  1. WB "Mr. 35" Cameron Mickles. 5'10 (PG) has the ability to get you 30pts. 5rbs. 5assist, 5 steals a game. Still a Fr. though so numbers may not reflect as high this year but skillset is there!

BU Traylen Porchia 6'6 Fr. is long an active finishing around the rim is a good one! Also, one of the best shooters around is BU 6'2 Fr. Wesley Yates has a high basketball IQ & is very capable of knocking down 3's from deep to impact a game!

    Bright futures ahead!

#22 Silsbee's Dakota Matthews is steadily improving and should acguire College offers with her spead, quickness, jumping ability, hustle and all-around play! A 2018 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team Willie Ray Smith Award Selection who averaged 10pts., 3assist, 3 rebs, 4 steals a game has increased early thus season to 21pts., 5 assist, 4 rebs, 6 steals a game! She has a Big upside to her game and will be a great addition to a College team in the very near future!

Correction 79-49. I will say united. This is bad pam still trying to develop fundamentals.

As a Basketball Skills trainer i see the lack of fundamentals in every level of basketball from Elementary, M.S. & H.S.! I work with Silsbee's #22 D. Matthews and after 3 months she's increased her steals and went from 10pts. a gm. to 20 plus and her skillset is increasing! She has some things we need to improve but she will show how the training improves her overall gm.! It's not just about playing you have to train to attract those coveted scholarships!

  4. Attention: Teams 10u, 8u & 6u who are interested in playing in a local basketball league in Beaumont Tx., we have something just for you. The T'Lae Basketball League will begin its inaugural year April 22nd, 2017 & ends June 10th for those kids who love basketball. First 8 teams registered in each division will be awarded to play! Limited spots available! Contact Coach John for more information: (409) 351-8387

  5. I love it, everybody pump for some football! I'm just glad the game is played in-between the lines and not online! Lol, Ozen should just forfeit from what I'm hearing. I have 2 boys who just returned last week and several others who I've  had the pleasure  in coaching. They have heart and won't just lay down, besides Central misses Ozen's new coaches because they kept the players motivated. A better defensive scheme should be able to slow some of those Pirates big plays down. "Let's Go Panthers!"

Have your coach email me [email protected]

i am setting up the schedule this weekend for the area high school teams

I was referring to the  Fall League played at Westbrook H.S. or around the Beaumont area. Is this the same league that you are speaking  of? If not does anyone  have information  on  the Fall League played at Westbrook H.S.?

  7. Does anyone have information as to when registration  starts and where the H.S. Fall Ball  Leagues  will start or be played at. I have a 16 and 17 year old who has retired from  football to play  baseball and wants to  play fall ball with there H.S. team throughout the week preferably. Thanks in advance.

Just curious, he can answer this or you can.  If not for this rule, what school would his child be at?

Also, to me, how do you ever get the other 2 schools to improve if you continue to allow the "smart kids" (not saying there are no smart kids at the other 2) to transfer?  I have a sophomore and freshman at Central this year.  My freshman just left Odom going through the Pegasus Academic program.  I know it's middle school but he finished very high in his class, receiving several awards.  He is at a high school Chemical engineering camp at this very moment at Lamar yet still will play football and run track. I feel like he will graduate from Central in the top 5% if not higher.  My point is that there are kids that excel academically at all 3 schools, they should get stricter with the boundaries or have none at all...

Good point! Tony Brown will graduate from Alabama a full year earlier and he is a product of Ozen H.S.. There are several kids doing well academically and striving in the work place from both Central and Ozen despite some of the problems they faced their. If kids are teachers are never around quality or pushed to obtain quality and simply run to quality then the schools will never reach their full potential academically.  What happen to pride in making b our schools and communities better. Sometimes we have to become part of the solution to fix the problem!  IJS

Well now they have a coach is who is a product of the program and wants to be there. He's not going to quit to take a job Legacy. He cares about his alma mater so the effort will be there. There are some great kids in that program. I wish him well. I hope they beat everybody but Central.

I agree that he will work hard and is dedicated to the success of the program as it being his alma matter. Good guy who generally loves the kids and is a good educator. He has a creative mind and a hit 'em in the mouth 1st mentality. It may take a minute but he will turn things around for the best. It's not just a paycheck for him like the previous 2 HC's.

  10. That would not be good. If Ozen gets someone who can develop the program and be there for some years they will be fine. I've been helping kids in little league keep intrested in baseball. Many of them realize that they have to play summer ball and some are now playing year round. They always have talent but now some of them are taking lessons as well. Several athletes who need to gain experience, learn baseball skills and knowledge that's all. Don't cheat the kids.

  11. Ozen H.S. will be looking to replace its Head Baseball Coach as he resigns to work closer to home and eliminate the long commute. We appreciate everything Coach Cullivan has done for our kids and the program as he has definitely impacted in in a positive way and has it going in the right direction. Although we hate to see him leave we do understand his decision is what's best for he and his family! We wish him all the best!

Hopefully Ozen can get a quality coach and assistant to help this program become what it can be. Currently they loose 3 Varsity starters but return 6 Varsity pitchers, all but 3rd base left fielder and center fielder. Nine of their players are currently playing in the Nederland Babe Ruth summer league and 3 of them have made the S.E. Texas Banditos Travel Team. Ozen's program in the past had been lacking having kids play baseball after the school season but now have several kids wanting to play year-round. This would be a good fit for an energetic coach with a vision.

Stowers applied for a job every year football seaon ended. He couldn't get out of here fast enough. IMO Stowers would be a horrible hire and Ozen would be in this same boat inside three years. I think Ozen should find a relatively young and up and coming head coach with SETX ties and the ability to connect with his players.

See, this is the info I want to read. Deeper details of what you need or don't need in a coach. No generalizations.

Wow, a few years ago we were on this same subject.

  13. Congrats to all of the All-District 22-5a 1st & 2nd Team selections. I'm especially proud of my son, Ozen's (Jr.) Elishah "Li Li" Simpson and my former player/neighbor who we encouraged at the age of 12 to start playing baseball. Congrats to Ozen's (Sr.) Deonte Darjean for working extremely hard to receive this notification. Great kid with great character and big things ahead of both of them.
