Don't get me wrong, I am not for any kind of mercy rule. I think coaches can handle these situations on their own.

In my post you do not see me say anything about not playing hard. BTW, in most of these cases there are no 12, 13 and 14 players. And in most these scenarios, those end of bench players should be in game by start of 3rd.

Sorry, I don't like when teams are still pressing and shooting three's in 4th Q when up by 30-80 points no matter if they have their bench players in. This includes my Silsbee Tigers. In those cases, you cannot tell me the game cannot be played in a different manner. Never liked the "kick'em when they down" mentality. I can say I have seen games end up being 60-80 point blowouts with the winning team doing all it could to keep the score down as much as possible. It was just the other team was very bad. But I have also seen teams still pressing, playing up tempo when leading by 50 in 4th. That to me is completely unnecessary.

No Harmony Science in basketball district with Bridge City, LC-M, Orangefield, Hamshire-Fannett, Silsbee and WO-S. Will be just a 6 team district for basketball and baseball. 10 district games. Hardin-Jefferson will stay in district with Cleveland, Huffman, Liberty, Shepherd and Tarkington.

West Sabine and Zavalla decided to flip a coin. Zavalla won flip, they are #2 seed and will play Sabine Pass. WS #3 and will play Evadale

Today is the day UIL will hear all appeals in regards to the realignment this past Feb. 1. We will know the status of Beaumont West Brook and Beaumont Harmony Science appeals later today. Also big news regarding Livingston. It appears that Livingston turned in inaccurate numbers for realignment. Their accurate snap shot number actually will keep them in 5A. Will be interesting to see how UIL handles this. If Livingston goes back to 5A (which they should) this will cause several teams to look for games to complete their 10 game schedule.

Great points. Cannot really argue with any of them. But, to speak on what I put in bold if I may. 3rd round of the playoffs, Silsbee vs. El Campo. Silsbee trailed 42-35 with 1:19 left in game, on their own 23 yard line, no time outs left. Dontre Thomas LED his team on a game winning drive, throwing a TD pass with no time remaining, making the score 42-41. Dontre convinced the coaches to go for two and the win and then called his own number, scoring the two pointer and winning the game, 43-42. I would say that qualifies as a leader of a team and being the man on the final drive. I congratulate Dallas and Tims. Job well done. I voted Thomas for offense, Tims for defense.
