For those that say the President doesn’t set gas prices

He didn’t have much to complain about when Biden was in office, I guess. 😂🤣😂 -

And it’s crazy to look at those old posts and see who all isn’t coming here anymore. -

Two things… if Biden caused them in ‘22, then Trump is causing them in 2025. They’re either responsible or not. In 2020 the pandemic shuttered the economy and demand for fuel dropped, so did the prices. By 2022, the massive federal dumping of cash into the economy created demand as the economy roared back to life… prices rose as fuel became more scarce. Fuel prices were good, but the war in Iran has destabilized supply and driven prices upwards. Sometimes there’s more credit and blame passed around than there ought to be. For reference, the Keystone pipeline was designed to move 830,000 barrels of oil per day down from Canada. The shutdown of Hormuz is stopping 20 million barrels of oil per day from leaving the Middle East. Prices weren’t high because Biden canceled the Keystone pipeline. -
No, you won’t, my man. Go find out the hard way. There’s always that one guy who knows it all and refuses to listen. And those guys end up crying the loudest when the consequences of their own deliberate ignorance of the facts come back around. Have fun with that.

Brother… I just ask for consistency. I’m opposed to murder. I believe that abortion is immoral and wrong, and I believe that capital punishment is immoral, too. I believe that the only acceptable reason to take a human life is in defense of one’s own. But it’s a little disingenuous to be opposed to murder in one situation but support it in the other. Kinda like when someone says that marriage is between one and one woman, but have a couple of divorces in their past. I guess that they meant one woman and one man at a time.

We already know that illegals aren’t voting in our elections. It’s been proven to just be another Trump election lie. 33 POTENTIAL incidents out of 11.3 million here in Texas. That’s nothing. So why change it up? It’s been 150+ years and the same group of people (older white males) are still trying to keep as many people as they can from voting. Nothing’s changed.
-
Every time you hear about somebody trying to stop people from voting, it’s a Republican. Republicans are a dying breed. They need to “Make America Great Again.” Like pre-1964, before the Civil Rights Act. How about a little more separate but equal… is that what they mean by Great Again? Maybe they’re talking pre-suffrage, when women were finally allowed to vote? Or would yall prefer to go back to pre-civil war days? How far back until we’re “Great Again.” Republicans want to go back to ways of thinking that were exclusionary, biased, and wrong. They miss the days when they oppressed everybody, but those hateful days are thankfully over and we’re never going back. Too much progress has been made, and the correct movement is correctly named progressive.

Murder is murder, bro. And the Bible also says you’re supposed to turn your cheek 70 times 7.
-
So if you aren’t allowed to vote, you’re cool with that?
-
The unborn? That’s disturbing.
-
We’ve all seen the bumper stickers. “Abortion stops a beating heart.” What does sodium thiopental do? Stops a beating heart. Personally, I think both are immoral, but that’s because my beliefs aren’t flimsy.
-
Do tell me what it says about abortion, specifically.
-
They’re exactly as it seems. Flynn is being rewarded for keeping his mouth shut about Russian collusion.
-
Murder is murder, right? That’s what BSWildcat said. I don’t think the Bible drew any distinctions. It’s just funny that ending the “life” of an unborn child by abortion is murder. Taking a pill to end a pregnancy is murder. Taking a pill to prevent pregnancy is not murder. Strapping a guy down and injecting him with poison? Not murder according to some…. people.

Plus the rod, the reel, tackle box, fish finder, and trolling motor, too… he’s all in. -
Shoot, son…. I’m hereby announcing my campaign for moderator on this board.

So I take it that you’re opposed to the death penalty here in Texas and the slaughter of citizens in Gaza and Iran? Didn’t think so. Don’t feel bad…Flexible morals and selective outrage are the hallmark of most people today.

Trump fired Flynn for lying.

You weren’t paying attention. If you show up on Election Day with an ID they’ll tell you try again next year…. You won’t be allowed to vote. People will need to re-register using your birth certificate or passport, plus additional documentation of your name on your birth certificate doesn’t match your ID.
-
No worries… voter ID is where you have to provide a photo id when you turn up to vote. A great idea in my opinion. Proof of citizenship is different. It’s where you have to prove your citizenship in order to register to vote. As a guy, you’d need a birth certificate and your ID, and the names have to match. You can use a passport instead of the birth certificate. As a female whose name on their ID doesn’t match the one on their birth certificate or passport, you’d have to document why… certified copy of your marriage license, possibly divorces, etc…. Certified copies from the bureau of vital statistics, county clerk and/or district clerk. Getting a birth certificate isn’t a big deal if you live in the state where you were born, it’s just time off from work, a trip to the courthouse, and a few bucks. Voter ID means you have to prove that you’re who you say you are on voting day. Proof of Citizenship means you have to prove when/where you were born, how/why your name may have changed along the way, and/or how you became a naturalized American citizen. Here’s the editorial part from me: The problem is that 11.3 million Texans voted in 2024. The republicans investigated a found 33 instances where non-citizens possibly voted, and they’re investigating. I’m not a wealthy person, but I’m not going to sweat over $33 dollars that I lost. If I had 11.3 million in the bank, why would I be losing my mind over a missing $33? This whole exercise makes no sense… in my mind, it’s not about voting integrity, it’s about making it harder for some groups of people who don’t typically support Trump (women and poor people) to vote.
-
Ok… just briefly describe the difference between requiring voter ID vs requiring proof of citizenship… in the manner that the SAVE Act would require. Because I bet you don’t know the difference.

God is about to use Donkeys to rebuke Trump and MAGA come November. Amen.

He just said the same thing that I’ve been saying all along. You have the presumption of innocence, but you can never be proven innocent. If we already know that you can’t be proven innocent, why would there need to be a policy in the FBI code that states what everybody knows. I guess the better question is why did they decide to include the language about the investigation “not exonerating” Trump? It seems superfluous to me… because I understand basic principles. Most people have cloudy views. A popular leader is investigated over alleged criminal wrongdoings, and the final reporting says “we found evidence that indicates criminal acts occurred, but we do not believe that a conviction can be won… we are closing our investigation, but this is not an exoneration of politician T.” The crowd goes wild and says “see? T didn’t don anything wrong! Fire the guy who looked into it! We’ll all celebrate when he dies!” Kinda like when the DOJ decided to end their investigations into Trump when he retook office in 2024 because they didn’t want to indict a sitting president. The Trumpers took that as “proof” that the investigations had “proven Trump innocent” when in fact they were closed despite the fact that there was a LOT of evidence of criminal wrongdoings.

I don’t get it… both parties are refusing to even address our spending. That used to be the job of the republicans.

And you aren’t bothered by it. Here’s the thing, and I hope I’m not stepping on any toes. One of the posters here lost his wife last week. Person after person has offered their condolences. People from both sides of the arguments. People with whom this poster has had differences of opinion, tossed insults, etc… but everyone that has spoken kindly regarding his loss. What would your feeling have been if someone here had posted “good. He deserves to suffer?” My guess… no, it’s a fact that the person that stated such an atrocious thing would be uniformly blasted and rightfully banned instantly because of that person’s hateful speech. You would be aghast. I’m sure that you’re a decent person. What is it about Trump that makes those other decent men abandon their principles and decency? You’ve come here laugh about how Trump is celebrating the loss of an American who served faithfully in war, directly under four different presidents from both parties, and who led the FBI. Your profile pic shows the thin blue line… you support law enforcement, but here you are giving your approval for Trump celebrating the death of one of your brothers in blue. It makes no sense to me.
