1. Wow, BC. That is impressive. Gives the team a lot of confidence knowing 1 or 2 runs could win them the game because the pitching has been so dominant
2. Counting district games except v Central OZE: 20 RS - 58 RA (Diff. -38) LCM: 52 RS - 32 RA (Diff. +20) LIV : 33 RS - 14 RA (Diff. +19) LUM: 10 RS - 52 RA (Diff. -42) NED: 48 RS - 21 RA (Diff. +27) PNG: 34 RS - 17 RA (Diff. +17) VID:  12 RS - 36 RA (Diff. -24) RS = Runs Scored RA = Runs Allowed
3. 20-4A playoff teams pretty much set, just the order of the top four left to be decided. Unless of course either Vidor or Lumberton can win out and get to 8 wins AND if Ned, Liv, or LCM loses 3 of their next 5...
4. Final 0 - Vidor 1 - Lumberton Pitching: Vidor - Smith 8 K, Foshee 1 K Lumberton - Johnson 7 K
5. End 6 0 - Vidor 1 - Lumberton Pitching: Vidor - Smith 8 K, Foshee 1 K Lumberton - Johnson 6 K
6. End 5 0 - Vidor 0 - Lumberton Pitching: Vidor - Smith 8 K Lumberton - Johnson 3 K
7. End 4 0 - Vidor 0 - Lumberton Pitching: Vidor - Smith 7 K Lumberton - Johnson 2 K
8. End 3 0 - Vidor 0 - Lumberton Pitching: Vidor - Smith 4 K Lumberton - Johnson 1 K
9. Notable games: Tuesday - PNG v. Nederland Friday - Nederland v. Livingston Saturday - LCM v. Vidor Also, Ozen plays PNG and Vidor this week. And Lumberton plays Vidor, PNG, and Livingston this week. Both could really shake things up if they can pull out a win in one of those. My prediction: After Saturday the top 5 in the district standings will be: PNG 10-1 Nederland 9-2 Livingston 7-4 LCM 7-4 Vidor 6-5
10. With all eight teams playing three games this week (Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday) and with several key match-ups, this week is the biggest week of the season for 20-4A. After PNG's win v. Livingston and Vidor's win v. Nederland, we are far from knowing what four teams will advance to the postseason from this top-tier district. However, I have a feeling after Saturday things will be much more clear for many teams. What do the setxsportsters think about the importance of this week in 20-4A and the specific match ups that are on the schedule for each team?
11. From the looks of it Graham may be the top pitcher in 20-4A this year... Been huge for PNG
12. FINAL 0 - Nederland 2 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 10 k's Nederland - Fontenot 5 k's
13. Going top 7: 0 - Nederland 2 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 10 k's Nederland - Fontenot 5 k's
14. Going bottom 6: 0 - Nederland 2 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 10 k's Nederland - Fontenot 5 k's
15. Going top 6: 0 - Nederland 2 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 7 k's Nederland - Fontenot 5 k's
16. Going top 5: 0 - Nederland 2 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 7 k's Nederland - Fontenot 5 k's
17. Going top 4: 0 - Nederland 1 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 5 k's Nederland -  2 k
18. Going bottom 2: 0 - Nederland 0 - Vidor Pitchers: Vidor - Foshee 4 k's Nederland - Fontenot
19. Seems like LCM just gave the whole district a shot at making the playoffs if they can put together a hot streak!
20.
Alright I still have hope for the playoffs we played ok tonight , I honestly thought we would pull this one out kudos to the team from Livingston . I remember the # 6 kid from last year I think his name was Moore not 100 percent on that one but he dang sure shut us down seemed like he had like 10 different pitches lol! Is this their number 1 guy cause he has some of the the best stuff I've seen this year I had him at like 84 to 87 all night . If they got more in their aresonel they could make a good run just my opinion .
The truth about Vidor's chance to make the playoffs after the loss to Livingston is all in the numbers: Wins: - PNG 7 - Livingston 5 - Nederland 5 (with one game left in 1st half) - LCM 4 (with one game left in 1st half) - Vidor 2 If Vidor has any shot at making the post-season it has to come though wins against the teams above them. Assuming the top four teams take care of business against Central, Ozen, and Lumberton--then Vidor AT BEST will need to make up a 2 game difference with LCM (meaning Vidor will have to either beat LCM and then take 1/3 from either Liv, PNG, or Ned--or if Vidor loses to LCM then they would need to win 2/3 from Liv, PNG, Ned--all of that considering that LCM loses to Liv, Ned, and PNG--if they don't then each win LCM gets then Vidor needs another in their 3 with Liv, Ned, or PNG) Bottom line is Vidor MUST at minimum win 4 of 7 (if LCM loses tonight and Vidor beats LCM when they face the second time) or at minimum win 5 of 7 (if LCM beats Ned. tonight) Tough task? You bet. Possible? Yes. But a LCM loss v. Ned tonight and a Vidor win vs. Ned Thursday would be HUGE! Would be nice if they made this interesting and kept this a five horse race. To do this, they have got to look high and low for some offense because averaging 1.66 runs per game in district (minus the Central game) isn't going to get it done.
21.
Just heard game is cancelled and moved to wed.Nederland has a dry field and is ready to play but Griff does not want to give up home field advantage. My question is if PNG and Central are switching fields and moving up game times why are NED and LCM not doing the same thing.LCM would get the last home game of the season.Playing wed. is a joke! If  you have looked at the weather.Could it be that LCM is trying to back the game up into the holiday weekend in hopes that NED will save Brown for PNG on tues.Should not be able to cancel a game if the other team has a dry field.
LCM needs this win. I'm not saying they are slumping but losing 3 straight after starting 4-0 in district may cause reason for concern. IMO nothing wrong with Griff wanting to keep the home/away schedule as it was set. I'm sure there is a legitimate reason to move the game to tomorrow, otherwise this would be a reoccurring issue and a much bigger problem. I'm going with LCM 5-3 considering the Bears are able to get into the bullpen for more than one inning. If Brown goes 7, Ned may pull it out...
22. Must win game for Pirates to keep their post-season chances alive and a win for the Lions would keep them in position for a shot a their first 20-4A District Title. Who is gonna be on the bump for either team and who takes it in the end? I'm going 5-1 Livingston. (But wouldn't be surprised if Vidor found a way to pull this one off, if they do its going to have to start with a good pitching performance from whomever they decide to go with: Foshee, Smith, Peno, or Fregia; because Livingston will have a guy on the hill (Moore or Lantrip) who is likely to put up several goose eggs) Vidor has played better over their last 3 games but had a bad inning against PNG and LCM which cost them both games. Livingston is coming off a huge win against LCM, as they have proven that the pre-season hype was well deserved. Should be a good one so go out and support your local teams!
