nederland        5-1 or 4-2 PN-G              5-1 or 4-2 Livingston        4-2 or 3-3 LC-M              4-2 or 3-3 Vidor              4-2 or 3-3 or 2-4 Central            1-5 Ozen              0-6 Vidor could find themselves near the top of the district if they can manage wins against the Indians and Lions, OR they could possibly find themselves at 2-4 looking up at the pack and needing to win at least 6 of their final 8 to have a shot at the postseason. PNG will be riding high and looking to carry momentum into their matchup with the Pirates and will probably look to give Ashworth the chance to post back-to-back solid outings which would likely send his confidence through the roof (if its not already there). And if he can get back on track, coupled with the great production they have recevied from LeDoux and Lekich, the Indians will be primed for a STRONG run at the 20-4A title. Livingston could also find themselves in a pretty solid spot at 4-2, while simultaneously crippling the Pirates, if they can pull it out against Vidor. And with Lanthrip at the helm, that team can beat anyone. And of course if the Panthers (v. Ned & PNG) or Jags (v. Liv & LCM) could pull out a win, you can throw all of this out the window and start from scratch! I'll be rooting for them to do just that as it will add even more excitement to an already exciting season. Should be a great week in 20-4A!
 6.
Considering coming down to Mid County and broadcast this game.
Good call on not making the trip... ::) ::) ::)
 7. Who has the most hits so far this season? (district and/or season)
 8. Who has the most strikeouts this far in the 2013 season? (District and/or season) Sanderson or Nevella from Nederland? Ledoux or Leckich from PNG? Smith from Vidor? White or Cambell from Lumberton? Lantrip from Livingston? Or someone else?
 9. Indians 5-4, the tribe needs this one badly to separate themselves (2-1) from Vidor (1-2) and LCM (1-2) in the playoff hunt.
 10. Vidor @ Central - Easy pick, Vidor gets back to .500 in district with a HUGE week coming up for them if they want to stay in the playoff mix. Vidor 14-2 LCM @ Ozen - Another relatively easy pick, Ozen has not competed as well as originally thought and LCM doesnt want to drop back to back games to fall to 1-3 in district. LCM 9-1 Liv @ Lumberton - I suspect Lumberton will hit a snag in this one, Livingston has kept games close and I just dont think Lumberton has the offense to overcome a game in which they give up more than 4 runs or so. If the Lions can get to Cambell early and force the Raiders to go to the pen, I think they take this one. Livingston 6-3 Ned @ PNG - Nederland has been the best team since week 1 in 20-4A but I'm just having a hard time believing they are THAT much better than every team in the district to make it through three of the four other teams who should compete for the playoffs (Vidor, LCM, PNG, Lum) without a blemish. At the reservation, Indians pull it out. PNG 5-4
 11.
PNG@Central Ozen@Livingston Nederland@LCM Lumberton@Vidor
PNG, easy pick. Livingston will have a tough time getting to Chambers but I suspect the Lions will push enough runs across and the Panthers defense will hurt their chances. Nederland is too hot right now not to pick them but a Bears win here would not surprise me one bit. The ball flies at LCM and just one mistake could be enough to cost either team this game. This game could go either way honestly but I'm going with the Pirates with one caveat: I'm assuming Vidor will limit the walks unlike the Raiders have done over the past few weeks. My guess is that if White gives up 5+ walks tonight, even with 10+ strikeouts, the Pirates will capitalize and pull this one out 6-3. However, if Vidor gives up their fair share of walks in this one too or their defense fails them like this past week, its anyones' game.
Vidor has won six games when scoring 8+ runs but when they score under 6 runs they are 0-4. On the other hand, while Nederland has also won six games when scoring 8+ runs, they have gone 4-0-2 when scoring under 6 runs. My prediction, if Vidor gets Sanderson and they cant score at least 6 runs (which I doubt they do) they lose. Smith will keep Nederland away from scoring 8+ but the Dogs will get enough to get the win. I'm going with a 4-1 final but it should be a good one with around 20 total strikeouts between the two pitchers. As for LCM and PNG on Friday, IMO this will be the best game of the week as there is a possibility that either or both of these teams could be 1-0 or 0-1 going into this game, with a chance for one of the two to get off to a great start or really stumble out of the gate. At LCM, Ill take the Bears 7-5.
Yes, I agree that Nederland is clearly above the rest as it stands now. They have a dominant arm in Sanderson and have the offense that is capable of putting up crooked numbers against anyone. LCM will always be in contention but I dont know if they have enough talent to win games away from the matchbox they play their home games in. PNG has underperformed IMO but if Ashworth gets rolling then this team should win just about every game he throws in. Vidor has some pitching but is also underperforming IMO and their offense is just too inconsistent. Lumberton is inconsistent in every facet of the game it seems , and I dont believe they have the stud arm to win low scoring games against other top aces. Ozen and Livingston are both good when their #1 is on the mound but they just dont have enough around them to be consistent. And Central is Central but hopefully they will take steps in the right direction this season. Six days and counting!
This statement should read.... PNG has underperformed IMO but as long as Ledoux continues rolling then this team should win just about every game he throws in. Rake1
Na, I'm going to stick with my previous statement. Clearly Ledoux is already rolling right now and the Indians have been great with him on the bump. But that being said, (depending on how your schedule falls) having a 1-2 you can throw out there and be the favorite every night is the key in district play. I picked PNG to win district this year back in January and if Ashworth can get on a roll (and if Ledoux can continue doing what he has done) I think there is a good chance this team could give Nederland a run for the 20-4A title.

 17.
I think Nederland has surprised a lot of people.Wins over Kelly,Santa Fe,Brazoswood,Angleton,Foster.Morton Ranch,Friendswood and Clear Lake.I do not think anyone has played a tougher schedule than Nederland. Also a tie 1-1 to Jersey Village and a beat down by Pearland. This team can pitch and hit very well. Both were big ? marks about this team. They have proven that they can play the low scoring game and the slug-fest.I am very pleased what I have seen from the Dogs after the first two tournaments!
Agreed. IMO Ned is top dog in 20-4A as it stands one week away from the district opener. LCM was up and down during their tournament this past weekend and failed to really show they've got it all together yet. PNG looks like they are still pulling loose strings together but I'm certain they will do so within the next week. Vidor seems to have somewhat rebounded from a very shaky start by going 3-1 last week. Lumberton was probably the most inconsistent team this past week but did show their ability to keep games close against good teams in the LCM tourney. Next Tuesday night will be interesting!
