  1. You might be right about that..........my usual source of information seems to be missing. I'll try to confirm it either way.
  2. West Brook will surely drop from those rankings after our game against Spring Westfield this week.
  3. 1968...I believe.
  4. Not true.....Lumberton got the same treatment three years ago. When a new face appears at the top of the rankings, people will question it. Vidor needs to be as good as the Pirate faithful are predicting they are, or the crow-eating will commence. ;D

  6. I believe Stumps strategy this year is to hold the opposition to just 14 points, and find a way to score 17 or so. I believe we can do that. Lets be realistic, we dont have the offense this year that we've had in years past. However, we've got a defense that, so far, has been able to make up for the lack of offensive production. I dont know much about Westfield, other than they've dominated us in the past, and they will more than likely beat us again this year. BUT, if our offense starts to come around, we could make things very tough on the Mustangs. Maybe it's time Stump started playing some kids both ways. We've got a ton of athletes on the defensive side of the ball. I'm sure some of that speed and quickness could be utilized to help put more points on the board. Just my .02 worth. What do you think, Sarge?
  7. I sure hope the offense comes around soon.....it's sad when you're leading rusher on the team is the QB! I knew following after a great RB like C-Mike was gonna be tough, but I really expected a little more from #30 Cooper. We've got a D-Lineman thats like 5'11" @ 215 and runs a 4.45 40! I was kinda hopin Stump would have used him a little bit at the RB position, because he can run! But I guess he's a little too valuable at his defensive position.
  8. X2....the kids a beast, and only a junior!
  9. I dont know much of the statistics of Ball right now. But judging on what I saw from Central's defense last Friday night, I'd say that Ball is gonna have a hard time scoring any points on Central. Imma say Central by 3 TD's.
  10. Thats funny....unlike last season when our offense averaged 36 PPG, this season our defense is whats keeping us in games....just ask Central. I dont believe that Wing-T offense would be much of a problem keeping contained, because our defense is THAT GOOD! But how Vidor would do against West Brook is something that we'll never see. Something else to ponder......Vidor is winless lifetime against West Brook. I dont expect that would change.
  11. I saw him on the sidelines in the third quarter after he came out. He was obviously in pain. THe WB trainer had a huge ice pack on his left knee. I'm not sure what the prognosis is, but I hope he's not too seriously hurt.
  12. Bruins Offense- C We have trouble moving the ball on the ground in short yard situations, but the passing game is decent. I guess we miss C Mike a little more than I expected. Defense- A-, B+ This has definitely been our strong point this year. There are some areas to improve on, like making defensive adjustments at the line, but overall pretty good. Nice, hard hitting defensive players. Special Teams- B- Kicker is decent on kickoffs, but needs to work on FG's. I like our coverage on kickoffs......we didn't let Central have a return for a TD last night. Overall B
  13. Absolutely....that was a phenominal catch, but it was out of bounds. We too, had some problems on special teams with the two missed FG attempts. But again, the Jaguar defense managed to hold us to just 32 yards rushing.....great defensive effort Jags. Man I got to tell ya, if we had last years offense with this years defense, we'd be pretty dang good.
  14. .....and #1 ranked Katy lost to The Woodlands!!!!!! What a happy day, what a happy day!!!!
  15. Maybe, but they didn't win that game against Permian....they tied 21-21. At least West Brook won their title outright, in a 21-10 win over the unbeaten Hurst LD Bell Raiders.
  16. Not suprising.....upsets all over Texas tonight! Happy to see Lufkin brought back to earth!
  17. Come on Kerry, give us a little bit of credit......we're young, but we'll be OK come district play!
  18. Impressive win tonight, Pirates! Good luck on a LONG season ahead.......playoffs, I mean! ;D
  19. you are correct. .....and Katy will go on to win state again this year!
  20. Heard the RB had 200+ yards on Katy Katy wont have that to worry about with us!!! LOL! We barely had 200+ yards against Central!
