  1. Silsbee fans need to quickly understand that the days of blow out wins in district are over for a few years. Every district game will be a battle. Combination of Silsbee dropping off some and everyone else being better.

  10. Strictly talking championship game, not semis. 51 is the all time record at state tourney.
  11. You didn't say 4A. You said first team in Texas.
  12. Also, McCain's 39 in state championship game is a 4A record, not all classification.
  13. Incorrect. Houston Wheatley and San Antonio East Central scored over 100 in state championship game. Wheatley did it in 1970 and East Central in 1995.
  14. It's my understanding he began his 7th grade year at Silsbee when Adams, etc. were in 8th grade but was moved to Legacy during the year.
  15. Let me clarify my comments and what other coaches have told me. This current 8th grade group is better as 8th graders than what the Adams, McCain, Tyler group were as 8th graders.
  16. Bush did not play middle school at Silsbee. I have seen this 8th grade group play. As a whole, they are better. Easily 9-10 deep. Also, I have spoken to other area high school coaches who have seen this group play. All believe this group will be as special if not better than the Adams, McCain, Tyler class. Time will definitely tell but it's not wishful thinking on my part.
  17. Based on what? Lumberton very well may win but neither team will win in a blowout.
  18. For 2021 one name that should be around the top of the local list is Silsbee defensive tackle Ayden Bell.
  19. This group as a whole is better than they were.
  20. Lost $230 on the last 4 bets. Total for New Year's Day= +$1070
  21. When that 8th grade group gets thru high school.
