  1. In 6A Region III, the only team I see that has a shot at a state championship is Aldine Davis. Fort Bend Travis, North Shore and Sam Houston will pose them a threat but I see Davis repping Region III in SA. But, Atascocita out of Region II is my pick to win it all. 5A Region III is loaded!!!! As many as 6 teams has a good chance to win it all. Fort Bend Bush, Fort Bend Elkins, Beaumont Central, Beaumont Ozen, Fort Bend Marshall and Houston Yates are the top in Region III. Anyone of those could beat Lancaster or others from DFW area. I may be bias, but in 4A I think Silsbee is the favorite with Houston Wheatley, Hardin-Jefferson, Navasota battling them for regional title. LaMarque will be tough coming out of Region IV and Argyle out of Region II will be also. 3A, not so much. Kountze, East Chambers, Palastine Westwood and White Oak are most likely the ones to make SA out of Region III, but really do not like any of their chances to win it all. 2A??? BIG SANDY!!!!! Next. Well, just for convo purposes, the region is good with Grapeland, LaPoyner, Tenaha and San Augustine but the state title is Big Sandy's to lose, imo. Hope this answers your question
  2. It's been my personal goal the last few seasons to see at least 100 teams in person. I have accomplished this the last two years with last year seeing 109 teams. Well I am halfway there thru the first 4 weeks of this season with 51 teams. Hope to reach that 100 goal again. Here is the list of teams I have seen so far: New Caney LaMarque The Woodlands Baytown Lee Alvin Katy Dayton Nederland Caney Creek Brazosport Conroe Oak Ridge Magnolia West New Caney Porter Silsbee Beaumont Central Beaumont West Brook Jasper WO-S East Chambers Orangefield Lufkin Hudson Kountze Splendora Buna Big Sandy Beaumont Legacy Huffman Shepherd Hardin-Jefferson LC-M Newton Anahauc Kirbyville Martinsville West Sabine Corrigan-Camden Leggett Tatum Aransas Pass Dallas Adams Longview Tyler Chapel Hill Brock Fairfield Fort Bend Bush Fort Bend Elkins Fort Bend Travis Houston Sam Houston Arlington Bowie Fort Bend Hightower Fort Bend Marshall

  6. Have to say, but Silsbee was exposed in these last two games. Got lot's to work on. A couple of quick stats for this game: Silsbee was 9/25 FT and 4/28 three pointers
  7. Their tourney is over. Headed home.
  8. 4 minutes left Silsbee 48 Hightower 76
  9. Silsbee needs to focus on winning this final quarter be it by 1 point or ever how many. Tigers look very uninspired.
  10. end 3rd Silsbee 42 Hightower 66
  11. 2:10 3rd Silsbee 35 Hightower 60

  14. No, they do not win this one or any other time they would play Bush this year. There was a reason why Silsbee only scored 12 points in the first half. I admit, Silsbee played much better in 2nd half, but still lost by 30.
  15. This was pretty simple to analyze. Silsbee is just not in Bush's league. In fact, Silsbee looked "bush" league tonight. My good friend WOSgrad had a great comparison tonight. He compared this loss to the WO-S football loss to Richmond Foster. I agree. Silsbee was out manned, out classed, out coached, out everything. Silsbee could play Bush 25 times and would lose all 25 games. They are by far the best team Silsbee has faced this season and it's not even close. The "stay in your lane" analogy would fit quite well in this situation. I see where some have brought Central into this thread. Well, after seeing Silsbee play both, Bush would handle Central with no problem. Bush has to be the favorite to win 5A region III based on what I have seen so far. Tigers need to put this one behind them and move on. They will not see a better team the rest of the year, that's a fact.

  19. No need. Jim Hicks and RCS sports is hyping it enough.
  20. He isn't. Adams and Maze lead Silsbee in scoring through first 8 games. D. McCain will not play this tourney nor will he likely play next week on Monday against Lufkin and Friday against Orangefield.
  21. On Thursday, the day began with the local ABC network breaking the news that 3 of Bush HS players were recently treated for symptoms of Staph Infections. All 3 were cleared to play this weekend in this event. Meanwhile, Bush cruised past Jeff Davis and Kempner in pool play. They will open bracket play this evening with a showdown against fellow top 10 team, Silsbee. The Tigers are playing this weekend minus leading scorer Devin McCain 6'0 frosh (mild knee injury suffered last weekend). However, they do have enough firepower because all of the football players are now in uniform, including junior sibling Michael McCain.
