The wife of Colmesneil head baseball coach, Jacob Hooker, who is also an educator at the school, was involved in a serious car wreck on the way back from the game tonight along with another young lady! Prayers for both of them are needed and greatly appreciated!

I am gonna be a homer and go opposite.  Warren 3 Woodville 1.  These games have been fun to watch over the years.  This year won't be any different.  I won't be able to attend though.  Gotta support my Lady Warriors playing home that night.

Manziel? Bridgewater? Bortles? Clowney? Or maybe someone unexpected like Sammy Watkins or Derek Carr?

My personal thoughts are Bortles. He has the size at 6'5" and 235lbs to take shots in the NFL and the athleticism to run the ball when needed. He has a cannon for an arm and is the most accurate of the three top QB candidates. While a Clowney/JJ Watt pairing is tempting, I think Bortles has the potential to be a superstar in the NFL with the right coaching an talent around him.

The pay would be up by a decent amount. And by "more to work with", he means there are more students and more players in the program. And I will be the first to tell you that Warren has some talent in their 9th grade group that this district should be ready for if their new coach can develop it.

Congrats Warren! You got a good one! And Warren is a much better opportunity than Deweyville at this point in time. The program might not be too successful, but that is one of the better school districts in SETX. Contrary to popular belief, the two biggest school districts in Tyler County(Woodville and Warren) are among the best in the area when it comes to quality of the district. So, he is coming to a much better, and if he succeeds, a much more stable opportunity in Warren.

Lol you haven't seen much of Woodville play have you?

The Kirbyville Wildcats(8-7)(1-0) travel to Woodville to take on the Eagles(7-8-1)(0-1) on Friday, in a battle of two of the better teams in this district. Woodville dropped their first district game to Hemphill, 2-4, on Tuesday. Kirbyville is coming off a solid win over Corrigan-Camden. They will see their first talented team in this short district season so far. I think Woodville takes a close one at home.

Kolek is definitely the #1 prospect in the area, but guys like Eric DeJesus (Diboll), Ethan Franklin (Koutnze), and Chase Shugart (BC) have certainly earned a place in the conversation.

Tyler Kolek. Hands down. Ethan Franklin is a hell of a pitcher and probably the second option without a doubt. But Tyler Kolek is throwing 95-98 AND controlling it. That's the reason he's a projected 5-10 overall pick in the draft. There's no one around here that can come very close to him.

lol thanks! They should do much better. Last year left a bad taste in those boys mouths and they'll come back with a chip on their shoulders. And Kountze should be pretty good as well!

I saw more motivation last year than I've ever seen. The attitude is definitely changing there. I just hate to see that coach leave. He did a great job there. I think they will miss him a lot.
