Just wanted to give a shout out to Vidor boys basketball team and Coach Joseph Hoyt. The Pirates come in at #21 in state in class 4A this week. It's their first state ranking since the Brian English days at Vidor. Very well deserved and most definitely earned. Congrats and keep up the great work!

Nope. He wanted to get into administration. I have known plenty of coaches who were school admins. Yes, some did it for the extra salary. If you are going to compare 6A school salaries to 4A DII salaries, that is pretty stupid.

He was actively coaching. He was doing both. He was the defensive line coach.

He was a defensive coach on Thompson's staff. Was assistant principle, not former. Did not become former until he was hired as AD/HC.
