82 5A State Champs

when you guys have beaten a team with a winning record, then respect will be earned.......beat Central, Nederland, PN-G, or even Ozen for that matter, and you might get some respect. I understand that you're proud of your team, as you should be...4-0 is a great feat that alot of teams will never see. But save the gloating and trash talking until you've won a district title and made a deep playoff run.....THEN, you will have earned the right to talk smack on other teams! Because usually you can back it up, then!

I remember hearing a story about Alex Durley the year they opened WB....apparently he was under alot of pressure to play certain kids from FP and from Hebert, and it wasn't working. The story goes, Durley came into the locker room one night after a loss and addressed the team...."I might not be your coach after next week, but I'm gonna put the team on the field that I think has the best chance of winning." And he did, and they won a State title later that year. There is a fine line in which coaches have to balance on. I'll get off of my soapbox, now!

I dont know what to tell ya, soulja....it's got me scratching my head too! I just know that Stump is a better coach than I am, and I believe that he has a reason for everything he does. Even if it doesn't make sense to us.... ;D

The offense in the first half could have scored as many points as they wanted.....maybe Stump just didn't want to run up the score on a team that he knew WB was gonna beat. That shows a little bit of class, but I wouldn't be too generous to some of the other teams in our district!

that makes sense....but it would be nice for Stump to bring them all up for some postseason experience when the playoffs start. It might give them some playing time if WB has a big lead, plus it gives them more options for backups at certain positions in must win games, like in the playoffs!

I guess most of that will start in the middle schools......

As I said before, the offense looked good early on but sputtered late in the game. It was 31-0 at the half and only two scores after that, and one was a fumble recovery! Gonna definitely have to correct that. I also noticed something else tonight....WB does NOT have any depth as far as bench players. If we lose one or two key players to injury, it could make for a long season. Why dont they have more than 48 kids on the sidelines???? Katy has 88 kids on their roster and they're not much bigger (enrollment) than we are!

just got home from the game....defense looked really good tonight, the offense sputtered at times and still needs some work in order to make a deep playoff run this year. Good job Bruins ;D

WOW.... good job, Lumberton! There's still alot of football left to play and some good teams in your district....so dont make reservations in the playoffs just yet. But good job nonetheless!

OK...I just left WB's homecoming parade and pep-rally at the Brook......the boys are pumped up for district and will EASILY walk over the Eagles!

I don't know.....I was really expexting alot more from several of the teams in 21-5A, but if Lee gets it's offense on track they should win it. However, Kingwood always seems to suprise a few folks, so your guess is as good as mine. With the exception of West Brook, the other three playoff spots are very undecided in this district!
