Yeah, I know. Maybe Beaumont Ozen and Beaumont Central can testify for us. It was just a shame that ignorance has to rule the day in 2011. It could have started a great series of games. I love the fact they think we're gonna be a pushover.

Great bunch of kids who play 56 minutes hard and don't quit. Really, it's a testimony to Jeff Mathews and his coaching staff. We went a couple of decades being the cellar after some success in the 70s; Jeff has a winning record with the Pirates which would be unheard of 15 years ago. It has taken a long time to remove the racist stigma as well as the losing one. As long as we can keep him, I expect us to be  in the playoff hunt every year and he's a great ambassador for our commmunity.

I believe Vidor turned a corner when we hired Jeff as head coach and AD in 1999. All the hard work he and that coaching staff has put into the team is paying dividends. For once, we've kept the same coach for more than three years and allowed a PROGRAM to be developed. Perhaps some on the school board need a little props as well.

I glad Jeff played to win tonight. I was really wondering if he would keep some players on the bench. The kids and coaching staff showed me they're ready for the playoffs and this was great way to vault into the game against Crosby.

GoDogs27, I don't think mytwocents meant we would take any team lightly in the playoffs however, I like our chances on a neutral field. We lost to both you and PNG by one score on your home fields respectively. From my experiences, part of your list needs to include self confidence...you can't win unless you believe it. Personally, I would like to see all four 20-4A teams at Da Butch for a Saturday love fest verses 19-4A. Best stadium around half way between the schools.

Just move WOS back up to 4A where they belong. Everyone knows they smoke their enrollment numbers to stay in 3A. God rest his soul; Dan Hooks was a master at this. He had kids from New Orleans on his team five days after Katrina hit.

It could be -38 and he'll be wearing those shorts. I'm just wondering if he's washed them yet....God bless Jeff and his coaching staff for all the good they've done with our Pirates. We usually wait a decade or more to make a return to the playoffs. Twice in three years is dreamland stuff for Pirate fans....
