  1. Don't forget the sophomore phenom at running back. That kid is hard to bring down. He should take some pressure of RJ.
  2. Hope so, they are some big ole guys.....
  3. RJ is always gonna be a key, but this year we have Deslotte, Hughes, Riggs, Stansbury in key positions. They are all very good. Riggs and Hughes, included in the fastest in the district, will get behind defenses a lot. We faced some very good scat backs last week so that should help us, but we have to wrap up. I think we will be good though. I was happy to see corner backs up on the line getting physical. Our o-line did fairly well for a young group.
  4. Pretty much agree. The Ranger QB and Running Back remind of the Crosby Twins. Once they make their cut they are gone. So dang quick and won't go down. We have so may weapons on offense, don't where to start. If everyone stays healthy, fingers crossed, RJ should not have to carry the load. Although his stats tonight are very typical. Surprised by the Sophomores starting. I think we had at least 4 in the game starting.
  5. Have to agree here....I know we lost some good players on D but there others that are here still. With Bost, Le Bouef, Hammond, Sergio all returning we will be strong in the middle. LeJeune is a tough loss, but Bost is a pretty dang good line backer as well as LeBouef. There are some very good young players too. Offense, well, RJ enough said. But then you have Hughes, Riggs, Stansbury. Arguably the best receiving group in the district. Our O-line is actually bigger than before, young, but bigger. Too early to tell, but we shall see.. WE HAVE TO STAY HEALTHY THIS YEAR!!
  6. Passing of BH may be too much. If Vidor can keep BH offense off the field, I'd say Vidor. Key for Vidor D is to pressure QB often....
  7. that says a lot!! I remember playing against a good one by the name Kevin Smith.....ring a bell?
  8. I agree, but they are young 'uns in there so thank God for preseason. They actually didn't do that bad. Centering the ball is crucial!! Again, WOS chain gang d-line is always good. Doesn't look like they are missing a step starting off this year. Same with their d-backs, speed. It is good experience for our guys. The Brook will be very good for us too. Good to have strong opposition early to help push us. Healthy, Healthy, Healthy. Logan Hammond was pushing people around on defense line, so I can't wait for Sergio to get back.
  9. From my perspective WOS defense was a typical WOS defense. They were fast and physical. WOS D line did a good job. I liked the fact that our young line went up against them, it is good experience. WOS running back is very fast, he will see a lot of yards this year. I think our running game did pretty good and will get better. We do have some young ones out on the field this year which surprised me and they are very athletic. Our D looked good but can't wait for Sergio to get back. He is a play maker. RJ to Riggs is is going get crazy this year. When Stansbury gets situated it will be even better. Hughes will be tough to stop. All in all it was a good scrimmage. WOS will be tough to beat in my opinion, but that is usually a given.
  10. Confident in the D-line and linebackers. Don't know about D-backs. Offensive-line, we will have to see. Inexperience there. As far as skill positions, I am very confident there. A lot of speed and shiftiness. RJ could have a great year passing with the receivers coming back, but it depends on our o-line. I just want all our kids to stay healthy this year..... With that said: PAM PNG Central Vidor (Vidor and Central could switch places. Been following Ned for years with this age group and don't see them having their normal year. Never know though 'cause Barrows could pull a rabbit out)
  11. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see RJ at the helm, but if we didn't have him all would not be lost. I am sure most of you haven't seen Austin Bost man the QB position. The only reason he is not there is because RJ is on a level few get to. Austin is very much the caliber of Adam Morse and IMHO even better. With Preston Riggs and the other returning receivers I think we'd be in the hunt still. BTW, Preston Hughes is returning in the backfield. He was pretty dang good before he got hurt. I still think PAM has the advantage in the backfield with Hines....
  12. As they say offense wins games, defense wins championships. Hand tough Stark D
  13. KJ at least.....
  14. Be interesting if College Station and Temple go all the way
  15. Hughes was at my house last night. He was pumped. He wants to play so bad. Kid has a lot of desire.
  16. "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive!" Sorry, felt like Bill Pullman could help us out here....
  17. Any idea on location
  18. You got any film?
  19. Deep into playoffs you eventually get the beast. Looks like that's what we got next week. At least we have the opportunity. Push forward....
  20. Holy cow! D did awesome! RJ is just crazy to watch. Knew McGough would step up. DeSlatte is impressive.
