Just got word that both schools superintendents agreed to remove each other from their schedules. This was solely based on the recent incident.

Jasper has dropped Newton from their football schedule for next year. Newton is now looking for a week 3 opponent, Sept. 8 Not sure what the reason for Jasper to do this in the middle of a realignment but one has to think it could stem from the recent shooting.

Yea but I think he has definitely found his place as a safety. That's what he plays in these select 7 on 7 leagues and camps. Defense should be fine but losing Williams, Harper and Martin is a pretty good loss.

WB kid (Jacaleb Johnson) is staying in Silsbee. Will be a soph. next year. He will be a big addition to the basketball team next year. From what was sent to me, the SA kid (Mikey Mosier) will be a junior next year, '6'3 190. Already getting looks.

Will lose 4 good seniors (Harper, Williams, Brisbane and Jackson) and I have been told Miller will not play next year because he will be enrolling early at university he chooses. Silsbee does get two really good players off JV that would have been varsity last year but had to play JV due to transfer rules. They also get middle school phenom Peyton Jones next year.

Not what I have been told. He will battle a transfer in from San Antonio that is the real deal. Word is he will be starting QB. The West Brook transfer is not eligible to play till Nov. 6 but even if he was, it's the SA players job to lose.

According to Coach Smalley, he told me it will be very close but expects to be moved up to 4A next alignment.

That will never happen. If I know Brad, he's not looking to move down a classification, but possibly move up.

I think there is a reason why he is not employed by any school district. At least, I don't think he is.
