I think the Silsbee administation needs to get a crew out there between today and tomorrow. A winning program like Silsbee should have a better field to play on.
There is nothing the maintenance crew can do from now until Friday to make the field any better. It is what it is, sadly.
Wow, that is crazy the '09 game did that much damage. I remember it looking rough at the end of the game.
The field condition was compounded the very next week when Silsbee had to play Bridge City on that field in sloppy conditions. Those two weeks doomed that field. Silsbee has been working very hard since then to get the field in decent shape. Just hasn't happened yet.

Must be something in the water in West Hardin if you think your gonna win district. Big Sandy wont be as good as they were last year but they will still win district hands down.
B.S. will be a lot better than they were last year.
I agree. I don't know where some of these folks are getting their info about Big Sandy not being as good as last year. They will be better. -
Us Mustang fans accept your apology and humbly offer our own stadium Friday night to help you out in your time of need as our field is in great shape. ;)
I honestly wish it was that simple. When you see the field Friday night, you will understand what I am talking about. It may look decent from the bleachers, but walk out on the field and you will quickly see the "rodeo arena" conditions. :-[

Not too bad results considering 75% of your varsity team(including 3 starters and 3 key reserves) is still playing football. ;)
What is wrong with the field? They haven't played a game there in 2 weeks! Can the superintendent make some pulls and fix it before Friday? Does SISD realize that you lose money during playoff games with a jacked up field?
The field has been in bad shape since week 0. The field has progressively gotten worse as the season moves on. It has never recovered from a few years ago in the slop game that Silsbee and WO-S played in '09. Because of the condition of the field, Silsbee has no intention of hosting any playoff games.

But honestly Silsbee has so many kids that deserve to be on there...
I was thinking that nobody would know who belongs there until after the season has been completed
Me too. -
For the condition of the field at Tiger Stadium. The field is in terrible shape and is an embarrassment to Silsbee football, it's players and coaches, Silsbee ISD and it's community. This game deserves a better surface to be played on and it simply is a shame that these young men will have to play one of the marquee games of our area in these terrible conditions. I hope that no player is injured due to the condition of the field and that it doesn't play a part in the outcome of this game. Hopefully after Friday night's game, any game played in the future at Tiger Stadium will never have to be played in this condition. It's time to fix this problem and make Tiger Stadium one of the best stadiums in Southeast Texas. It's time for turf!!!! Again Mustang Nation, the Tigers do apologize.

TOUPS GRAPHICS DISTRICT 19-4A GAME OF THE WEEK Summer Creek vs Dayton 7:00 PM Bronco Stadium This game will be like Ali vs Frasier. Probably the only game in Texas this week featuring two unbeaten state ranked teams will happen at Bronco Stadium. The Broncos haven't lost a district game since the 4th graders at Kimmie Brown (Dayton's elementary) were born. This game will be decided by turnovers. Both defenses might have an edge on the offenses. Which defense will create the most mayhem? Check back Thursday for the.... TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION I am beginning to wonder if this guy purposely puts inaccurate info just to have folks critique it. ::) If my memory serves me correctly, Barbers Hill beat Dayton last year in district play. ;) -
I don't think you need to call anybody an idiot. I can assure you I am NOT an idiot! I can disagree with what is typed on here, that's what this website was created for: discussion within the rules. One would think that two teams battling for a district crown with only one loss between them and one team with a state ranking would have an edge. Mike and I talk and we don't always agree but we don't call each other names either.
Well I guess using that criteria we should have had the Summer Creek/Dayton game as our Big School game of the week. Or maybe even the LP/PAM game. ::) -

I'll reserve predicting how far WOS will go in the playoffs till after the Silsbee game. If they shutout Silsbee or hold them to 7 points, then I say they have as good a shot at a title as any of the teams mentioned in the earlier posts. No way Coldspring has as good of team as they had last year without Gilbert. This year's scores reflect that. No way last year's team loses to LCM. I'll say whoever comes out of Region 3 this year gets the title.
Have you seen them play? What scores prove that CS is worse this year than last? The LCM game was a bust. The whole team played like crap. Had a pre-season all-state lineman pick hurt his knee in the 1st quarter and get carried off the field. He is a leader on the team and with him sitting on the bench, you could see the breath go out of the team. They played like crap and with a little help from the refs got their butts handed to them. Other than that game, and the stomping that Navasota put on them, they have played better against every other school they have faced. I can assure you, that this year's offense is better than last year's.
Well let's just do some score comparisons from this year and last year. District games '11 '12 Shepherd 59-0 69-7 Tarkington 67-8 51-0 Splendora 67-0 55-7 Huffman 20-3 60-21 Liberty 68-13 68-16 Cleveland 61-0 37-17 ------ -------- 342-24 340-68 avg. 57 - 4 56.7 - 11.3 Coldspring scored more points in 3 games last year than they did this year. CS scored more points in 2 games this year. They scored the same amount in the Liberty game both years. I think CS offense was better last year, but not by much. But, last year's defense was much better than this years defense.
