Class 1A DI State Semifinal San Augustine (23-6) vs. Mumford (38-0) Winner will face winner of El Paso Harmony/Dallas Triple A for state championship. I will provide updates of this game.

Again, it's my understanding from a person in the know of Yates basketball that 6 of the 15 listed are what you consider "homegrown" players. The rest transferred in as freshmen or later. Take that for what it's worth because I simply do not know how the elementary and middle school systems in HISD work as to what high school a student attends.

What do you mean by "takes"?

As far as this 6A stuff, all that's going to happen is each classification gets "renamed or reclassified". What is now 1A DI will become 2A, 2A will be 3A, 3A will be 4A, 4A will be 5A, and 5A will be 6A. There will be some schools that are borderline that will remain in the same classification. I expect the lower 5-10% of schools in each class to remain in the same classification they are now in. Example, Lumberton who is currently 4A, could remain 4A since they are in the bottom 10% of 4A enrollment. The rest of 20-4A will probably move to 5A. Just a guess though on how the UIL will set the enrollment numbers.
