1. I'll say this...I didn't see him in Jasper at the 7 on 7 tournament that Hemphill was playing in
2. He is still there, but I have heard that he is struggling with arm issues.
3. I've heard rumors from a scoreboard company, that they dont care how much it costs, that just want one atleast 1 ft bigger than whatever the current biggest one is at the time

We will all let 55 have this time to shine...  but realize.  Almost every kid on that list (most of them transfers) will graduate after next year.  And...being how HD can't afford to keep Finney, he will probably leave too... along with his staff.  So... then what?  But... all that aside.  We will let HD enjoy this probable great season that's coming.
They will not play SA as SA will be in a serious rebuild mode. They will be stomped by Alto who has everyone coming back. Alto toyed with them this year and won comfortably in the end. I do believe that HD will continue their domination of the worst district in the history of high school football.
Hull-daisetta will be good.  They played with alot of confidence at the end of last year, and i would expect that to carry over.  They will win their district again and have a good chance to make a deep run again (they played Alto closer than anybody in the playoffs besides Mart). As for SA...serious rebuild mode is a bit of a stretch.  They will be just fine.
5.
HD wins their district.  Alto wins their district.  HD vs SA will be a good game... could be similar to last year's HD vs. Alto.  I think HD advances this time.  None of this matters though when they get to Mart.  Region 3 will be the Mart show again
Mart will be plenty good...but the seniors they did lose were all on a VERY good offensive line.  That was the difference in the ball game against San Augustine was the line play.  I'm sure they will be just fine but that will be something to watch.
6. Reality is neither team was very good on defense...Alto proved that by not being able to consistently stop San Augustine, Hull-Daisetta or Mart.  Hull-Daisetta wasn't very good on defense either considering Alto moved the ball at will against you just as you did against them.  Alto will be same ol' Alto next year.  In their district, San Augustine will be ALOT like what Alto was this past year (young but talented).  Don't count them out or underestimate them.  They play a tough non-district slate, but they will be plenty experienced by the time District play rolls around.  West Sabine has to find an identity on offense without Lacy.  Whether WS folks want to admit it or not, how Lacy went is how the game went more times than not.  Grapeland and Shelbyville are bound to be better with new coaching staffs.  Gonna be a fun district race.
7. Is this a series or 1 game? If its a 1 gamer Broaddus will have a chance. They have a lefty that's their ace who is pretty good. He will give them a chance in 1 game.
8. [Hidden Content] there is a couple of pictures on there
9. If HD wins their district they won't see Mart until the regional finals (assuming Mart wins their district).  The top half will be wide open.  There about 10-12 teams that have a chance of falling on that part of the bracket.
10. Turf is being unloaded off of the delivery truck right this minute!!
11. Deweyville still going to be a good ball club for sure. Played with alot of confidence last year and have some key kogs back to do it again.
12. At small schools I don't really think this going to have much of an effect, if any. Most only go full pads twice a week, and if you pay attention to the wording it says full speed to the ground contact. I guarantee that doesn't happen 90 minutes a week at this level as is.
13.
Hull-Daisetta RB/MLB Darrell Lavalais is a stud.
Do any of the HD guys run track? I was at the area track meet today and was just curious.
14. Colmesneil beat San Augustine 10-7. San Augustine got the bases loaded with 0 outs in the bottom of the 7th but couldn't push any runs across.  Colmesneil just didn't look all the way into and San Augustine played pretty well.
15. Just to give you guys an idea on how big the new field house will be...it is as wide as te entire inside of the track. So from lane 1 on one side to lane 1 on the other of any track is how wide the new field house is.
16. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but 23A is Colmesneil 0 losses West Sabine 1 Loss Broaddus 2 losses (but still have top 2 plus SA left) San Augustine 4 losses (Broaddus and colmesneil left) Those are the 4 teams with playoff chances left anyways. Broaddus and SA play tomorrow so it could very well be all but settled barring an upset if Broaddus wins.
17. All the curbing around the track and field is expected to be done this week.  The first layer of rock is done on the track and if the weather cooperates will be done on both the track and the field surface this week.  its starting to look alot like a football stadium in San Augustine!!
18. West Sabine struggled to get hits against San Augustine Friday night. San Augustine just made way too many errors and it resulted in all 7 runs for West Sabine. Tigers are going to need a much better effort at the plate to beat Colmesneil.
19. West Sabine beat San Augustine 7-1...San Augustine is getting much better. Tuesday is a big game in this district with SA playing Broaddus
20. San Augustine won by a score of 11-3...brings their district record to 4-3.  First time they have been over .500 in district in easily a couple of years
21. They are pouring the jump pits and home bleacher stands as you read this
22. There is now dirt in that huge dip!! The stadium is actually moving about 100 yards into those woods that were on the scoreboard end of the stadium.  The new field house will be sitting on about the old 25 yard line.  The new goal line will be pretty close to where the 50 yard line was.  Add in more depth for a track, plus the shot and disc area going on the far end and it is a completely different look now for SA.  Yesterday they started putting down the layers for the track (lime, followed quickly by limestone soon etc).  Plumbing is going in for the field house, will probably pour the slab for it in the next week or two.
23. Progress is coming along nicely.  Starting to look like a construction site finally. There was a TON of dirt work to be done.  Directly behind the old stadium was a pretty nice little dropoff that had to be built up, plus a hill that had to be flattened out.  Hellas came in at the beginning of this week and is working daily.  Slabs for the building are being prepped as I type.  It's coming along nicely right now.  Hard  to really take a picture because there is no where to get up above it and show you the progess thats been made.
24. White Oak has a 6'7 post, another that is about 6'3.  PG is super quick and can beat you off the dribble.  They are deadly from 3 point land.  If you leave them open they knock it down many more times than not.  Scoring wise on the year they are pretty balanced.  Its pretty much pick your poison with them.  They are the defending state champions for a reason.
